Good Morning!

Busy busy busy weekend over. The luncheon went well, we got a lot accomplished, pretty much know where we are going with the flowers and decorations for the wedding.

I got lot of Valentines from my Missionettes. It was kind of fun getting Valentines again, just like in elementry school.

Bob leaves this week. I find myself tearing up every time we talk about it. I do much better living in denial. 3 months sounds like forever right now. Not looking forward to facing things by myself.

Heidi-glad you had fun skiing. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Sandy-How were those fish taco's? Sounds like quite the treat.....NOT!

Jeanne: At least you were able to get out to the park.

Barb: I can't even imagine having Jerry being gone for 3 months. We are here for you even though it is not the same.

My SIL is trying to guilt me into going to nephews 1st communion. I understand we are his godparents, but we will be in WDW. She wanted to know if we could change our dates. I just sent he an email explaining that we have had this trip booked for months and already have the plane tickets and Jerry is making the Chef Mickey's ressies today and the car rental will come soon. Of course, I told her all the ressies had been made. These are the same people that can never make it to Kaleigh's birthday parties because they are too busy.

I have a nasty cold. I just want to go to bed, but I can't until Kaleigh does.

Julie: How is you dad doing? It is getting close to that 6 week mark isn't it? Pixie dust being sent his way. :wizard:

Just trying to lay low.

We ordered flowers to be delivered to Jerry's mom tomorrow. We didn't want her to feel forgotten on Valentine's Day. I think we will send both moms flowers for Mothers Day since we will be in WDW.

We have Chef Mickey's ressies for May 9th. :woohoo:

What is your favorite character dinner food wise?

Barb - it is going to be a long and hard 3 months for you, but we are here for you forever and always.

Fish Tacos are SOOOOO good. I really like them but like the rest of you I was very leery on trying them. The mexican restaurant in Monument has the best Fish tacos (or maybe burritos??) My mom introduced them to me there, haven't been back yet to have one to myself instead I just ate off my mom's!!!

Denine - that is really sweet that you are taking care of your MIL for Valentines Day.

Oh I forgot to report that I replaced *&%#$% smoothie maker with a Kitchen aid blender. LOVE IT!! Easier to clean and works a *%ll of a lot better! :rolleyes1

Can you tell I am still bitter with &# :teeth: *%$ smoothie maker!

Barb a special hug is sent your way. I know it will be a very hard week for you. We are all :grouphug: here for you and you can type away and get it all out. Gosh, we even listen to you about your smoothie maker! :rotfl2: As Heidi told you, a restaurant in Monument has the best fish burritos. That is what turned me onto fish tacos. The burritos are smothered in a mild cream sauce.

Jeanne, I talked to Bonnie this weekend about all your snow. It must have been very pretty. Good thing :thumbsup2 you didn't have to work!

Heidi, I didn't realize that Sable is a wimp :rotfl: now about snow. How funnY!

Denine, that has to be hard to try and figure out a reason to cancel AGAIN! :confused3 We have never been for a character dinner in WDW just DL. We have only done the breakfast at Chef Mickeys in WDW. I think you guys are the greatest for sending Jerry's mom flowers tomorrow. It will mean so much to her to know she isn't forgotten!

I won't be on early tomorrow so let me beat everyone to:

 HAPPY VALENTINES DAY !!!!

Sorry mom, yours doesn't count because it is not the actual day.

Good Morning!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Made chocolate strawberry smoothies this morning for Valentines day in my new smoothie maker. YEAH! No spills!!

Today is Bob's last day here. I am tying to prepare myself but don't think there is any way to do it. 3 months seems soooooo long right now. :sad1:
Thanks for all the support. I am filling my days up with stuff to do hoping it will help.

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone,
an hour to like someone and a day to love someone -
but takes a lifetime to forget someone

No reply yet from SIL about the communion party. I forgot to mention that they couldn't be bothered to come to the calling hours for Jerry's dad either.

Jerry's mom was so worried that everyone was going to forget about her when Jerry's dad died, so that is why we did it. She visited with the grief counselor yesterday for a long time. Jerry encouraged her to keep up with the visits because things and feelings change as time goes by the first year.

We are going to do Chef Mickey's for dinner too. Kaleigh wants to eat breakfast and dinner with Mickey. We suggested Pooh, but she wanted Mickey.

Car rental ressies are made. At least it is starting to feel closer to this trip now that we are doing some of this stuff. We were going to drive, but the prices for everything came down so much that we decided to fly.

Barb: Enjoy tonight!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE! :lovestruc

I have everything ready for our wine and cheese party tonight. I have the cheese on the counter coming to room temperature. We went to Trader Joe's last night and bought some crusty bread and a case of assorted wines. You get a 10% discount when you buy a case. I have Kaleigh in a cute pink dress with hearts and bunnies and I have on a jumper. I feel more like wearing sweats though.

I also bought some decaf chocolate tea last night. It is good, but not as chocolately as I thought it would be. I also have jello squares firming in the fridge. Kaleigh helped make them. That is her treat for Valentine's Day.

I couldn't bring myself to cancel on Judy again so I e-mailed her DH with my excuse and told him to tell her I called while she was out. I know we aren't REALLY cancelling, but she doesn't know that. Now, to get her a birthday present.

I hope you all have a nice Valentine's Day!

I need some input. Hope I can explain this and make sense.

I booked a place in the mountains for Missy's wedding and reception it is called Pine crest, I may have given you guys the link. Anyway our deposit is not refundable so we have been trying to decide how to use it. There is a lodge, chapel and event center. We have 2 events coming up this summer. Tiffany's graduation which I thought I had the pool on the AFB decided but then they decided no more private parties grrrrrr. So now I have been searching for another spot. Colorado does not have the cool places like the East has. There are a few (Very few) parks but with the weather being so unpredictable and since they are open to the public I really don't want to do that. So I called Pine Crest and they are available on Memorial Day. (The Monday after she graduates) Our deposit would cover a lot of the expense but we would still owe $1000 but that would include food. I would never consider a graduation party costing that much if we didn't already have so much into it.

The second thing is Jason and Michelle's rehersal dinner. Pine Crest has the lodge open on that night but it is so far from their wedding spot and a lot of her family is from out of town. She is only thinking 40 people for the rehersal dinner. The lodge is this huge house thing with about 12 bedrooms a large living room with a big screen TV and a kitchen etc. We will only need it for a few hours so not sure I want to use it for that either. :confused3

I even thought about a family reunion but this year we have 2 weddings in the summer and Tiffany's graduation so if family is traveling it will be for the weddings. with the graduation and the Jason wedding being only a week apart it will be too hard to plan anything else. I thought about the Fall but then again we run into out of town family not going to be able to come twice. I have to use Pine Crest by the end of the year.

Any thoughts?

Barb- that sounds like a tough situation. I will think about it during my boring meeting and give you my imput later.

Thanks Heidi!- I knew I could count on you! I wish I was better about
making decisions. I always second guess myself. Of course I did throw my smoothie maker out without even a second thought! No wait that was a temper thing :furious:

 HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

So does that one count Heidi? :thumbsup2

Barb, what a predicament. It sounds bad but I think I would choose the cheaper way out. Whatever it may be. A family reunion would be awesome BUT would people really want to travel twice like you said. Geez, hopefully someone else can come up with an idea for you!

We aren't doing anything exciting for Valentines Day like Denine. You have it so planned out. It sounds PERFECT!! And by the way, don't put your sweats on! ;)

Where is Julie? :confused3 She has been missing A VERY LONG TIME!! Miss your posts Julie. Come out, come out where ever you are. AND THAT GOES FOR YOU TOO SALLY!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Hi all! Sorry to be MIA lately. I've been busy with silly stuff. The Big Guy had his first birthday party invite this past friday. It was a bowling party and boy are boys DIFFERENT then girls!! WOW! Nine 5yr old boys are loud! I know I'm nuts, but we are going to have a "kid" party for the big guy this year. Since his birthday was on Superbowl sunday and with me being so busy with cookie stuff, Brooke's late birthday party and the stuff with my dad, we decided to skip the "family" party for him this year. We had a little party with just the 6 of us so he blew out candles and had cake and presents too. We are just skipping the normal (ok normal is the wrong choice of words, right Denine? LOL) cousins and stuff party.

Denine, I figured we could get together before you guys go to WDW and we could have a mini party for him so the girls have a "party" to go to. What do you think? Let me know.

We aren't doing anything special tonight either for Valentines day. BUT I did get a lovely card and a dozen red roses this morning! I got Garry some stuff for his office. Maybe this weekend I can go in and take some pictures of his office so you can see the work we have been doing in it.

Our bathroom is now starting to look like a bathroom then a war zone! I'm been spending most of my spare time working in the bathroom. We now have some paint up and it looking like I picked a good color. I chose a light mint green color and will accent it with plum and forrest green. Next is our livingroom will get the paint treatment! I picked a blue that is called providence (Home Depot) If you want to look at the color. The woodwork will be a beige-ish color called baked scone and the hall way will be cup of cocoa (I think) which is a dark tan. All the colors will go with my kitchen colors so at least the house will start looking like it one house and not a hodge podge of different ones.

Barb, I'll be thinking of you! Always remember that we are here for you! Give Bob a huge hug from us! Garry is suppose to go to the FBI academy for 10 weeks (we don't know when he will be going though) and I complete understand what you are feeling! The thought of him gone for only 10 weeks.... well, I know how you feel!!!! I will think about your "problem" with the lodge.

Well, gonna run. I'll back later tonight or tomorrow! I promise!!!

Hey, how about we open gifts either this Sat. or next sat night? What do you think? WHO STILL doesn't have a gift?

Julie - I still do not have a gift :(

Barb - With the graduation party....can the girls and your family spend the night in the lodge? Would the stay be included in the $1,000
