Am I too late to add my name to the list? :) My friend, Theresa, and I just decided to book on Friday! Girls trip this time -- leaving the husbands at home. So, I have a week to lose 20 pounds! LOL

I know I should read this whole thread to catch up on everything, but I'm way too lazy and I have too much laundry to do. Are you wearing something special to identify each other? Is there a specific place/time, where we can meet everyone? :)

Woo-hoo! 6 days to go.....

Welcome to our Cruise thread! Better late than never! We are all very excited and most of us are in the final prep/packing stages now. Only 4 more days till we leave!

Our cutoff for FE was Sept 1 to ensure enough time to make/purchase the gifts.

We are meeting on in the Promenade lounge at 3pm on Embarkation day. We'd love to see you and your friend there!

I looked him up last night, and wow, he is one fast dude! Considering the record is just under 8 hours, he must have ranked pretty high. Are the final results out yet? How did he do for his category? My brother-in-law, the one who is coming with us on the cruise, competed in the Ironman in November of 2000 in Panama City Beach. We all went to Panama City Beach to volunteer with the race and give him moral support.

My friend Chris came in 2nd in the mens. He was leading until the last 2min of the race, until the defending champ overtook him. Bummer when you consider he'd been racing for 8 hours:crazy2:, but 2nd is still very impressive and super exciting for him and his family!

:welcome: Rhonda. If you can lose 20 lbs in 6 days you will be my hero. I gave up on that goal about last week. :rotfl:

We are not wearing anything special.. But we are meeting at 3pm in the Promonade lounge on embarkment day.

April - Are you still going to make a tent card for a table?

Rhonda - I see you are from Florida, I just noticed they are calling for thunderstorms mid week !! We arrive Wednesday and are going to the MNSSHP on Thrusday. Hoping we don't get rained on, like we did 2 Aprils ago for the Pirates and princess party. We were wet messes.

fyi, an Oct Western cruiser posted that the Trick or Treating was Day 3 (Key West day) at 4:30pm, with a deck party at the end. They said it was super crowded and a bit chaotic, so they pulled their kids out. Here's the thread:

Some other q's: What are your plans in case there is rain? I understand the Captain trys to steer the ship clear of rain, but in port it's a good chance we'll have some. Are you bringing any rain gear? I might throw in our kids ponchos, but my DH & I will probably just brave it. Also, I'm only bringing short sleeve sweaters. I've heard it can be pretty windy on deck, will I be warm enough if we want to step out for a bit at night?

Kim - thanks for the post on the halloween party.

We just read that there was rain, so I put in our very lightweight rain jackets. Like I said I probably over pack, but I know that I get cold when coming from outside and going inside to airconditioning so I have a lightweight ship up jacket. Most of my clothes are short sleeve or sleeveless.

The only other time I have been on the cruise in 1999 it rained in the evening at Nassua and so skipped the fireworks. Hoping they just do it a different time if can not do it when in Cozumel.

AAHHGG!!!

I was in the middle of load 1 of my last 2 loads of laundry and my washing machine just broke! :furious:

At least it was in the rinse cycle so I just wrung out the clothes and put in the dryer. Now I need to figure out if I just do without the other load, wash at a friends sometime this week, or wash a few remaining items on the boat :headache:

The worst part is we won't have a washer when we get back to do all the post cruise laundry! At least I know now and I can try to do some on the ship before we head home...

What a night - oh, and my husband is out of town until the night before we leave :sad2:

Well I am still not packed, but I think I have narowed down how I am flying out to FL on Wed. Should be in Orlando by 7:00 P.M. Now I just need to figure out were to eat Wed. night. The more I think about it, I should probably start packing. I hope the ship will pick up the TBS feed for the NL playoffs since my beloved Dodgers are in the next round that starts Thursday. I will be at ESPN club watching that game Thursday night.

The Time Has Come To Say Goodbye To All My Family F-L-O-R-I-D-A H-E-R-E W-E C-O-M-E see Everyone on the ship! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

April - Are you still going to make a tent card for a table?

Already done, and sitting in the pile of paperwork to bring. :thumbsup2 Sadly I am working through Friday morning until an hour or so before we leave for the airport. I run a pet sitting company, which I've probably mentioned by now, and I have a client who is away this week through Saturday, so I told her I'd squeeze in a Friday visit before I left to tide her over. So a visit with Maggie the cat, and off the the airport! :lmao:

well, i am packed (sort of)... just have to do last minute ironing.... My husband is not packed yet...DD's will pack today...

I cant wait to get on that ship and DO NOTHING!!!!!!

Hooray for all of us!!!!!:banana::banana:

I tried to keep it to 3 suitcases for the 5 of us and can't. Oh well!! I think we will wind up with 5 checked bags as 1 will be a wheeled garment bag with our formal clothes and dress shoes. I must have 30 shirts in a pile haha.

Kim - Yuck. What rotten luck. I agree part of the worst part is not having post cruise.

Alan - How about Raglen Road in DTD for the first night. We are probably just going to do Earle of Sandwich on Wednesday night, since we get in so late, but we do plan to wander around DTD since we will still be on west coast time.

Steve - Have a good trip see you Saturday.

April - Say hi to Maggie. Our cat will be pissed at us, but we have a good friend checking in on him.

Ok.. My camera broke yesterday. I was changing out the memory card and the cover fell off and it will not work without it. Luckly DH doesn't have any commitments tomorrow with the school, so he will head off to a camera shop where hopefully they have better eyes than we do to try to get the battery/memory card cover back on. I do not want to spend more money on a new camera. :headache:

We have nothing packed yet -- we work much better under pressure. I have a lot of lists in my head. Today I am finishing door magnets, FE gifts and laundry. Tomorrow I will start making piles of clothes to iron. We won't put everything in the suitcases until Thursday morning. Our flight is at 1:30. Since this is our 2nd cruise I am much more relaxed about everything.
We are sooooooooooo looking forward to this vacation!:cool1:

I have to look for something that I don't know where it is.. and that's the worst thing to look for isn't it?

I am so right there w/ you!! Missing stuff I bought a few months ago. I'll have to look around for it one of these nights - didn't have time yesterday.

Most of the laundry is done. I put all the kids clothes in a pile in the suitcase on the floor. Did almost all tolietries, meds (just in case stuff) & odd & ends. Need to charge batteries at night this week. I'm off Thurs & Fri w/ no one around, so Thurs I'll lay out the clothes & do a final check before putting each persons into the suitcases. Fri I want to clean up the house - bathrooms, wash everyone's sheets, before we leave when the kids get home for the airport.

OK - getting paranoid on one thing & need reassurance!!! In Grand Cayman we have the Pirate encounter booked from 1:45-4:30, however the Navigators say last tender is at 4. They have to wait for us, right???? Since it's a ship sponsered shore excursion, I believe that to be true, but it's been many years since we cruised & never on Disney, so I'm just trying to get rid of my fears!!!!

Hi everyone,

it's thanksgiving here in canada, so we have the day off. Yesterday we did most of the packing, we bought our last fe gifts, we bought new clothes for the formal nights (we are not very formal ppl!).

so everything is pretty much ready. We fly on friday morning for ottawa, and thursday I work until 7h30pm, so i think it'll be a long night thursday finishing up everything.

we are soooooo excited! we have been waiting for so long of this (eventhough some of you booked in 2008!!!), it seems impossible we'll be on a plane in 4 days!!

see you sonn!

Hello!

We are down to 48 hours before our flight to Orlando!! Starting packing last night, and seem to be doing okay on space. My niece made my DD a great pirate outfit for pirate night and MNSSHP. She has been wearing for the last 48 hours. Been telling her we need to wash it for our trip.

Unfortunately, DD has been fighting the sniffles for the last two days, ohhhh nooo! Been pumping her full of benadryl drying to dry her out. Oh well, would rather have her down for a little bit at WDW then being on the ship and under the weather.

Oh shoot, I did not even think about rain. I have both kids packed and a pile of my stuff sitting on my suitcase. At least I only have to pack for 3 this trip and not the 5 I normally have to. I guess I will throw in a travel umbrella and light rain coats for the kids, if I can find them. It has not rained here since May or June, so I have no idea where rain stuff is.

I am taking my kids on Capt. Marvins stingray city tour in Grand Cayman. I am freaked out about them snorkeling in the ocean when it is just me there to watch them without my husband. My mom will be there also, but I don't think she is strong enough to hold onto them for a long time in the ocean. So I decided to bring kick-boards for them to float on. They are not huge, but two more things to throw into the suitcase. I think I would rather have them, then be sorry I do not.

Everyone is healthy and I am praying for no surprises the next week.

Time goes by so slowly until the last week and then it starts moving too fast! I can't believe I still haven't completely packed or decided what exactly I am bringing. I am always torn apart by shoe decisions! Also, my hubby thinks we should each be able to make it with 1 checked bag per person, but I think I need a carry-on, too. With snorkel gear, Halloween costumes, and of course SHOES I am worried about exceeding my 50 lb. limit without an extra bag.

I also wish our flight wasn't scheduled at 6:00 a.m. from SFO. So now, not only are we getting up at, what, 3? We also have to worry about whether or not our cab will actually show up to take us to the airport, because the trains aren't running early enough to get us there on time. YIKES!

I will so need to relax after I finish preparing for my vacation! :lmao:

shoes haha

I have like 15 pairs on the bed and am trying to narrow it down. I also had like 5 black, 4 white, a few brown t-shirts oh and like 4 pink ones. I am so bad at packing. Why would I need 4 of each color.

I am trying to figure out what we will all wear on Friday travel day, we need swim stuff for the hotel and then what we will wear on Saturday without having to unpack and re-pack. I am trying to pick it all out for the 5 of us and keep it all on top so all we have to do is open the suitcase.

Too much stress :confused3

I really just want to be in my jean shorts and flip flops for 7 days.
