A Marie in Aristocats would say "How romantic"! Can't wait to hear the rest of the details of the evening.

I called him at 6:30 this morning to leave a message on his voice mail
saying congratulations. Instead of voice mail he answered. He is so happy.

He has been in love with Michelle for so long. I had lost any hope that they would actually get together long ago because he was so shy and she just seemed to think of him as her best friend. 2 years ago at Christmas Jason I and I went to lunch and I kept telling him to tell her how he felt. He was so afraid that it would scare her away from being his friend he would not take the chance so instead he went home and wrote a song complete with all the music. He recorded it and sent her the CD. By the time she got it she had a boyfriend. Jason was heartbroken but he was headed for Korea. He really enjoyed his time overseas but never forgot her. In the fall she started emailing him dropping hints that she liked him. He was so funny when he would call or email he was always asking me what I thought. He finally got up the nerve to ask her. They have been in love ever since.

Awwwww. how sweet! I love hearing all the details. Denine, Ted and I have been married for almost 30 years and we are still deeply in love too. I was going with his best friend and he patiently waited for me. What a love!

Very busy day today. Had Graci, did 6 loads of laundry including sheets, 4 batches of peanut brittle and I did 4 months of bank statements. Got more bank statements to do but feel like I accomplished something. Now Ted will come home and have to help me make the bed.

Hopefully I didn't overdo on my feet so I can shop till I drop with Heidi tomorrow!

I am beat so I am signing off for today. I will probably be MIA until tomorrow afternoon or Saturday. Bye

I must have been a very, very good girl. My secret santa surprised me today.

Julie, you better start posting. You are missed!

I must be a romantic at heart too, I actually have tears rolling down my face for such happiness for Jasone and Shelly. Barb, you sure do have wonderful, loving family. You should be very proud of all of them. I wish you so much joy with your new family members.

I just got home from hockey practice, To answer a few questions:

Yes, I do bathe, first thing in the morning (or sometime after I have logged on to say good morning)

Yes, I do eat. You can ask the scales when I weigh in at my weight wathers meetings (not looking good lately)

Yes, I do sleep but never enough. I am one of those who needs a good 8+ hours and I have been running on 6-8 lately.

Yes, I do make it to the loo. Some things just can't be put off!

And, YES, I am insane. Who wouldn't be???

Good news for me, I am taking a half day off tomorrow and getting a facial. Basketball practice was cancelled!! I am babysitting for my friend so she can go Christmas shopping but little Morgan is such a good baby!

Hate to hear about Julie's computer. A wine chat soon...very soon????

Later!!

How fun to be so much in love!

Sandy & Heidi: Enjoy shopping!

Sue: Good for you. Enjoy your facial!

We finished Christmas shopping last night. :Pinkbounc

Tomorrow we are going to our friend's for dinner. We are having them over for NYE. I don't like being out on the roads that night with Kaleigh in the car. This way, she will be safely ensconced in her bed.

It is another gray, dreary day. Supposed to get some snow tonight.

Going grocery shopping when Jerry gets home. Gotta get some stuff to start baking next week.

Enjoying my cup of tea!

I sent out my secret Santa, just waiting for mine. :bitelip:

Just me here after a FULL day of shopping with Heidi. She got a lot accomplished and I was able to pick up all the little things I needed.

Susan, got a kick out of your post.

Denine, I would love to be around your house next week when you start baking. I can just imagine what you will be up to.

I am exhausted.

Ted is talking about bringing in the computer this weekend to be worked on so I might (again I say might) disappear for 4 days or so.

Hi everyone! It has been awhile!!! It has been a really REALLY stressful week for us here. Let's see... where to begin.....

Saturday, Garry was on the laptop and the computer died! We called Dell and they told us it was AC adaptor so they were going to send us another one and it should be here by tuesday. Well, it came and the computer still didn't work. SO, we had to send it back to Dell to get it worked on. It was still under warranty (thank goodness) so it isn't going to cost us anything, but it is a HUGE inconvenience since that is where I could check the boards during the day and when Garry would wake up, he could his "pay email clicky things" while having coffee with me and being with the kids. I didn't think that a laptop could cause so much uproar! Hopefully we will get it back soon. I can't check the boards during the day since the computers are in the bedroom and Garry is trying to catch up on his sleep.

Next, Garry and work!!! What a mess! NOW that the oldest sgt. in the world is retiring the first of the year ( he is 70yrs) ANOTHER sgt. is being sent over to Kuwiat!! He signed up for the naval reserves (after the war had started mind you) and now he is complaining about going over there. He leaves on Jan. 5th. SO NOW Garry and the other 3 sgts. are going to have to fill the 6 sgt. spots. A det. sgt. is coming over to help out, but Garry and the other 3 sgts. are going to be working their butts off! He will go in and work either the 4pm to 8am shift or go in at 10pm and work to 2pm. Happy New Year!

My father's birthday was sun. So we had a family party for him on monday night. We found out that night that my cousin's ex-step daughter was shot and killed at the Subway she worked at down in Tampa. She was 22 and a fashion design major at the fashion school down there. She was working at Subway for the cash. From what we know, two men came in to rob them and she took to long to open up the safe. So they shot her and the other worker, but the other girl survived.

My father is sick and my mom thinks it could be congestive heart failure or Purlousy (sp). BUT he won't go to the doctors to find out what is wrong with him. He has a horrible cough that he double overs in pain from it.

Garry's dad called wed. and was telling us about his trip to cancun and what had happened down there. I guess he was doing ok until friday (a week ago today). He started to feel sick and then started to cough up blood. Now Garry's dad told me that it was about the size of a gravy laddle of bright red blood. He blood pressure was also extremely high at that time. SO what does he do?.. he goes to the "time share/condo's house doctor"! Not to the hospital or med center but to the "house doctor". She proceeds to give him some blood pressure meds and told him to come back in an hour. So he did. His blood pressure was back to the normal range then and she told him that he had acid reflux and the tequilla that he was drinking blistered is throat and that is what caused the bleeding. She gave him 3 different types of meds and sent him back home to Ohio. He came home around midnight last Sat. and then waited to call his own doctor until tuesday. When he did call, he made an appointment for today!!!!!!!! He said he wanted to finish the meds from the Mexican house doctor before he saw his own doctor. Well, today his doctor took some chest x-rays and he will get the results on tueday. SOOO, we have that to look forward to. Now he is a smoker and drinks regularly, but we are keeping fingers crossed that it is just a bleeding ulcer or something like that. I don't think that Garry could go through another parent with the "c" word. (we don't say that word around here!) His mother passed away from it when he was 28. So prayers and thoughts our way would be appreciated.

With all that, I still need to get some more chirstmas shopping done. I'm running out of time. The gifts I do have, are at least wrapped!!

Now tie all the above in with 3 kids, pre school, kindergarten, school holiday shop that I was asked to volunteer at, Brooke's scheduled check up, Garry working almost every day, rainy windy weather......(did I forget anything Denine?) It's been a normal week. LOL!!!

Well enough from me. I'll check back in later!

THe good news is, We got our secret santa gift today!!!

Julie I am sorry, you sound like you are really getting it.....

I don't know what I have but I feel like someone is sitting on my chest....and I am losing my voice. I stayed in bed almost all day but so tired of laying there I finally got up and sat in my lazy boy. I was suppose to go to a Christmas party tonight but with my cough I didn't think it was a good idea even if I felt like it...

I got my gift exchanged mailed....but still haven't done any cards. Maybe tomorrow....

I think we need some Christmas cheer on this board....not too many happy stories

Oh Julie, I am so sorry to hear about everything. Of course our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Wish I could be there for you.

Sally, take care of yourself. Don't push it too fast. Have chicken soup. It has been proven to help. You poor thing. If it isn't one thing. It is another.

Yahoo, Ted has given up on the computer and we will take it in. I have to get some pictures off and hopefully tomorrow it will go in. I guess the computer downstairs still works so I might be able to still get on. Won't make it a marathon session though cuz it is cold down there.

Hugs to all.

Yep, Julie. That sounds like everything you told me except, you left out that Makenzie lost her 1st tooth and what you had to do to recover it.

Sandy: Glad to hear your shopping day was successful. I am not baking as much this year. We j ust don't need the calories. I am going to let Kaleigh help decorate the cutouts. I have to make something for the adoption Christmas party next Saturday.

Jerry just went down to do his treadmill. I just did mine. Then we will leave for our friends house.

Julie: Are we still doing zoo lights next Saturday? Jerry said we are showing up at your house no matter what!

Sally: I hope you feel better soon!

Oh yeah! Makenzie lost her first tooth Thursday during school! It was one of her bottom ones. I was at the school working the Santa shop and I saw her walking down the hall with another friend from her class. She was carrying a worksheet and walking "briskly". Then the two of the stop and began to look on the floor. I walked over to them and asked what was wrong. Makenzie opens her mouth and shows me that her tooth was gone. She looked really concerned so I told her that it was ok but where was her tooth. She then looked at the paper she was carrying and said it was on here but when I was walking it flew up and the tooth fell to the floor. Now mind you the hall floor is black, grey, and white speckled. She went on to the clinic to rinse her mouth out and I went on "tooth hunting duty!!" I was so upset that it was her first tooth and now I wouldn't have it. SO here I am crouching down to get eye level with the floor to see if I can see anything that was "raised" on the floor. I walked up and down this protion of the hallway to see if I could spot it. I finally went to the custodian and asked him if I could get a broom to look for the tooth. By this time I think every teacher knew about the missing tooth and so did the entire office including the principal. The custodian was nice enough to give me a broom with a clean and new mop head on it. NOTHING LIKE LOOKING FOR A NEEDLE IN A HAY STACK!!! Well, I began to make a few sweeps in the area where they said it fell off. I then went over to the corner of the hall and shook the broom head out. By this time I had come to the conclusion that the tooth was gone for good and that I was going to have to settle for the the "second" tooth. I got down to look in the pile of dirt and dust bunnies along with whatever else I picked up. I was just about to give up when I spotted the tooth!!! It was in the pile I swept up!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy I had to go in to the principal and tell her I found the tooth. Even the teachers came by to see if I found the tooth and were surprised that I did. What a mother won't do for her kids!!!!

So that had to be adding to the Lauter family's week from h***!!!! The tooth fairy did stop by that night and left Makenzie some money. We got a "tooth fairy" pillow down at Disney (it has the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty on it with a removable tooth pocket). It is really cute and she was so excited to use it.

Denine, I'll let you know about next Sat. It's all going to depend on the out come of Garry's dad's results from his chest xray. IF it is (you know what) we might be going over there with the kids because Garry's brother will be coming in from Michigan this weekend if it isn't the results he wants to hear. If it doesn't come back as ****** then his brother will be coming up the week of New Year's. Long story, don't ask!!

Well, I can't think of anything else to add. Gonna try to finish Christmas shopping tomorrow and if I don't I will try and finish by Tuesday.

Gotta go, I'll be back tomorrow!!

P.S. Barb I almost forgot!! Congrats to Jason and Michelle!!! I think it is so sweet to see people so much in love!!!

Good morning everyone.

We've got the Christmas music on while getting ready for the day. I love Christmas time. No better time of year.

Julie, I have to admit your post drew tears. It was so sweet to read about how hard you tried to find that tooth.

Denine, I am not baking either. We don't need the calories especially how hard it is right now as I am sitting on this plateau. Have to make peanut brittle because people expect it. Have to make fudge because of Ted's dad and a very dear friend.

Today will be spent coping pictures off the computer and wrapping. Nothing fun but it has to be done. I thank God every day for Ted. He is so much help and I know that most men aren't. Yesterday we waxed the BAD BOY and boy am I ever paying for it today. That sucker is just too big. Next week will be the Suburban and then we will be done. Thank goodness for that.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Love to all.

So how is your day going Sandy? Well, thanks for asking. We aren't really getting as much done as I wanted but at least some tasks have been accomplished. And...how is your day? Oh wait, I am only talking to myself. Oops, forgot.

Back from Greensboro and exhausted. Turner's team won 2 of the 3 games and the 3rd one was close. Some of our old neighbors moved to Greensboro 8 years ago and they came to watch 2 of the games. We had a great time after yesterday's game at dinner. They didn't come to the early game this morning since it was at 6:00. Needless to say I have been up since 4:30 and I'm tried from the drive home and the stop over for the birthday party Turner went to. I am putting a load of laundry on and heading to bed EARLY!!!

The hotel didn't have free internet service so I couldn't log on. Pixie dust to everyone needing it. I'll try to get back on in the morning before I leave for work. With Paul gone all week it is going to be a little insane!

Miss you all!
Later!

I have laid around for 3 days and it is not for me....I did get about half of my cards addressed and have watched a lot of Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel.

One of my friends friend has the same thing I have and she went to the doctor and he said there isn't anything they can do as it is a virus...coughing, tight chest and I also have almost lost my voice. He said the best thing to do is rest which I have done and I am feeling better, just can't talk much and still coughing.

Can you believe Christmas is next week.....I still have gifts to wrap and have been trying to find a sweater for Dick that either zips or buttons up the front. He gets cold and goes and puts his coat on....lol.

I watched the Disney special on the travel channel about the different parks and resorts at Christmas. I would like to spend Christmas there sometime. We have always gone after Christmas but I think it would be fun to be there for Christmas since we don't have little kids for Santa to come see.

Sally, get plenty of fluids and keep resting. A little chicken soup woudl be good for you too. Hope you are well soon.

Turner and I went to bed around 7:30 last night. I do feel rested this morning. If only I felt energized for this busy week ahead.

Gotta run. Love to all!
Later!

Good Morning!

I am so tired from this weekend. Saturday Bob and I left at 9:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 5:30 at night then Missy and Mike came over to make cookies and play cards. Sunday we went to church, lunch to look at houses then over to some friends for a hay ride/christmas caroling pot luck. Lots of fun. I need a few days to recoop from the weekend!

Julie what a cute story of you searching for the tooth. You are a great Mom!
I will keep you in my prayers with all your challenges.

Have we ever decided when the next reunion is?? I don't want to miss the next one.

Got more cookies to make tonight for a cookie exchange at work this week.

Hi Sandy, Heidi, Denine and Susan

Hope your feeling better Mom

Barb

Poor Julie. I wish I was close enough to lighten your load but just think in 12 days the Christmas hustle & bustle will be over. That's a depressing thought.

SANDY: Sorry I missed your call. I have been working alot & the Christmas Party was last night. I looked all around to find your surprise. Faith got one too & I have one for Bonnie (so don't tell her what it is). This is my only day off. I work tomorrow & the next day but then I am OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUE: Turner is getting so big!

My flattop range is FINALLY installed but still haven't used it or applied the cleaner. I have gotten a few presents already & love all of them. I got a CD from the movie "The Replacements" which I have been trying to find forever (I love that movie). My friend from work gave me the "My Pal Mickey" with the snowbabie - you should see how cute it is! Also got a fleece Mickey sweatshirt. I AM GETTING VERY EXCITED!!!!!!! :jumping1: My son Teddy turns 24 on the 16th so I am hoping he is available for a "dinner date".

Miss you all :grouphug:. Weren't we in Disneyworld last year at this time? :sad1: :sad1: I have a TENTATIVE plan to be in Disney the first week of December 2005. Anyone interested? Will try to check in later today but don't count on me Tuesday or Wednesday but will be on after until Christmas. Toodles  :earboy2: JEANNE
