October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

FIRST: Work has been awful. Full every day and as soon as a patient gets a roommate they hate everything! :furious: Still about 20 patients in L & D. I volunteered to work tomorrow because it is my OLD weekend (you know the Joyce weekend) plus it is BIG BUCKS$$$$$$

SECOND: One of the nurses who Joyce and I have worked with for 20 years had her husband die suddenly yesterday. To make matters worse she had to do CPR on him until the EMT's arrived. He was 55 years old and they think it was a heart attack.

THIRD: My girlfriend (the one who used to live with me) from High School tried to committ suicide. She was doing so good. She had gastric bypass surgery, lost lots of weight but still was not happy without a man. She is in the Psych. Unit of a local hospital - no visitors.

DENINE: I don't know if your friend would like to go this far but my daughter went with her boyfriend for about two years. She moved to California, got a teaching job out there while he was still getting his Masters in another part of California, after he graduated she gave him an ultimatum either they are married :bride: by the time she turns 30 or she is moving back to New Jersey. She got married :bride: in July and turned 30 in September. Sometimes you just have to push!

Just wanted to let you know I was still alive but off to work again tomorrow. Hope you all have had a Fantastic Friday. Sandy you sent the warm :sunny: weather our way because it is heating up! Toodles  JEANNE

Forgot to give you a strike update. Right now Labor Relations has the Union and Management in a two week cooling off period so no strike for two weeks but then the Union can strike without giving the hospital any notice. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!

Jeanne: You have had a very difficult week. Hope it gets better!

Supposed to be 90 today! Yeah! I have all my windows open and there is a nice breeze. Of course, everyone else has their windows shut tight with the air on.

Until tomorrow.

What a quiet board! :surfweb: Everyone must be out having fun!

DENINE: So glad to hear Kaleigh is feeling better. It sounds like your friend needs to give her boyfriend an ultimatum! :bride: She just needs to be ready to live with the consequences.

Work is STILL BUSY! Worked with Joyce and the old crew yesterday. Tomorrow I am only working until around 11:30 AM. I was supposed to go to a "Patient Satisfaction Meeting" but I am going to the funeral instead. All the nurses that work with Coletta are doing the food after the funeral since right now Coletta is really strapped for money. To know Coletta is to love Coletta. She is that kind of person.

Tomorrow my cousin, her husband and her mother are coming from Florida. I think it is going to be another crazy week! Right now I am trying to catch up on laundry.

SANDY: You DID send that heat :sunny: this way. It is really hot :sunny: and humid :sunny:.

Hope you all are having a really Sunny Sunday. Miss you all :grouphug: Toodles  JEANNE

Jeanne: How nice of all of you to make the food for after the funeral.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

It was about 90 again today, but more humid, still a wonderful breeze though.
We had a nice day. Jerry got to wash and wax his car and wash mine. My parents came over about 2:30 and we had our indoor BBQ of ribs, baked beans, cole slaw and corn bread. I laso had chips and salsa before we ate and a pie for dessert. Kaleigh was happy to see her grandparents. It is almost time for the princess to go to bed.

Last night, I scrubbed out Kaleigh's little pool and she went swimming. SHe had fun.

Talked to Julie last night too. They sound like they are having fun. They were supposed to eat lunch in Canada today, but they may have gone to Liberty Tree for dinner instead.

It seems like it wants to storm, but it hasn't yet.

Tomorrow, we start back on Weight Watchers very strictly again. I did my treadmill yesterday and today. I upped the speed to 3.4 mph.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Good evening!

Got home about 4:00 from New Mexico. Went to my nephew's wedding. It was very nice. The day after we got there we went out to the bed and breakfast where they were having their OUTSIDE wedding. The temps had been over 100 every day and it was so windy out there we were miserable. It smelled terrible because they had but manuer out in one of the huge fields right next door. Blah.... The day of the wedding, no wind the smell was gone and so were most of the bees. It turned out to be a beautiful wedding. My nephew Kenny cried while he was saying his vows. It was a very touching moment for our family. Got home cleaned, unpacked and got all the laundry done. Ready for work tomorrow.

Jeanne- Tuff week. Hope things are going better for you.

Denine- Will you share some of your recipes?

Think I will take a bath after our long travels and go to bed.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

We got home from NM at 4......I cut the backyard while Rick and Dick unloaded the car. Then we went to a Mexican restaurant for Fathers Day.

Linda left the weekend before we left for the wedding on Tuesday and Rick leaves tomorrow....I hate it when the kids leave. We had a picture taken of all 4 kids and us at Kenny's wedding. Sure hope it turns out good...Dick has wanted a family picture taken for a long time but hard to get the kids together at one time.

Patti made the flower girls dress....it was beautiful and so was the wedding. Brittany was a beautiful bride! It was an evening wedding and they had a swimming pool with floating candles.

Before the wedding, Dylan, Patti's grandson who is 4 fell in the swimming pool. Ken got him out and he was ok except for being scared and wet. He had on a white tux and was suppose to be in the wedding but he had to be stripped and so he wasn't in it...after he got over being scared he was saying I fell in the swimming pool at Bubba's wedding like he was proud of it. :thumbsup2

I am swamped with work inside and out....don't know where to start but glad to be home again.

Wow Barb, anymore weddings this year for you? You are either planning weddings or going to weddings!!!! Gald you guys had a good time.

Sally - that is too cute about Dylan, poor lil guy.

I went and visited the twins yesterday, it is so cute to watch both of them stand up and take off walking. I think Tyler runs now more than walks. It is so fun to be sitting down and they will get up and run right to you to hug you......awww I love it!!!

Jeanne - pixie dust for you for no strike.

Hi guys, just checking in.

Jeanne, BIG HUGS sent your way. Sorry to hear about it all.

Barb and Sally, welcome home.

Denine, sounds like you are doing great on the treadmill.

Heidi, that wasn't nice bragging about seeing the twins. I am going to call her as soon as I get off here to see if she has any plans for today.

My mom's antibiotic was recalled and it said it was contaminated with bacillus pumilus, staphylococcus hominis, propionibacterium acnes or micrococcus luteus. I have to now do some research on that and also try and get her hospital records from both hospitals.

Sandy: Anthrax is bacillus anthracis, propionibacterium acnes is an infection of prosthetic devices. I couldn't find the others in my dictionary.

Barb: Which recipes?

Barb/Sally: Welcome home. The wedding sounded beautiful.

Got a ton of rain last night and this morning but it is nice out now.

May go see Cars at the drive-in tonight.

YIKES Sandy! That is scarey!! I would want to know for sure if that had something to do with her death. Pixie Dust to you and we are here for you!

Heehee I forgot about Dylan falling in the pool. My sister said she right before he fell in she saw Aaron (another of Patty's grandkids) playing like he was going to push Dylan in. Hummmmm

Hey Mom why did you not tell me you were going to a mexican place for dinner. I would have gone! We got home not to long after you did.

Here is a picture that my mom took of Chris, the girls and I at the twins birthday party:

I love that picture Heidi! I just invited Stacey and family for dinner on Wed. Do you guys want to come, too? Oh wait, Chris has school that day, do YOU want to come?

Denine, thank you so much for checking it out! I really appreciate it! Hugs.

And thanks Barb, for your thoughts on my mom.

I saw the babies today. It made my day. Now on to my mom's things. Bye!

Mom - What time is dinner? I want to be home to do laundry since I will be gone from Thursday night - Sunday and I am sure I will be exhausted from this weekend.

Time???? Probably 5.

I just talked to a doctor and she said it was definitely NOT anthrax. Anthrax is a part of the bacillus family but not the same as what it was contaminated with. Phew. Now all I have to do is get medical records.

Worked 6:45 AM until 11:00 AM (I'll never do that again!) then went to the Funeral. Joyce and several other nurses had set up earlier in the day so we just left a little early to start the foods heating up and put out all the salads. It turned out very, very nice. Coletta was sick and laid on the couch for the whole funeral and even back at the church hall. I think all the sadness is making her physically ill.

BARB: Isn't every one in your family married :bride: yet? The wedding sounded beautiful. :bride:

DENINE: So you got the heat too! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

SANDY: Hello to you and Heidi. Have a nice dinner.

My cousin made it up from Florida and we are supposed to get together for a later dinner but I am pretty exhausted so we will see. Miss you all. :grouphug: Toodles  JEANNE

.

Sandy: I wanted to post this earlier, but the server was too busy. From the small amount of research I did here is what I found.

Bacillus pumilus: is an organic ingredient in some pesticides ( bacteria kill bugs) and also used in the baking industry, for what, I don't know. It didn't say anything about diseases.

Staph. hominis: associated with artificial heart valves and intra-arterial and other IV lines. Did not mention any other diseases.

micrococcus luteus: causes endocarditis in people with weakend immune systems. Otherwise, not considered a disease causing bacteria in healthy people.

Now, nothing mentioned what could happen if it was injected into the muscle, but that is what I found.

Jeanne: Sounds like you all did a nice job for the funeral. I can't even begin to imagine what your freinds is going through.

Don't know if we will make it to Cars today because of the weather. popcorn:: If not, we will go tomorrow. I did make up a menu for the week and went shopping. Of course, the grocery store never carries unseasoned pork tenderloin. I have to find that somewhere else. I did my treadmill again today. Three days in a row, pretty good for me lately.

Oh my gosh Denine, I can't believe the research you did. Thank you so much. My mom did have heart problems and was seeing a heart specialist so perhaps the microccocus leutus could have been a danger to her. I wrote both hospitals to get her medical records. Cross your fingers that they will release them to me.

Jeanne, poor Coletta. I am sure his death is very hard on her. I feel so bad for her. I know how I would feel that is for sure!

Once again, thanks a million Denine!!

Wow Denine, I tried to research those individually too but the technical medical terms kept getting me confused so I gave up!!!!

Sending prayers and Pixie Dust to Coletta.

My allergies are killing me today. I have a really bad sinus headache, I hope it goes away!!!!
