October 2009 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Canceled

Now I have 3 reservations of my own to cancel:

10/10, 5 pm, Hoop-de-doo (tier 3), 2a 2c
10/11, 10:35 am, Cinderella's Royal Table, 2a 2c
10/12, 9:55 am, Cinderella's Royal Table, 1a 2c

I would really, really, really like to get an 'Ohanas for 10/11, 6 pm-ish, for 3-4 ppl in exchange for one of these. However, if I can't get that, I will still be giving these away. Feel free to let me know now if you want one, and I'll try until Friday for the 'Ohana trade before releasing them.
do you still have the 955 cinderella? If you do, i'll take it. i have no idea how i get it from you though.

At least the person (people) you're balking at came here to even let people know that they are up for grabs.

I have posted that I have ADR's to cancel before I do so, and no one has wanted them (good one's, too). So I've cancelled some w/o coming here to tell everyone before, or even after (granted, they weren't very desirable or hard to get ADR's at that time). Don't get me wrong, I love the DIS, and am very loyal to it, but that doesn't mean that there aren't other people out there, struggling to get ADR's that aren't on the DIS.

Another point to that fact, I have talked to multiple CM's that have said that people who are double/triple booking will soon be having their ADR's cancelled, at random. So if I'm looking for an ADR at 6:00pm on 9/25, and I already have an alternate, if I find the one I want, I might just cancel the alternate right then and there so that I'm not at risk for having all/many of my ADR's cancelled by Disney.
Coming here to post that I did so is a courtesy, not a requirement.

Garden Grill on 10/1 prior to 5:15 PM for 5 people

Could trade a Garden Grill on 9/29 @ 5:50 for 5 people

Sure, it's yours. I think the best way is to set up a time when I can call, and you can grab it online or over the phone immediately. I would like to do that tomorrow - are you free then?

If this is true , I'm cancelling my (3) extras/alternates ASAP. I've given everyone HERE enough time to claim my ADRs. Sorry, they're gonna be gone asap! I want only what I need! I wasn't hoarding btw, I had a change in plans from 3 to 4 - 2A & 1C, to 3A & 1 C.

If it is true, I would really hope that they notify people first. I know that there are some people doing numerous simultaneous bookings on purpose, but there are also probably a number of folks who have been messed up by the buggy online system. I remember a few pages back where another DISer had double reservations because she thought that her first round didn't go through, and she never received a confirmation e-mail - it was only by calling to verify her ADRs that she found out.

I am going to be cancelling Chef Mickey on 10/11 at 8:00pm for 2A and 2C. I will hold the reservation for a few hours today if anyone would like it.

I've never transfered a reservation to someone else, so whoever takes it may need to walk me through this process. Thanks!

I have Crystal Palace on Oct 6th for 4 people at 3:15pm I am willing to give up or trade.

A CM told me this as well and I agree with you PryncessChrysty it IS a courtesy!

Those of you have extra ADR's booked for the same times should go thru them and delete the extra's ASAP as, according to what the CM told me, Disney is deleting them randomly so, for example you may have a Le Cellier and a Captain's Grille booked for the same meal - you may lose the Le Cellier and have to go to Captain's Grille.

Just FYI! :goodvibes

I have two ADRs I'll be canceling later today. I'm happy to arrange a time to cancel so you have the best opportunity to pick it up.

10/1: Mama Melrose, 5 people @ 5:15 PM
10/2: Narcossees, 2 people @ 8:50 PM

A CM told me also that a brand new HOTEL/RIDE/PARK based on ______________ will be opening soon. There is NO WAY Disney is going to alienate guests by doing this. Sorry, but that CM is dead wrong. Disney is doing NOTHING of the kind.

I am still looking for a Chef Mickey's for any morning 10/03 through 10/10 for 2A & 2C.

If anyone has a CM ADR during those dates that they are not going to use I would LOVE to have it. I would even take a lunch or dinner if it is a day that we are planning to be in MK.

Thanks!

Did you call and ask? They are ALREADY doing this read around this board - sorry.

Actually, canceling double booked ADRs has been Disney's long standing policy, but they usually cancel BOTH. And, no, they don't notify you generally.

It just happened a lot less because you couldn't book your own ADRs online. Now that it's happening a ton, and Disney knows they will lose revenue since lots of spots will be no-shows and others will give up trying to get in, I'm not at all surprised to hear they are going through and canceling double booked ADRs. I think they are doing guests a favor by only canceling one of them instead of both of them.

From what I've heard on the Dis and other fan sites, it's suddenly started happening this week. I'm guessing this is the time frame that online ADRs first started. While not being able to retrieve ADRs could be a technical glitch, I wouldn't be surprised if some people are having ADRs cancelled if double-booked. After all, you do agree to it on the terms of service to not hold more than one ADR for the same meal period.

Sorry Chrysty, I dthink you are dead wrong. I don't see it as a courtesy, I see it as posting something that could have helped fulfill a wish of another diser being thrown away. The chances of getting a cancelled ressie are slim and for a high profile restaurant like CM, Le Cellier, etc its nearly impossible. With the number of people looking for these restaurants, who have been posting asking, etc... to come on and say you cancelled without offering them first is like rubbing salt in the wounds. Waiting a day to delete and offering them up IS PART OF BEING A COMMUNITY. Sometimes it takes a little effort.

I and many others I talk to would much rather have you forget the "courtesy" of telling us you gave away ADRs we are trying to get. All many of see is a wasted opportunity and a missed chance.

So thank you for your opinion, but I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you on this one...and I will shake my head when people post cancellations without offering it on the board first because it really takes no effort on their part and hopefully if they don't realize how much getting some of these ADRs mean to people, they will begin to understand.

And I call Bull on the CM thing. There is no truth in that at all... CMs now very little about what DIsney is going to do or else we'd have about 20 new hotels and 15 new Theme Parks at Disney. Use logic for a moment here... Disney is not going to randomly cancel reservations without infoming guests of 1) the policy change and 2) without telling the guest that they did it. You don't think guest satisfaction will go WAY DOWN for people showing up to ADRs and being told they were cancelled? That policy makes no sense whatsoever, and its just an example of CMs spouting off at the mouth. Never believe a cast member until you see an official policy... as a former CM, I can tell you most of what we hear is rumor, nothing but rumor, from other CMs.
