October 17, 2009 Western

I have not packed a blessed thing. I have not even made a list. So unlike me!!! I am a HUGE list maker and over organized about travel. I promised to make this as stress free as possible.

Maybe Sunday............

Add me to the list of people that have not yet packed :scared1: I usually travel very light and am determined to do the same for this trip also. the older I get, the less excited I get about dressing up, etc. At my age, comfort rules!

Well we leave on Sat for a week in WDW and am I ready - no!! BUT, my dissertation is waiting on my memory stick to be printed off, bound and submitted tomorrow - I am in state of shock and utter exhaustion!
Welcome to all the new cruisers and I hope everyone recovers from illnesses in plenty of time to have a magical time!
Can't wait to see you all.
Wendy

What happened to your cute avatar? Is it me or is the doggy picture missing?

Update on Playa Mia from the agent I with whom I was corresponding.

Carnival Cruise lines has threatened to stop selling Playamia if they allow anyone else to sell it. So Playamia has cancelled all the contracts for travel agents. Carnival is now exclusive so you can purchase your tickets through them at their rates.

Obviously, I won't be booking through Carnival. I guess we'll just play it by ear when we get to the port.

Hmm..This sounds like some of the dolphin swims (I can't remember which ones) in Cozumel, where people could not book it if they were on a cruise ship. As they required you had to book via your hotel or cruise ship at their rates. I had seen that last May when we were planning our trip. This must be something that is happening all over Cozumel.

I bet you can get a taxi there and then just pay an entrance free, but not sure how the cooking class would work.

@Wendy -- NICE to see you on here! Didn't know you're leaving so early already! Enjoy your time at WDW and see you on ship :).

We leave midweek. Very excited!!! :)

hope everyone gets well and I haven't pack yet either, did stick DH snorkeling gear in the car already because would have probably forgotten to and then remembered when we were 200 miles down the road. I am so ready for the this trip (mentally if not physically), really need the vacation and really looking forward to spending time with my DH to celbrate our 25th Anniversary and to spend it with friend that we haven't seen in a year. Please everyone stay well and here to a good packing weekend.

we are leaving as of Thursday evening if not sooner, next week spending Friday in Epoct and dinner at Cat Cora's new resturant.

My family and I do not get excited about dressing up either...we are very relaxed and casual people who are looking forward to relaxing on this trip!!

Any idea how this will effect the DCL excursions that go there? My dad and husband are booked on the Ruins & Beach Tour, which includes Playa Mia. My guess would be that they are cruise-line exclusive, and not Carnival cruise-line exclusive, but I'm not sure.

My DD and DH's flu only lasted 48hrs so they are doing much better now, but my DS woke up with Pink Eye this morning!! Will be better by next week, so maybe it's good we are getting everything out of the way before we leave! No we just need to stay healthy...early to bed...vitamin C...

The good news is that I finished my door magnets and am almost done with my FE gifts! Then I can start packing and try to make it through the work week next week!

8 more days...HOLY COW!!

I wasn't sure if I should start taking all that stuff because as soon as I stop taking them I immediately get sick! I'll need to stock up so I can pop the pills all the way through our cruise!

Kim - Glad to hear that family is doing better and that they are getting their illness out of the way.

Angie - Any news? Kind of waiting to hear how your family is doing, with tomorrow upcoming departure. Figured you must be packing since haven't seen you on FB or here.

Steve - I am with you on the vitamin C. I am helping our April's family inheritance by drinking Emergen-C (Super Orange) it reminds me of the triamatic (sp) fizzy vitamin C tables I use to eat like candy when I was a kid.

Cat Cora has a restaruant? I need to check that out. We are eating in France on Friday night, but might need see about that on Wednesday night.

How wide are the pockets on your FE? I just realized my gift for the kids is 8" wide and doesn't fit into my FE! I'm going to have to get creative about tying it to the rod I think...

This week has just crawled by for me, what about everyone else? I've been busy at work so I thought it would go fast, but it didn't. Now next week will probably fly by and I'll be left scrambling at the last minute!

kerickson,

My FE pockets are just shy of 7.5 inches wide, but they do have a pleat in them that allow them to "fall open"......I made it myself, but measured out doberladys, lost measurements and just did it from pictures. I think others are 8 inches from what i read, however dont quote me!!!!

The week is crawling by for me as well, however, I like it that way. Part of the fun for my family when going on vaca is the weeks/days leading up to departure!!! This time next week we should be in FL!!! whoohooo!!!!!!
