WELCOME HOME CORINNA & GRAHAM!!!!!!
I can't wait for your trip report!!! I am excited for the dates to come out for 2012 as well!! Might not be able to book right away but it would be nice to sit down with our friends and talk about dates and Intineraries!
Thanks for the welcome home. I know that you are following my trip report, but just in case that anybody else is interested in this, it is now linked under Transatlantic Adventures in my signature.
Hi everyone!
Not much activity has been happening but I am guilty too. I have had a change of jobs and been flat out with a few issues that arose over the last job I had. My FIL has just come back of the States and he had a great time. VAustralia had an issue with the plan on the day they were to fly out so he didn't actually get home until Thursday.

I had to put my cat down on Monday and after 16 years it was a tough thing to do. Dh is planning on surprising the girls with a Beagle for Christmas so I guess that will be a welcome addition to the household. Maddie wants to name it Cupcake but I am trying to get the name Walt out there.

I am hoping this will be a better week for us as it was just non stop last week and I feel like I haven't seen the family. Halloween is coming up and while it isn't big here I would love to know how you are celebrating. The girls will get to visit some houses in our street so we will see what they get.
Talk to you later
Becky
I am so sorry about the loss of your fur baby. A Beagle sounds like fun. One of the people on the Transatlantic has two Beagles and she kept us entertained with stories of what the beagles have been up to. They are so naughty.
The cruise is getting closer and we are getting more excited every day!!! I know it will be time soon to book hotel and air so I will have to do some investigating on where the best places to stay are. Michelle I know you have already done that, so I may be picking your brain.
We wont be able to do anything about the hotel until late February for the pre-cruise stay and early to mid March for the post-cruise stay. We are DVC members and hoping to use our points at Grand Californian Villas. Unfortunately as we dont own there, we will have to wait until 7 months prior to the check in date. Once I have the hotel sorted, I will book air. I am also quietly hoping that we might be asked to volunteer to go on a later flight when we come back from the Panama Canal cruise. This has happened quite a lot when we have been to Los Angeles before. Getting a free return ticket would be very sweet indeed. If this does not happen, I might decide to fly standby again.
Yay! We have another traveler going with us but they have posted over on Cruise Critic and I dont know if you can tell them about the Dis over there.
This had not even occurred to me. It is such a shame that you cant send PMs over there.

OK So I just wanna say ...I love Disney, though U all know that. But I got goosebumps when I watched this!
This is a nice video, but I really dislike the new horn. For me, When You Wish Upon A Star sums up was Disney means to me. However, I read some press releases that mentioned that the horn will be able to play the first and second line of When You Wish Upon A Star. So all might not be lost.
Happy Halloween to you all!

Do you know if there will be any trick or treating on the cruise or will it be to early?
Becky
Last year when we were on the October 3rd Western Caribbean Cruise, they did Trick and Treating on the Sunday. There were also other events that day like a costume competition and the characters were wearing their Halloween costumes. I am hoping that this will happen again. We wont be able to do it on a Sunday as this will be taken up with the safety trill and the sail away party, but I suppose it could easily be done on one of the sea days.
Woohoo 30 days and I am at my 2nd Happiest Place on Earth....MK
DCL being the 1st!
I hope that you will have a wonderful time. I will think of you when you are there.
I am keeping busy here as well. I had three days off over the weekend and on Monday we went to see the Tutankhamun exhibition that opened in Manchester just over a week ago. Graham was a bit reluctant about this when I suggested this, but he was just as fascinated by it all as I was. We had a wonderful time and spent about 3 hours in the exhibition. The museum that the exhibition was shown in is right next to one of the big shopping malls so we spent some time afterwards going window-shopping and then had a lovely meal.
I have some issues with the CD I got on the Transatlantic. Now that I have downloaded all the photos from my camera and from the CD, I noticed that I am missing at least 50 photos. Essentially none of the photos that were taken after September 27th made it onto the CD. As I was not feeling too well on the debarkation morning, I just cast a cursory glance over the sheet with the thumbnails and did not notice anything that was missing. I have now emailed them with a detailed description of the missing photos. They emailed me back today asking for our full names, cabin number and reservation number and said they would forward this to the photo manager on the Magic to see if the photos can be recovered. I just hope that this can be sorted out.
I had a bit of a surprise when I got to work yesterday that first had me absolutely delighted, but soon turned sour. I might have mentioned before that I have applied for a promotion in Dubai. I have been anxiously waiting for an update for the past two weeks. Yesterday I had an email saying that I have been shortlisted for a written assessment in Dubai. I was very happy with this, until I saw the date. I was supposed to be in Dubai for this this morning. There is no chance I could have got there on such short notice. Even if I had picked up the email on Monday, when it had been sent, it would have been too late to get all the arrangements made. I have now emailed them back to ask if I can do the assessment here in Manchester or if I could come to Dubai to do it at a later date, but so far no reply. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that something can be sorted out.
I did however have one lovely surprise yesterday. I had ordered a new evening gown for semi-formal night. This was coming from China again and it normally takes a month to produce and then another week to 10 days for it to arrive. I had ordered this on October 19th and it already arrived today. It is royal blue satin with black lace overlay and a bit of a train. It looks really stunning. I think I might well have the same dress made in ivory with ivory lace for our vow renewal.
Here are some photos of my new pride and joy. I tried on my new dress today and it is just perfect. I can't wait to wear it. These are photos from the seller's Ebay shop, which show the detail:
Here are some photos of my actual dress:
I think this works really well with the blue.
I also had a pleasant surprise at work today. I got in and our manager said to me that he needed some help. He said that he needed to find where the Employee of the Month for October is sitting. I asked him who he was looking for and then told me that it was me. I replied that I did not think so, but he reassured me that it really was me. I was presented with a framed certificate and a bottle of champagne. I also will have exclusive use of a dedicated parking space at the front of the building for the month of November. I dont drive myself, but I car share with one of my colleagues and he is quite happy about this.
