October 19, 2008 4 day Bahama - anyone else?

Only 10 days?!?!?! :scared1:
Is this still accurate as far as everyone knows?
Day 1: Embark / casual dining
Day 2: At Sea / casual dining - SEMI FORMAL
Day 3: Nassau / pirate night
Day 4: CC / dressy night - SEMI-CASUAL
And does anyone know how the shows coordinate with these days?

I got an email 2 days ago confirming the dining. I indicated the differences in what I was told in red.

She gave me the names of the shows but not the schedule, the are no longer publishing them in advance.

Hope this helps ~
We leave in 9 days!

Thank you! This makes a lot more sense. It was kind of silly to have the CC day as the dressy night, especially for those with early dining.

I'm still packing my little black dress that I JUST BOUGHT  . Argh, if they really ditch formal night, I'll be a little annoyed! I was hoping to get a nice family portrait that night with everyone in their best frocks! I'll be quite disappointed if they don't at leaast have a semi-formal night (which is a better description of how we are dressing anyway).

Yeah but it sorta ticks me off...I requested my dining based on what I was told numerous times after the change...I also have our Palo dining that night...

Oops, I just reread the earlier post. I glossed over where it said Semi-Formal and read it as Semi-Casual like the bottom one. Slow down and read the words, Beth! :rolleyes1 Can I blame it on lack of coffee? I had only had a few sips when I posted earlier, LOL!

I'm not worried about them cancelling it, if they do, I still intend to wear my special red dress I have been saving for the cruise. DH & DS also have new suits. I want to get pictures of the 3 of us all gussied up.

I figured that would be the case with the whole ship, especially if they change things this close to sailing. I can't wait to see you all gussied up in your red dress! I almost bought a red dress, too but the black one I tried on was more slimming, so of course I'll take that one, LOL! Tomorrow I will get the luggage out and start to pack. I want to be totally done by Sunday so Monday I'll only have to wrap up work and any other little last minute details. The last thing I want to be doing is a load of laundry on Monday! I do have to get the old scuba gear down from the attic to see if my prescription mask is still in there for our snorkeling excursion. That's the last big to-do on my list.

It's getting so close! We fly out on Tuesday morning!! :cool1:

I have been working darn hard to get my figure back so I look good in this dress. I've been going to the gym 3 times a week since May.
Which by the way, does anyone know how soon the gym onboard opens on the embarkment day. After the long drive down from PA I was hoping to work some kinks out of my body by going to the gym for a workout. If it's open as soon as we get onboard I will pack my gym outfit in my carry-on. I plan on going to the DIS meet at the Mickey Pool at 3 and the Muster is at 5? and I don't think the gym is open after dinner, so if it's not open earlier I may have to wait till Monday.

Wow! Tons of good info on these boards... we are passholders and will be on the Oct 19 cruise with 3 kids -- 11, 9, 5 -- this is our 2nd cruise on Disney Wonder... this whole FH thing is new from 5 years ago. Also, so is the boarding thing... isn't there a special check in area for Castaway Club members??

what type of Scout badges are you referring to? Did I read it right that they kept the pirate night on the 3rd night? We specifically booked Palo to NOT be on pirate night... now they have changed it all.. that is upsetting.

:welcome: aboard Pinkdress & crew. Not too long anymore!:thumbsup2

Congrats on getting into shape! :cheer2: I have been doing the same - I just hit my goal 2 weeks ago after losing 27 lbs since Feb, and now I'm on maintenance. I had planned on doing this 100 push up challenge thing to get myself toned, but I flaked! However, I got my braces off yesterday, so I feel like a new woman! I had to have a "re-do" on the braces because I didn't wear my retainers after having them as a teen and they all fell back into their old crooked places. So for my 40th birthday last year I got braces :rotfl:

I am hoping we'll do enough walking during the first half of our vacation in the parks so I don't have to worry too much about what I eat (or drink!)!

I found a Navigator from a June cruise which shows the fitness open on the first day from noon - 10pm so I think you are in luck! Here is a link: http://*******.com/54yw8j

Welcome to the group! I hope you're able to change your Palo night, but if not, I heard the pirate festivities get started late, so you probably won't miss much if you have an earlier reservation.

There are a bunch of boys in the group that are cub scouts and boy scouts, so we thought it would be fun to bring some local patches along and exchange them at some point on the cruise. Are you a scouting family?

pinkdress and crew-- Welcome aboard. I've added you to our roll call list on page 1, post 14.

I've sent a message to my TA to see if she can get a confirmation on the costume changes AGAIN. It would make more sense not to have to get dressed up on the night following the day at Castaway Cay--- I think that's what we were saying all along. Can't believe they waited until now to change it, though.

Cheers,

Welcome!! Are your children boys or girls? We don't have very many girls on this meet!
It's getting close!

Welcome aboard, pinkdress. I too was upset when I learned about the changes made to the schedule. I had Palo reservations on what turned out to be Pirate Night. At first, I was disappointed that I would be missing the Pirate menu in the dining rooms and even considered moving my Palo reservations but none of the other nights worked for me as I didn't want to miss any of the dining rooms and didn't want to do Palo Brunch and dinner on the same day. However, since my reservation is at 6p and the festivities don't start until after 9p, it looks like I won't miss the main event. So, I decided to keep my Palo dinner on Pirate Night. My sons will either dine with my DM and DS in the dining room or with the kids club.

You might consider doing this as an option.

There's a gym onboard? ;) :rotfl:

9 days to go!!:woohoo:

Had my TA call DCL this morning to confirm their change to dress code again. I've posted the updated version on page 1. This is so frustrating!!!

Cheers,
