It took a little convincing of my wife that a Disney cruise would be great for a honeymoon :)

We both love going to Disneyland (we actually live 5minutes away and get a free fireworks show on our front lawn every night :) ) but she thought she would be over run by kids everywhere!

Also, as far as the dressing up vs dressing down for a cruise is concerned, I don't think either one deserves to be judged too harshly. It just depends on what you're used to, and what makes you feel special. If you have to dress up in your daily life, then by all means, slob around the ship for a week, and love every minute of it! I am a harried new mother, who lives in scrubs at work and jeans and tees at home. So I want to get in shape and dress up and feel well-kept for a week! No shame in that. To quote Brighton Beach Memoirs, "Pearls are like people. They like to go out and be seen once in a while." My pearls have been collecting dust for far too long!

You are so right!!! I love people watching on the formal and pirate nights!!!
Especially the little ones in the princess dresses!!

I lived in Garden Grove for a while and could also see the fireworks. There is enough adult area that you can get away from the kids. The new ships just have a bad layout from the front elevator. It empties right into the adult pool area. So it's a little busier than the older ships.

Right on :) The first place I moved when I came out to California was literally across the street from Disneyland and the fireworks set off car alarms on my street nightly haha

I'm a "half and half" kind if girl..... I dress up for work, but it's yoga pants and tanks the minute I walk through my door. So I'm guessing I'll reverse it for Vacation. Comfy during the day, and dressed up for dinner only. Besides, on my 1st Disney cruise, I tried to fix myself up every day and by noon time, I was a HOTT MESS!!

You have described me exactly...dress for work, but can't wait to get home and throwon sweats and a t-shirt:goodvibes. I do comfy during the day..and try not to feel Silly wearing a hat to cover my messy hair from the humidity and wind.
I clean up well for dinner.but I'm going to try to not worry as much about it this time and just just enjoy myself... Afterall it is a vacation!:goodvibes

Hats are a girls best friend some days.... I have quite an extensive selection ranging from baseball to Fedora. You'll see!

Ahhhhh, the hat. I will have several. Von also loves me in a hat, so everyone wins, haha. Here are some hats to get things going. ;)~
:firefight :joker: :artist: :wizard:pirate: :sail:

Hat girl here too. I apparently have the rare male of the species that wants to dress up....anyone want to change places?!?

what I know from friends who disembarked the Fantasy this morning:

Remy brunch is still worth attending in their opinion, even with the upcharge for bubbles.

Skyline offers a drink passport that will give you seven drinks (one from each country) for the price of six. Passport gets a country stamp after each new drink.

OGill's "home brew" is an amber that is on tap along with Murphy's Stout, Stella Artois, and Strongbow Cider.

Sounds like beer tasting at OGill's does not include the items on tap; it's five or six beers like Guinness, Sam Adams, Stella, and Newcastle all from cans. BLEH! For fellow beer snobs this sounds like a pass. Martini and Whiskey tastings get a thumbs up as does Mixology.

Will post more as I hear it. Can you tell we don't have kids? :rotfl2:

You should hit World of Beer while your in Orlando Brenda. The local one for us is on Sandlake. Think 70 taps and approx 800 bottles/cans in the coolers from all over the world. :p

heehee, yeah, I went there.

Rick just hit 1500 and I'm at 1325 in their organized drunkness system they call a loyalty program.:rolleyes1

WHAT!?!? Beer tasting should ONLY include beers on tap, that is totally bogus!! Too bad, Von would have been really excited for a good beer tasting. I'm sure we'll find other ways to test our indulgence meters. pirate:

Hello....we are in cabin 7586 and would really, really like to participate in the gift exchange. I realize that I've missed the cut off...been crazy consumed with work that I have not had a chance to visit the board in awhile. Could you pleasssse consider including us...my 2 girls (ages 7 & 4) would really enjoy the experience. Thanks!

We were bummed to hear it. We have decided to make our own beer tasting with just the beers that are on tap. And I love Strongbow so that's an extra incentive. Our friends did say that they really enjoyed the pub and spent a lot of time there - great atmosphere from what they had to say. :thumbsup2

Hello there....I'd like to apologize in advance for all the posts, trying to spend some time to get organized and prepared for our upcoming trip (SUPER EXCITED)! Looks like our family is already added to the list for the gift exchange (I did this awhile back and forgotten about it). I have not received a PM for the group assignment and gift delivery schedules. Can someone please PM me? THank you so much and looking forward to meeting everyone! xo - Binh
