Good morning everyone.

We haven't heard from Julie yet. Hope she and the Big Guy are doing better. Bonnie how is the abcess? Please, let us know.

Susan, it was good to hear that you guys are on the way to recovery. That was a nasty one that is for sure. A lady at LA Weight Loss had it too and two days later she had to fly to Chicago for Christmas. She was not looking forward to that flight. How sad!

Jeanne, C sections in time for the new year just isn't right. I won't get on my soapbox however. Sorry about your bad day! Hamburger helper was so funny. I love that you are going to fix it and garlic shrimp. I have to admit tho that the shrimp sounds so much yummier.

Poor Barb! I know how I would feel if Ted would have to leave. Hang in there. Hugs are sent down to you! How long is he to be gone this time? I agree "sharing the holidays" just isn't fun! But.....guess we have to get used to it!

I went out early to buy all the food for tonight. Lasagna is done - I forgot to tell you he likes the Hamburger Helper Lasagna made in the oven. It used to be an OLD recipe on the box. Shrimp, oil & garlic are ready to be thrown together & I just have to make the pasta. I did make some sausage & sauce in case any one has seafood allergies. The house is semi-clean so I am ready.

Where is Bonnie? Is she okay? Where is Julie? Is she okay? Time to send out the Mounties!

Tomorrow could be an eyebrow & upper lip waxing day along with a packing day. I have SOOOO much to do & I leave in two days :crazy2:. I can't wait to see my daughter :lovestruc :lovestruc .

Hope you all have a terrific day. Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

I can't post the detail of our romantic weekend. Jerry sometimes reads the board. He just can't post from work.

We were supposed to go to Jerry's parents for New Year's Day, but they are both sick, so I had to pull my pork roasts back out of the freezer.

Sue: Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery! I hope New Years' is knid to you.

Barb: Glad you posted. We will help you get through missing Bob.

I came home from work this morning. Kaleigh says "hi mama" then a bit later she said "I missed you mama". How cute is that? I asked Jerry if he got her to say it and he said no.

Jeanne: I forgot you were headed to CA on New Year's. That should be fun. You are going on a short cruise too, aren't you? Enjoy you dinner with the in-laws!

1 week after the snow storm, we finally have a partly clean street. The snowplow came by.

Jerry had a sore throat all night and this morning, but it went away and he feels fine now. Hope it stays that way.

Having friends over for dinner on NYE. We bought some pink champagne, but it isn't going to be Banfi from the Italian pavilion in Epcot. That cost $25 a bottle this stuff was $4. I hope it is still decent. We are having baked ham with a maple syrup/mustard glaze, green beans almondine, baked corn, biscuits and hot fudge pudding cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. (it is sort of like a lava cake) I am making a cheese spread that is baked in the oven for later in the evening. I got rave reviews on it on Thanksgiving.
The for New Years Day, I am putting a pork roast in the crock pot with sauerkraut and I bought fresh spaetzle. That way I don't have to stand over a pot of boiling water for an hour. This is Jerry's favorite meal and is so yummy!

Diana's parents (Ron & Sue) are very nice & very young. I keep forgetting she is only 21. She is there oldest & Derek is my youngest.

DENINE: Your meal sounds great. Everything you make sounds SOOOOO delicious. Pork on New Year's is a tradition but aren't you supposed to have black-eyed peas for good luck too? I am going on a little Carnival Cruise :boat: with my daughter. It starts in Long Beach, goes to Catalina & Ensenada. It will be a four day mother-daughter bonding cruise.

Tomorrow will be my packing day since I work Friday & my flight is 8:45 AM Saturday (which means I have to be over at the airport by 6:45 AM). Lots of loose ends to tie up. My cousin's son Joey moved back in today since his house is full again since his brother moved in. The more the merrier... :grouphug: Off to bed. Hope you all have sweet dreams. Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

Glad your evening worked out Jeanne. It is always good to have met the in laws before the wedding! We knew Stacey's in laws for years and were very good friends. Now her MIL doesn't talk to any of us. She has a chemical brain disorder of some sort and that is the excuse for everything. Her FIL is very good to us. Scope out the port for us as that is where we leave from in Aug. Look for a nice hotel around there and perhaps some shuttle service or car rental. I just hate not knowing what I am doing on this trip! Have a wonderful trip. Can't wait to get your trip report.

Denine, of course you made me hungry just reading everything that you are cooking. Yummy!

Bonnie? Julie? Sally?

Nothing new here. Lost the weight I gained over Christmas so that was very good. So far 27.2 pounds and 24.5 inches. Not bad but that is only half of what I would like to lose. Hopefully by summer. I would love to know what I end up at so I can go out after NYE and get some nice formal attire for the cruise.

Time for the little ones. Have a great day everyone. Will probably check back in later.

Good morning everyone. Today is my last day of work for the week!!!!

Mom - you are not nice. How can I guess what the stocking stuffer is if you don't give me clues. I am sure if you give me one clue I would be able to guess it.

Jeanne - have a great cruise and trip out to Cali. I wish I was going somewhere!!

I am SO tired this morning, I just can't wake up today. Well I hope everyone has a great and safe New Years.

I probably won't post later so talk to you all next year.

It is sort of TGIF. Jerry is off tomorrow.

Kaleigh is napping and I may do the same when I get off the computer.

Jeanne: Glad your evening went OK. It is always nerve racking for the prospective in-laws to meet. Jerry's and my parents are sooo different. They do get along when in the same room though.

Jerry had to go out last night to his parents to dig them out again. Their back sidewalk was all icey and his dad fell. Luckily he did not get hurt. He was trying to let the dog out.

I hope my meals turn out fine. The pork one always does. It is so easy! I have never had black eyed peas.

Sandy: We are staying at the Anaheim Ho Jo. I'll send you the link. Good price and is walking distance from DL. We are getting a shuttle to the port for all the cruisers staying there. It looks really nice.

I will be up at 3AM to leave for NYC byt 3:45 AM to try and get a good spot outside the Today Show.

I will try to make a sign that says Happy New Year Oct. 19th cruisers.
My heart isn't in it but I said I would so I will.

Need to lose weight!! All pants are tight around the waist...even those that used to be big!! Gee...you all may not recognize me on TV. ALthough the ladies told me to wear my hat...look for someone with a bluish/white had with fuzzy blue on the brim. :earboy2:

Have fun in CA Jeanne...wish I was going!

Trying to get all my last minute packing, shopping, etc. done today since I work tomorrow & fly out early New Year's Day.

SANDY: I am cruising :boat: out of the Port in Long Beach but I don't think the Disney Cruise leaves from this Port & I don't think it leaves from Los Angeles Port either. It is some other Port. I bet Denine knows the Port. She is right about Ho Jo's being really cheap. It is not quite as cheap as staying with family.

The in-laws are very nice & I think they would like the wedding :groom: :bride: to take place late next year which would make me HAPPY.

Just in case I don't get back on - I want to wish you all the happiest year ever. Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

Hi everyone! Sorry to be MIA.

Jeanne, glad to hear that the inlaw meeting/dinner went well. Have a super time with your daughter! We will be thinking of you!

Bonnie, going to try to be on the today show???? What is this plan? I will be looking for you! Keep your chin up!!! You seem a little down. I could send you the Big Guy or Brooke or Makenzie to keep you company! They love their auntie Bonnie!!!!

Sandy, why to go on the weight loss! You go girl!!!

Susan, glad to hear the family is on the mends!!

Denine, so when do you want us tomorrow? LOL!! Ok, we'll just come for dinner on Sat. LOL!!! Garry works both days so that is my plan..... nothing but staying home with the kids. Hey, I need some of your yummy bread recipes! I got a bread machine for christmas, so I would love some of your yummy breads!!! That is if you don't mind.

Lauter update: The Big Guy has a sprained ankle and is feeling better. My back is killing me and will be hurting for some time. I twisted my back and pulled somekind of muscle so I will be hurting for some time. AND yesterday, I had to take Makenzie to the doctors because she had some kind of rash all over her chest and across her back along the shoulders and it started to go down her arms. The doctor said that it was a virus (the strep throat, scarlet fever virus) which is probably the cause of the rash and that it should go away in a few days. They did a throat culture and it came back negative (the quick test) but they were going to send it for the "longer test" and would let me know. SO today we were at Garry's dad's and the doctor's office called and told me to call them in reguards to Makenzie's test, but the office was closed by the time we got home, so I will have to wait until tomorrow. They told me yesterday to give her benedryll for the itching but that was it. So now tomorrow I will have to call the office to find out if the other results came back postive. Will it ever end??? I would think that if the results were negative, they would have said so on the answering machine, but doctor's offices came be so weird!!

Well, gotta go! I'll check back in later today or tomorrow!

Yeah Bonnie was on TV!!! I knew one of us would be "famous"!!! She's our Bonnie!!! And We are so glad to have her in our family!

Lauter Update: Well, called Makenzie's doctor this morning and she HAS strep!! Unbeleivable!! She has no other syptom other then the rash - no stomach ache, headache, no fever- nothing. Only the Lauter's!! What a way to start the New Year!

Well enough from me now! I'll try to post later! If I don't......
Have a Happy New Year!!! :wizard:

I wish I would have seen Bonnie on the Today show, but I didn't know until now! How exciting!

Julie: You poor guys can't catch a break! This is how you are finishing the old year, it just is going to carry into the new one, but it doesn't count as starting the new year off badly. Hope everyone feels better soon! I get my bread recipes from 3 sources, the book that came with the machine and 2 books that I got. I have tinkered around with a couple to make them my own.

Jeanne: Have fun in CA!

A very mild day today. All the snow is melting!

Just waiting to do the next stpes for my dinner this evening.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Yep I meade it...the first part of the sign said HAPPY NEW YEAR!. :cool1:

What a LONNGGG cold day! we left here at 3:45 AM. :moped: Ended up driving all the way into NYC rather than get on the bus which was good since we got in town at 5:30 and in line by 6AM (after hitting starbucks for coffee). It was cold!!! Unfortunately we stood on the wrong side. The other side got all the air time so next time I know where to stand. We did get those 2 seconds however...mouth wide open! :cheer2:
Never did see Matt Lauer but we did see Ann Currey...what a nice person she seems to be. The weatherman was really personable also.

We then ate breakfast and off to see the windows of the Dept. Stores. If none of you have been to NYC around Christmas it really is a trip to be made. Nobody does it like NYC.

Didn't leave town until about 3:30PM...too late. The crowds were already in Times Square. More cops than I have ever seen in one place. I don't envy them tonight!!

Hi guys, sorry I posted so quickly this morning. We watched Bonnie and off we ran and been gone ever since. I weighed in, had lunch, went to a movie and saw "Christmas with the Kranks", went to Sears, then dinner at Red Lobster and in between was able to talk to Bonnie on the phone. I just feel so privileged that a TV star had time to talk to me on the phone. lol

Julie, sorry about everything going on AGAIN in your house. I am not surprised about Makenzie's strep just showing up with the rash. I think it was my niece that did that once and I am not to be around strep because of my rheumatic fever. Guess it can be deadly. My brother felt sooooo bad but I did just fine. I pop amoxicillin whenever I am around strep

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!

Hi all! Hope you all had a great start to your New Year! Garry worked and ran his butt off! The witch called last night and started her crap! And then this morning she started her crap again! I have never disliked a person so much as I do her. We never did get Anna Marie for Christmas Eve. I broke down and called her to come over Christmas morning so I gave in, that was my heart talking. Now, her mother wants her to go to HER MOTHER's so they can have "family time" but when we wanted her Christmas eve we weren't important enough! Oh well, I had to rant! Sorry to do it on the first day of the New Year!

Well, gotta go! I have to take Anna Marie to her other grandmothers house! What was that about this year will start off better?

I'll check back in later!

Poor Julie, you needed someone to talk to and no one was there to listen. I am here now. Don't ever feel bad about venting. That is what we are all about is to listen and help with each others problems. Sorry that "woman" is being like that. Holidays always seem to be the time of year that brings out the worst in divorced families. Doesn't Garry have a court order vistitation for holidays? When I worked in the court system with the DA's non-support unit and also the District Court we always would strive for written orders to prevent that from happening. Maybe that is something you need to look into. I know, I know it costs money so I do understand though.

Nothing new here. Just checking in. Susan has disappeared for awhile. Hope the family is getting over the flu ok!
