We are driving and leaving early, I hope, Wednesday morning. We will stop somewhere around Hilton Head and then head to WDW on Thursday. We have dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Thursday night.

Shannon, once you come down from your 37,000 foot high, I will pick you guys up at MCO. Don't pack too much or you may have to ride on the roof! We have dinner reservations at 7:00 I think so we should have some free time from when you get in till then to do what you guys want.

Hope everyone has a safe trip to the port and we will see you on the Magic!

We'll be there too! We have reservations at 6 at Chef Mickeys. My dad will be in a scooter and my youngest will be dressed like Harry Potter. Not sure about oldest DS - we are headed out shopping now.

I am so ready for vacation - it is snowing here and they just cancelled the Rockies game!

I wish we lived close enough to drive...personally I don't care for flying that much. Also, I was just getting my info together before we leave, and when I double checked my car rental confirmation, Budget more than doubled the price of the van so now I have to call them and find out what the heck they are doing to my reservation

By some family's standards, we don't live close enough to drive either but we're probably closer to Florida than you are if it would take you more than 15 hours to drive straight through. Even when gas was 4.00 a gallon it was still significantly cheaper to drive than to pay for airfare and ground transportation for the five of us.

I would be interested on an update on your van reservation. If you have the original quote with the lower price in writing, doesn't the company have to honor it?

getting ready to head out to Walmart and Target to pick up some last things for the trip...can't believe how close it is getting! We'll be at the terminal at this time next week...woohoo!!

I was at the Walmart end of town today so I stopped in to return something. I got an amazingly good parking space and the return line was so short, I could have been in and out in five minutes. Unprecedented! It seemed like a waste of good opportunity to leave so quickly, so I walked around for 15 or so minutes to see if there was anything on the shelves and racks jumping out at me screaming, "buy me for the cruise". Nothing did, so I left without buying anything -also unprecedented.

I tried to call them today, but I have to talk to customer service, not reservations and customer service won't be back until monday morning. I plan on calling them first thing, I will update with a report when I get done talking to them. I would think they would have to make good on the original reservation, but we will see. I went thru the steps to dummy book it again just to see what price it would be if I were to book it today, and it was only about 50 dollars more than my original reservation, not the double my confirmation has it for. I went ahead and booked with Avis just in case budget doesn't go my way, I figure I can cancel my Avis reservation once I get the budget one settled, I just wanted options.

I am not sure I would drive if I lived 15 hours away either...even though I hate flying, that is a long time to have DS trapped in the car, and the rest of the family is all about airplanes. Since we live in California, if is a definate not drive for us.

I am almost done packing for DS, then I can start thinking about what I didn't pack. I should have made a list, it would have helped.

Hi guys! I just saw the Magic leave port via webcam! When it returns, we will be on board it!!! Really is an amazing sight online .

We're half packed. Still toiletries and some clothing, shoes to put in and such.. but we're nearly there at least. I have to look for something that I don't know where it is.. and that's the worst thing to look for isn't it?

Anyway, we leave oh so soon and I don't think I'll ever 'feel ready' until I'm right out that door!

As exciting as it is to think when the Magic returns I will be getting on it, I am still trying to figure out how to get to FL on Wed. Looks like DW will have to go to Tampa. Thank goodness my friend who works for DVC said we can go pick her up.

Yes, that drives me crazy because almost always I can retrace my steps mentally and find what I'm looking for. So, of course, the rare instances that I can't, it's really unnerving. What has recently been happening is that I am not the last person to lay hands even though I think I was. If it's my music cd's missing, I have to seek out my oldest son. If it's anything like scissors, tapes, tools, incendiary devices, electronic components or wire, I ask my middle son.

Anyway, we leave oh so soon and I don't think I'll ever 'feel ready' until I'm right out that door!

Me neither. I just thank God for credit cards and Walmart. If I forgot it (except for id and tickets), we can pick it up when we get to Florida. Now watch me go forget something like all the FE gifts.

Debbie - How are you doing with your packing? I know you said you will not overpack.

Hopefully not a mistake, but I am going to assemble the FE gift packages in WDW, so that I have more room in the suitcases.

I hate packing too! I actually went to Kohl's today and bought two more bags. I really tried but could not get all our stuff in two suitcases. The snorkel gear alone takes up alot of space!

Only 4 more days before we leave -- we are leaving work early Thursday to start driving it takes us about 12-14 hours want to be in Disney World early Friday-- need to renew annual passes then have dinner reservations -- now all I have to do is pack --we too bought a new suitcase yesterday but at Target-- and to clean the car like to vacuum it before we travel-- stop at the pharmacy and about 20 other things on our list-- then in the car Thursday our goal is to leave work around 12-1 be on the road by 4:00 - 4:30 Hopefully it will happen that way-- see you all on Saturday-- Momsully -- our friends are coming from Colorado Springs and I am sure they are glad to be coming someplace warm too.

I looked him up last night, and wow, he is one fast dude! Considering the record is just under 8 hours, he must have ranked pretty high. Are the final results out yet? How did he do for his category? My brother-in-law, the one who is coming with us on the cruise, competed in the Ironman in November of 2000 in Panama City Beach. We all went to Panama City Beach to volunteer with the race and give him moral support.

Am I too late to add my name to the list? My friend, Theresa, and I just decided to book on Friday! Girls trip this time -- leaving the husbands at home. So, I have a week to lose 20 pounds! LOL

I know I should read this whole thread to catch up on everything, but I'm way too lazy and I have too much laundry to do. Are you wearing something special to identify each other? Is there a specific place/time, where we can meet everyone?
