Denine
1- Look for sunshine on the driveway during the winter! Less ice on it all winter that way.
2- Smaller house with potential.
3-Farm view, as long as the smell of yearly fertilizer isn't too bad. My sister had a house up the hill from a farm and it was SO tranquil. Good point about not knowing it's future, though.
4- no opinion on the cabinets. I can reach them all.
5- closed foyer is nice to keep the hustle of arrivals and departures from interrupting the rest of the house (& gatherings).

Yea I have been excused and don't want to go through that process in awhile....2 days for jury selection for a 5 week trial, gets to be very stressful thinking about it with the nice month of May I had planned. The 36 of us that got dismissed just made a loud sigh of relief!!! The poor 15 people that got chosen. Thank god its over with!!

Lori - Do you ever get to take time to breathe? Every time I read something from you, you are always so busy!!!

Denine - Just to put in my 2 cents that I think you should go with the bigger house because you can always save money to upgrade later, 9" ceilings with bigger cabinets, no sun in the kitchen so a larger lot, and an open foyer. If you do a search on the community board, there was a thread about what people think about upgrades on houses. It was very interesting to read. and a lot of people suggested to do upgrades right now and don't wait.

Susan - YEA now I can go to DC again. I have to have the report done and finished by next week, and then we are giving them time to calm down before we go out there to discuss it with them. I am hoping for the weekend of either 15th or the 22nd. We will see!!!

Have a great rest of the week...Thank goodness it is hump day!!! I think I was just as excited to go to work today as I was my first day in September!!!!

Does anyone know how far in advance you can make reservations for Coral Reef?? I want to eat there again in Oct.

Finally got my remote started back in my Mustang. Bob got it for me for Christmas and it stopped working twice. They sent it away to be rebuilt. It took 6 weeks and still did not work. They gave me a choice of waiting ANOTHER 6 weeks or having an upgraded model put in for an additional $60. We finally compromised and had the upgraded model put in for an additional $30. I now have a Viper. Does anyone know anything about Vipers??

Just checking in. We didn't get to see the model last night since it was closed. We are going back today and are also going to look at another one again.

The smaller house isn't actually small. It would be about 2500 sq ft when we are done. The others would be closer to 3000. I have the sun in the front of the house now which does help melt the snow in the driveway, but I love a sunny kitchen. I had one when we lived in the condo. I spend a lot of time in the office now, because it is the only sunny room in the house. We would be adding a morning room to the kitchen no matter which house we get. I love the open foyer, it is so pretty. The farm is a very small soybean farm. For all I know, they owned the land we would be building on. There is no room for it to be anything more than what it is. It is all so confusing! Thanks for the input. I will keep you guys updated.

Heidi: I read the thread on building. It was an interesting read since it came up at a time when we are considering building.

Heidi: Yeah! It would have been awful to sit through 5 weeks of jury duty. Jerry just did that last year.

Sandy: I can't believe how awful that would have been to live so close to Columbine. I remember turning on the TV that morning and seeing what happened. It was so tragic.


Barb: I believe you can make reservations 90 days in advance.

Supposed to have thunderstorms this afternoon. Kaleigh and I already went for our walk. Just made it home before it started sprinkling.

Denine, either house isn't "small" so I think that you should go with whatever you like the BEST! The hardest decision is where you want the SUN! I know you would absolutely love the sun in the kitchen and family room. I think mentally that would help YOU the most. Now Jerry will hate having the snow and ice pile up in the front. Decisions!

Susan, ANOTHER trip for hockey?? Kind of jealous tho. It keeps you busy doing fun stuff that you like and you get to see other cities and towns.

Hi Sandy!
The remote is a remote starter. You push a button and the car starts. Sorry guess I was not clear on that.

My kitchen is in the back of my house along with the family room and a kitchen nook. Hot Hot Hot in the summer! Now if you had air conditioning it might be different. Our back yard is also west facing it is to hot in the evenings to sit outside. Seems like the past few years it has really gotten hot.

Barb, I face the same direction and it definitely heats up in the summer. I just keep my curtains and blinds closed when the sun comes around. It helps quite a bit. I had a feeling you were talking about the remote starter but just wasn't sure. We don't have them so I don't have any experience. Sorry!

Oh my gosh, you guys. I have been reading a thread on the cruise forum about a cruise being cancelled this October due to the Wonder being CHARTERED. People are just getting notified today that their trip was cancelled. I can't even try to comprehend what Disney was thinking about. So many are now scurrying trying to figure out what to do. I really feel sorry for all the people. Disney is trying to help out but not enough in my book. They should never have cancelled. The corporation or whatever could have booked early out like the rest of us. To expect the "little guy" to be shoved around is wrong. I have to get off my soapbox. I am so totally worked up over this. I think of Faith and how long she was on a wait list for the Walt Disney Suite. If it happened to her she would have lost out and had to have gone back on a list again. Crazy, totally crazy!! Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Susan, I really shouldn't keep reading the thread myself but I am hooked. I want to read everyones reaction. Some are against the corp, some are against Disney only and some are against both. I am against BOTH. I need to take out the time to write DCL like everyone else is. I agree Susan. We need a date from Heidi so that we can PLAN and plan some more. Sounds like that office is having a mass run to DC in the month of May so I am sure that they are having to work around that.

Is anyone watching American Idol this time around?? I about died when I saw the last 3 were the "divas".

Looks like we might be hit pretty good again with another snowstorm. Guessing where I live, we could get about 6" or maybe even more. Living right next to the foothills sometimes gets us hit pretty hard. We got a lot of rain yesterday afternoon. Wow, everything is so green. I only wish it would stay like that. Unfortunately we will be on water rationing again.

Ok, missing everyone. Bonnie, Jeanne, Sally, Patty, Krista and everyone else. Jeanne, give Joyce a big hug from Ted and I. Who has Darrren's new email address? I failed to change his address when he got off the ship and now my mail was returned. I think we all need to go on an email campaign to draw him out again.

Hi guys. It's a very busy day for me because it is Bring your child to work day and lucky me gets to take the kids around on tours!!!! I thought I left the daycare???? Guess not for today. It should be a lot of fun. The only problem is that we have an outside activity planned and their is forecasted SNOW!!!! Not sure what we will do then!!! Wish me luck!!!

I think we have decided on a house. I just have to convince Jerry that we decided. It is one of the bigger ones. The sun would be in the front of the house on the lot we like. But, we will have an actual office in the front, plus the foyer is open so that if I have the front door open, a lot of light will come in. If we are one of the next 3 houses sold, we get $2700 in upgrades. I already have them figured out with $50 left over for an extra outlet in the garage for Jerry. Jerry worked out the monthly payments and said we could afford the house as we have it priced out.

It rained all day yesterday. Everything is really green though. The grass needs to be cut, but the lawnmower is being disagreeable...again.

Sandy: I hope you get your snow. It should help.

I can't believe DCL cancelled a cruise so they could charter it. Those poor cruisers. We all look forward to our cruises so much. I would be devastated. I'll have to read the thread.

Sue: Enjoy your weekend in Pittsburgh. Too bad we won't be able to get together. So close, yet so far.

:thewave: Hi all It's such a beautiful day here in Boston land. I have all my windows open, doing laundry, listening to music, and typing on this dis board. I'm in such a great mood, I have not felt this good in such a very long time. Maybe it's because I've just recently started a diet that seams to be working so far only lost 5 pounds so far but it's a start. Or maybe it's just because it's spring.

I called DCL last night about the Oct cruise they told me it was not canceled but the booked a charter and they are just trying to persuade people to change there dates on that cruise. I sure hope Disney is giving them an incentive of some sort.


Anyway got to run still doing laundry and such. I will do my nice long walk in a little bit. So hope you all have a great day.

Well, I was having a great day until I looked at the old thread that I met Sandy on. Boy do I feel foolish.
Sandy if you get a chance please read it. I was so upset when I saw Beano's posting, I sent him an email. His posting made me so angry that I wanted to stay away from any dis board but I can't because I've meat some great people.



I'm so sorry to be posting a note on this wonderful thread but I had to vent. My DD Kristy would not let me vent on the other one. I just have to say thank you to all of you for being so nice. again I'm soooooo sorry to vent.

Ok Faith, you have my interest, now I have to go lurk on that thread to read what they said.

Had fun with the kids, but also had some wanders (and I thought it would be easy). Walked a lot in the rain so I am soaked, buit now we are done and I can do my work.

I am extremely mad and have to vent. I had a dentist appointment set for May 18 after work so I do not have to miss work for it. Last week I got a postcard stating it's time to make an appointment...Hello I have the appointment card stating the date and time I am supose to have. Well my mom talked to the lady that works there (Graci and Noah's mom) and she said they lost me, but she can get me an appointment July 20th. HELLO that is 2 months away from my original appointmet, but yet I can't seem to do anything about it, because my mom watches the kids. I think it is ridiculous that I have to wait 2 months for something I made 6 months ago...maybe they should cancel the other person, why should I be affected because of their mistakes and because I know the hygienist. I am so angry over this. Heather said she would work off hours to do it, but she shouldn't have to. AUGHH I am so angry right now.

Okay off my vent and time to get back to work. Thanks for letting me vent.
