Barb, I have heard that the storm can come from two directions. If it comes up from the south that we will be hit just as hard as last week. BUT.....the weather man tonight said that he thinks the meteorologists are making a bigger deal out of it than what it will be. He thought that it will come from the other direction. We will get snow but not blizzard porportions. Let's pray!

Thanks Barb and Sally. I was so excited and I had to share it with my Disney family. I am so suprised my mom and dad kept it a secret...they really did a great job for Chris with keeping the secret. I am amazed he kept it in all this time, he is not the greatest at keeping secrets!!!

How he did it: We were opening presents from eachother on Christmas morning. I was sitting on our kitchen chair and he was sitting on the floor. I wanted him to open his last present but he wouldn't, he kept insisting that I open mine...I kept telling him to open his last gift but I finally gave up and opened mine. I opened the first box (a pampered chef box lol) and inside it was another box, then another box that I opened was the box from the jewellery store. I looked inside to see NOTHING!!! I panicked a little bit thinking he got ripped off and he didn't check to see if anything was in there when he picked the gift up. I looked confused at him and he was on his knee with the ring. We both started crying and hugging before he even asked me and I said yes!!! I was shaking and crying all morning!!!

The ring: Very very sparkly and very clear almost completely colorless. It is a solitaire with white gold and the diamond is a round cut...but I guess it has more facets cut into it then a normal diamond does and thats what makes it so sparkly. He didn't like the setting it came with so he bought one that he liked...he did a very good job and has great taste. I think I am still in shock.

We talked a little bit tonight about when we want it and we both agree in the summertime. If we do it this year (2007) we were hoping for August but then we couldn't go on the cruise with my sister...so then we thought maybe June of 2008...so we don't know yet.

We were suppose to leave Thursday but with the weather report we decided to leave in the morning just in case they are right. I was at Archivers all day so I came home about 4 and had to pack and get ready to go. I am ready I think...

Barb isn't leaving until Friday so I hope the reports are wrong...they are taking our other van down to my granddaughter who bought it but if it is bad they should just leave it here and Leslie can come up and get it later.

Have a Happy New Year everyone.....see you next year!

Good morning!!! I am finally back to work. It seems so weird to be back at work since I have been off for a week!!!!

Now Christmas is really exciting again with a baby in the house. I can't wait until Zoe gets a little older and we can really enjoy her at Christmas. We all have a very special Christmas. The pots and pans from Christmas are still in the sink! There was too much present opening, asti drinking, etc. I spoke with Bonnie, then Sandy and then Heidi on Christmas. What a great Christmas for the Van Horn's and especially for Chris. He is one lucky guy.

I have a week to clean my house since I am on vacation but I am NOT taking down my decorations yet. I know you Coloradians will hate me saying this but I am very envious of your snow. All we have her is rain, rain and more rain.

Almost hate to say anything about the EAGLES because I feel i will jinx them!

Hope SANTA was good to everyone. Miss you all. Love, Jeanne

P.S. Can't get any of the little smiles to work. Oh well.

GOOOOOD Morning!

Welcome back to the working world Heidi. Kinda hard to come back isn't it?
We are suppose to leave on Friday. So far our weather people have not backed down from the intensity of the storm the only thing I did hear is that it may turn a little south hitting New Mexico which will not help us since that is where we are headed.

Heidi-Your ring story brought tears to my eyes. How exciting! The Disney Cruise sure would make a great honeymoon. I think You should get married in 2007! :bride:

I am determined to start my Christmas shopping right away. I am watching for some great deals.:santa:

Heidi: That is exciting. I am so happy for you both.

Sandy: You must have been bursting at the seams!

Barb: We opened our secret santa. OMG, we love it! It is awesome and goes perfect in our office. It is a Mickey statue.

Jerry got me "Song of the South" on DVD for Chirstmas. We watched it yesterday. I love it!

Heidi: Great pictures, but waaay too much snow!

We have had rain and the temps are going to be too warm for snow!

We are gearing up for another weekend of eating. I won't over eat this time though! Friday we are going to Jerry's mom's for dinner. Sunday we are having friends over for NYE and Monday is the Rose Parade and pork, spaetzle and sauerkraut. YUMMY!

Jerry went back to work today. Kaleigh and I are on vacation until next week.

Hi everyone,

Jeanne, KIDS do make Christmas don't they. It was so much fun with Joey and Tyler. I could tell you guys stories all day but have to run. They kept us laughing all night. I don't know anything about the Eagles but the Broncos have been pretty disappointing this year.

Barb and Sally be very, very careful. I haven't heard the weather report yet today. I just hope we don't get hit that hard again. My brother is in AZ and needs to come back to CO. Heidi is watching their dogs. It could make for another disaster!!

Don't shoot me Denine. I don't think I have ever watched the Song of the South. Weird, huh?

Heidi, Chris was so cute saying we could go to Hawaii with you guys. He is so caring. He ALWAYS watches out for Ted and I.

I am finally posting again and then you guys get too busy to post. :confused3 I think I am a thread killer.

Talked to Stacey today on the phone and little Joey is now becoming a little mocking bird. We have to watch what we say now!!!! Right Stacey?:rotfl: :rotfl2:

One more thing for Heidi. I couldn't figure out why I hadn't cried over your engagement and guess what???? I was thinking about it at the mall and then it  came. Thanks for the embarrassment! At least it wasn't as bad as at the movie theater. :rotfl2:
Sheez, memories from Stacey's engagement and wedding. Look out when you try on :bride: dresses!! Right Stacey?:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Can I vent before I EXPLODE? I just talked to Ted and he has volunteered to snow plow for this next storm. Yes, he gets paid for it. But, if it starts tomorrow afternoon, he might go to his regular job and then plow snow for 12 hours. Then on Friday he will have to plow again for another 12. So, now I am thinking that
1. I will have to do the majority of the snow myself until I give up and then
2. Ted will come home tired from all those hours, shovel and get an hour of 2 sleep and head right back out.

It makes me very nervous. I blame the snowstorm for our neighbors heart attack on Christmas Eve and I accept the fact that we are no longer young ourselves. Maybe his death put a scare into me that shouldn't be there but.....

Hello everyone!!

I am finally posting.

Mom- Hush!! I have learned my lesson with Joey. I think she has forgotten about it since she said it earlier.

I am getting my haircut today...I think I am going short. We will see how short I can go without my hairdresser telling me no.

This next storm as of now is going to be another biggy...oh boy!! Not really!! I went out shopping yesterday and found a snowblower so at least we will have that this time...won't kill my back nearly as bad.

My sister has told everyone here more about the engagement and future plans even before she has told me!!!! Guess I will have to keep reading to keep learning!

I love the holidays but I love getting back to normal also. It was nice to get back to the routine today.

Time to pay bills, yuck! Barb, one of these weeks we will have to meet up and do lunch to get everyone's Pampered Chef items! Only if it would quit snowing!!!

Stacey, don't feel bad. I am learning about Heidi as I read, too. OMG, you are thinking about getting your hair cut short?? Guess you will need to find a new hairdresser for that! :rotfl:

Mom and Stace - relax, Chris and I only talked about it last night at Uncle Larry's house when we were hanging out with the dogs!!!! But I have to learn through the boards that Joey repeated something naughty...what did she say?

Mom - I know you are worried about Dad, but Chris and I will help you shovel to hopefully reduce some of your stress. And why were you crying over the engagement....hopefully excitement?????

Stacy-How about we tentatively set a week from Friday as a meeting date?

Sandy-What are all these secret's you keep refering too? What Joey said??
Wedding dress?? Movie Theater?? Stacy's engagement?? Come on now tell us all!

Well our local news cast has Friday marked as Blizzard. My Mom and Dad left today for Patty's to beat the storm. We were not suppose to leave until Friday but looks like we will be leaving tomorrow. Not sure what to expect.

Barb, Stacey said a bad word and Joey repeated it. As far as the wedding dress, I cried when Stacey was trying on dresses. It was so emotional for me. I can just see me doing it again with Heidi. And.....oh darn. You asked about the movie theater. Man oh man. I made a specticle out of myself on Christmas Day. We went to a movie and Ted was in front of me and Chris or Heidi said something to me so I turned around to respond to them and I accidentally stepped on Ted's heel. Well, it made me fall to the floor right in the middle of the movie theater. Embarrassing, YES!!!! Then on top of it, my dear daughter Heidi walked away LAUGHING (of course, after making sure I was ok) The snow is to hit tomorrow afternoon. Are you sure you will be alright leaving tomorrow? You have me a little concerned. Please, if you have access to a computer, let us know that you and your mom are ok.
