Sandy- there were several in the house that needed a slap or two.....game or no game I could never lie, cheat or be mean like they are. It sure brings out the worse in people or else it shows how they really are inside.....

Mom - who is Angie? Do you mean Jennifer?

I can't stand anyone left, I didn't have a favorite this year but I guess I was rooting for Rachel. I was kinda glad that Janelle won HOH so that the Friendship still have someone else going home!!!! I think Janelle or Maggie will win.

Mom - you can't forget Salsa, or else I will go dry and have to buy nasty store bought salsa!!!!

Sandy- do you have a favorite salsa recipe? We are going to do tomatoes and salsa...the recipe I have is called Zesty Salsa and is from the Ball canning book.....

Hi everyone!

So glad it is Friday. Hummmm I think I say that every week!

My head feels like it going to explode today. I am done with being sick!
I just want to feel better.

Jaymee called me crying yesterday because she could not get the garage door open. I had to leave work early to meet the repair guy. The spring that we just replaced in August had broken again.

Tiffany is freaking out today. It is senior picture day for her and she called me this morning in tears because her face is swollen and broken out and doesn't know what she will wear everything looks bad...blah blah blah....I told her to chill I am sure she looks great. I called the salon to see if I could get her in for a facial before she gets her hair done to calm her down. I sure don't remember my other kids acting like this. Boy do we have drama at our house!

Bob should be home either today or tomorrow we are just waiting on the official word.

Denine-How fun Kaleighs birthday and to think she was only tinny tiny when we met!

Bonnie-STOP LUSTING OVER THE SERVER!!! :rotfl:

Barb

Sally, I do have a favorite salsa recipe:
Chop in food processor:
1/2 bushel roma tomatoes, peeled. Hint: to peel place in hot water for a few seconds,
3 lg onions
3 green peppers
few leaves of fresh cilantro
2 4oz cans jalapenos, I like more
2 4oz cans gr chilies
6T garlic salt
1T dried garlic
shakes of garlic power
6T vinegar
3T salt
Boil 20 minutes. Put in jars. Hot water bath for 35 minutes.

Heidi, I said Angie but I did mean Jennifer. Someone needs to slap that girl.

Barb, poor Tiff, everything is a crisis. Hope you get to feeling better.

I found tomatoes so my night and tomorrow will be spent canning double the recipe above! Oh how I wish I never introduced my family to homemade salsa!!

Thanks Sandy....how many jars and what size..pt or qt....does that make? I was going to get a bushel of tomatoes at the farmers market Monday....I don't know if they have Roma or not....was just going to get regular size

I invited Patti up to join in the fun but she prefers to go to the grocery store and I think she is not telling the truth about that...I think Ken goes to the store..... :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Anyone that prefers to eat out doesn't do too much shopping..... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sally, you are way too funny!!!! I can in pint jars and I am thinking that it makes 12 jars. I use roma tomatoes because they are less juicy and the salsa is a little thicker. But you can get around that by boiling the salsa a little longer.

I am thinking......6T garlic salt, lT dried garlic, shakes of garlic powder ( now that tells me a lot...depending on how nervous you are?) that you probably don't have many colds or friends :rotfl2:

Happy Friday everybody!

Yes Sandy, Mom is soooo funny isn't she? But I have to admit, it's true. I'm so very spoiled. Ken does the shopping and the cooking and now I know what it's like to be a man. You come home and smell food! :love2:

Denine, I can so relate to the funk. I have a hard time even looking at the pictures because it makes me sad that it's over. Mom says, don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Why couldn't I get more of her optimistic attitude?

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going to scope out a wedding site with my future daughter in law. She has her heart set on getting married outside and there's not a lot to choose from here. Keep your fingers crossed that we find something perfect for her.

Worked 7P-7A last night. The last of the BONUS$$$$$$ shifts. Work was VERY busy while we were on the cruise :boat: and is STILL busy! September tends to be a very busy month - nine months from Christmas & New Year's!

My eye Dr. reversed my monovision & I now wear the one contact in my right eye :magnify:. Working night shift wasn't a good time to try the reversal.

I want to go shopping too!

Talked with Bonnie this week. Worked with Joyce & we did manage to go to Los Amigos Wednesday night :drinking1 after work for the usual - margaritas, salad & crabcakes. My weekend to work so off to bed early tonight.

I miss Silvio too! There was something about him.

Can't wait until the next cruise :boat: Thinking of doing a little North Carolina vacation in June with the whole family & dogs :dog: :dog:

Miss you all :grouphug: Have a great weekend :sunny: Toodles  :genie: JEANNE

My spoiled daughter.....but she doesn't act spoiled....that is what I always told the kids....they were spoiled but if they ever acted like it it was to the dime store to get their clothes.....of course now days we don't have woolworths.....

I got some more of my fall things out and am decorating the living room...I have to shampoo the carpet again.....once it was shampooed every little bit of dirt shows up....then tomorrow we are going to an all day crop..yeah!

Have a great weekend everyone.....God is good and so is chocolate.....

See Barb!!! I'm not the only one!! Maybe it was those latin eyes, 5 o'clock shadow, accent...I don't know but he sure beat "Squiggy"! :rotfl:

Hope you feel better Barb. Mine is loosening up a bit.

Got a bouquet of roses for my birthday from my staff today, and a small bunch from the admin. in our region. I showed the menu's to everyone today...my boss is ready to book! She is a disney addict.

I have made that salsa. Don't like it. It has too much vinegar in it. I stilll have a jar and I made it several years ago. Guess I need to clean out the pantry!

Nothing going on today. Had a good first day back at work. Came home to pancakes. Took Jazz to the vet for his shots. Our vet is going on the 3 day wonder next week. She has never been on a Disney cruise. She is really excited now!

Came home and me and Kaleigh took naps. Got her up at 6:15 PM and she was a wreck. It was like she was terrified of something. It took me 45 minutes to calm her down. She was crying so much. She still hasn't told us what was wrong. I guess no bath tonight.

No plans for this weekend. I was thinking of going to the ballgame on Sunday, but it is a night game.

Sandy: Have fun making salsa!

My brother isn't coming to Kaleigh's party, no surprise there. My nephew has a baseball game that afternoon.

I just started looking at the live thread yesterday. I skiiped a lot of posts too.

Denine, you have to have the vinegar to balance the acid in canning recipes for proper sealing. This recipe is only 6 T for 25 lbs of tomatoes. I am not big fan on vinegar and you can't even tell it is in this recipe.

Sally, I get the roma tomatoes at fruit and veg market (stores). You can also get them at the farmers market if it isn't too late in the season. GRocery store tomatoes aren't as good for canning. They just don't have the flavor.

Bonnie, glad that you are finally loosening up. Your cough sure sounded awful. Roses? How nice! They really love you!

Jeanne, I am one of those Sept babies along with Bonnie. I guess we were made over the holidays! We have managed to go to Armadillos twice since we have been back.

Patty, I am sooooooooooooo jealous of you. You are certainly spoiled by Ken. You know what....your mom has the right attitude about the vacation. I will have to try and remember that!

Last one yesterday, first one today. Busy people!

Sally, this post is for you. The salsa recipe made 20 pints. We made 20 yesterday and have started in today for another 20.....6 so far.

Went out to breakfast today at Cracker Barrel they were having a huge sidewalk sale. I got one of their rocking chairs for 1/2 price...now where to put it?
There is a Disney Store reunion tomorrow at Applebees. A bunch of former cast members getting together, many of us opened the store. Can't wait to see the old ones...some of whom have moved to FL and work for WDW. Found out that the nurses that work in the park are employed by Disney and are considered professional staff so they get a silver pass...hmmm....maybe I will run away to FL!

Sandy: I know why the vinegar is needed, but the Ball recipe is waaay overpowered by vinegar. I will have to try your recipe someday, when I have time to do stuff like that again. Could you just e-mail it to me so I don't have to copy it?

It is a gorgeous day again today. We went to BJ's and dropped off the 1st 8 rolls of film and shopped. We also went to Trader Joe's for more Airborne. Don't want to get sick from allergy season.

Kaleigh is still napping, she went down late, but I am NOT waking her up like yesterday!

More about the trip; Disneyland was great! We had never been before, so didn't know really what to expect. It was croded, of course, and we only had 3 days. We were only able to do most things once. There were rides we would have liked ot have gone on again and shows we wanted to see, but couldn't. We will go back someday and stay in a Dsieny Resort. We LOVED Goofy's Kitchen. It was very much like Chef Mickey's, but the food was better and it wasn't so loud. We spent most of our time in the Magic Kingdom. There were a ton of rides in Fantasyland that we could do together, a lot more than in FLA. Toon TOwn was great! So differnt than TOonTown Fair in FLA. Spent some time in CA, but there isn't as much to do for kids Kaleig's age. There was a nice place to get a glass of wine though! They did have a kids area called Fliks Fun Fair which had some neat rides. Kaleigh loved it! We also saw Playhouse DIsney. Kaleigh had been talking about seeing this for weeks. While we were sitting and waiting, she turned around and gave us both big hugs and kisses. I took it that she was happy!
Downtown Disney was nice in that there were performers everywhere in the evening performing all kinds of music. FLA was much better shopping though.

Bonnie: You have to tell the story about the weirdo lady!

Julie: When I have all my pictures put together, you guys can come over for a boring evening of watching the video tapes and looking at pictures. We will provide the alcohol!
