Heidi's photographer is terrific! I am so happy she found him.

Question about the Amish. Why is everyone a "Yoder"? I have a cookbook that several contributed recipes just like a church cookbook or whatever. It seems that so many had the last name Yoder.

My weight is so bad right now that I am not going to weigh in this week. I gained 5 pounds over the weekend. I just don't want to face listening to them. I am an emotional eater. I ate anything and everything and mostly on Sunday. They pretty much have all new employees and they don't have a bone of sympathy in them. I am not even going to call them to put me on hold. When Stacey moved, they LAUGHED!!

Yes, we spent the day in Amish on Saturday. It was nice. Yoder is pretty much like Smith. We did go to the ball game on Sunday. Beautiful day, but very windy so a little chilly at times where we were sitting. Kaleigh got to run the bases after the game, but it was SOOOOO unorganized. They never told you where you had to go and we were walking all over the place trying to find out. The line was literally about a mile long. But, Kaleigh had her heart set on it, so we waited. It was pretty much a let down. I wanted to take a picture of Kaleigh but there was no stopping, so you coudn;t even enjoy bein on the field. One time around the bases and that was it. Kaleigh liked it but we won't be doing it again.

Kaleigh had her last library program last night. The one next week is a pirate show that she earned a ticket to see.

Jerry had a dentist appointment this morning and he has to come home early so I can go to my meetng at 3 PM. Then we are going out to dinner.

School was a bit frustrating this morning. Kaleigh wants to be able to do something perfect on the first try and when she can't she gets all upset and frustrated and then gets sloppy about her work and doesn't want to try. I need to have Jerry work with her on tying her shoes. I will try to keep my patience with her writing small letters.

Heidi: Loved the pictures. Glad you booked your photographer.

Sandy: Trying to lose weight just sucks! Whenever you indulge just a little, on it goes, but never wants to come off.

I am in for November. I guess that means I need to get something now!

Denine, I am so tired of trying to keep this weight off. You just can't enjoy life worrying about weight. Pretty much life is about getting together, having a good time and EATING. I can't even enjoy a dish of ice cream or whatever. It stinks!! But on the other hand, I am much more happy thinner than heavier. What does a person do????? Sorry about the let down with the baseball thingy! You were good parents to wait it out and let Kaleigh do it. Way to go!

I am wasting a little time. I have a manicure in a half hour.

New Life has found a pastor. We will be meeting him the next couple of weeks. Still so sad that Ted is gone.

Sandy: Yeah, you see skinny people eating all kinds of stuff at places and I wonder why I can't eat that stuff. It is so frustrating. It is fair time again next week, and we have to cut down on the yummies we have. It just isn't fair. Jerry has gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Don't know why. I lost 1/2 pound in the same time frame. Whoppee

Kaleigh did much better in school today. Jerry had a talk with her yesterday. She is improving on learning to tie shoes. She wrote some very nice little "e's". I read her a story about the first day of home school kindergaten.

Jerry is at work late today for a meeting. He won't be home until 5:30 or 6.

Heidi: Hope you have a terrific time in Vegas!

Julie was supposed to call me this week to set up a time for them to come over, but I haven't heard from her yet.

Denine, we splurged on funnel cake over the weekend. I felt so guilty. WHY? Skinny people don't feel guilty! Good for you on the weight loss!

Kaleigh will soon realize that you mean business when it comes to school. I have never been good at teaching kids to tie their shoes. It is so frustrating to me and them, both!

Barb, good to hear that you are getting the new Pastor. That means that things will start settling down at Church!

I am here. Where is everyone else?

I forgot to mention that summer actually came back. Normally, once it gets cool, it doesn't get warm again. It is supposed to be 92 today and it was 90 yesterday. I am much happpier!

We are having grilled chicken and corn on the cob for dinner. Jerry has to stop on his way home for the corn. The corn festival is next weekend.

Jerry and I are going out Saturdat night. We can't wait! We will probably go out to dinner and maybe a movie if there is anything decent.

Question: Why do people post some of the things they do on the DIS? I saw a post about someone's surgery complete with photo of the incision. WHY? I didn't open the thread, but there are so many like that. One the other day was about someone having the dry heaves. Do these people just have nothing better to do?

I am not working tomorrow, so we have a full week of school. I have more books to pick up at the library. I will be spending a lot of time there this school year. At least I can order the books online and pick them up when they come in.

Hi Denine, I think the same as you. Some of the DISers posts are a little strange. Posting about their illnesses is weird!

Just had lunch with Stacey and my niece. It was fun. Stacey was in town to do all kinds of shopping and a Drs appt.

Heard from Heidi last night around 10 that they had landed in Vegas ok. I saw on the news that Vegas had so much rain yesterday that they were having street flooding. I heard that it could be the same today. I hope not for Heidi's sake!

We managed all 5 days of Kindergarten this week. I am trying to coordinate my days. I have a ton of books to pick up at the library today. At least the books I need for school next week finally came in.

Good Morning

Just checking in. On the computer paying bills. I sure long for the day there is more money then bills.

Today is "Family day" at the AFB where Bob works. I am working one of the booths. The new commissary opened up yesterday. I am SUPER excited. It is much much bigger. YAY!!

Tomorrow is Bob's birthday. Not doing much since he is working. We went out to dinner and a movie with some friends. We saw Bourne Ultimatum it was really really good.

Denine-Glad school is going well.

Gotta go clean the house and get ready to leave.

It was Mardi Gras weekend at the campground. Next weekend is Halloween. Can't wait to see Tyler and Joey trick or treating.

Jerry and I had a nice evening. We had a nice dinner and then saw Rescue Dawn. We didn't get home until 12:30 AM. We walked around the outdoor shopping are (crocker park) for awhile until the movie started.

It is a rainy day today. We did make it to church. My head isn't 100% today.

Jerry worked on shoe tying with Kaleigh. SHe is getting it.

Sandy: All the holidays in 1 summer huh? SOunds like fun.

Barb: Happy birthday to Bob!

We are thinking of going to Disneyland in February. We will use points and stay at the DL hotel if we go. If we go, it will be for Jerry's birthday.

Day 8 of K tomorrow and then the final library program tomorrow evening. It is a pirate show Kaleigh earned a ticket to see.

Julie: Do you want us to go ahead and make ressies for 'ohana for 8 people for dinner one evening?

Good Morning

Posting from home. It about 4:30 and my alarm goes off in a few minutes. Another week starts. Usually when I can't sleep and up at 4:00 it is not a work day so aready this week is starting out good!

Only one more week of my Summer class then the next week my fall one starts. Summer is almost over. The kids go back to school within the next couple of weeks. We leave one week from today to take Tiffany back to Tulsa. Summer is almost over. Before we know it it will be Christmas.

Did we ever decide if we can have our gift exchange the end of November? Got my gift ready to mail.

I have just about finished Tiffany's afghan. This weekend I made a huge banner for my classroom and made curtains for Tiffany to put over her closet at school. I have so many projects I am working on I need to get done before Christmas I will be working every free minute trying to get it all done. Sure glad 2 more are behind me.

Sandy- How was camping this weekend. I bet you are glad you get to see Stacey so much. Tell her hi for me!

Heidi- How was Vegas? Did you go to any shows or just hang out by the pool?

Denine- Sounds like a fun date night. YAY for Kaleigh learning to tie her shoes. That is a hard task!

Good morning, had a great time in Vegas. Thank goodness we went to a Pool party at the Palms on Friday to escape all the kids at the Monte Carlo pool!! The weather was great and it was HOT!!! The temps were over 104, but at the pool you would never notice it unless you got out of the pool!!! At the palms pool they made snow and we got to sled down the snow hill into one of the pools, it was a blast. The only shows we saw were impersonations of Prince and the Pussycat Dolls...both were great shows and a lot of fun. Now off to the audit, I doubt I will be on much today. Have a great week.

Heidi: Sounds like you had a nice, relaxing time.

Barb: Always busy. I bought a poster for my classroom. Jerry had asked me what I would do if Kaleigh went to school. I said I would have time to do my cross stitch and have a cleaner house! Not a problem filling my time.

It is sooo humid today and that doesn't usually bother me. It is only 76 but I borke down and turned on the AC just to get the dampness out of the air. I cut out coupons this morning and when I went back to put them away, they were actually damp! The AC hasn't come on yet as it isn't warm enough in the house.

Barb: We don't have an official word on the exchange, but I think those of us that are actually posting agreed to November.
