Thanks Larua and Clampets for clearing that up. I guess since I always book what, I just did not get it. See you all soon.

Do you guys know what is the earliest time we can board the ship on the 17th?

Kristi

Kristi - I believe the earliest is 11:30, but technically they say noon. I know that they open the port at 10am for checkin... Then you have a while to wait before boarding.

They do bring out the characters into the port lobby before they start boarding the boat.

The end of this always makes me laugh. When I was 18 I was on a cruise with my parents on princess. I can't remember what ship. My dad remarked to the captian one day that he thought he had a nice boat. The captian replyed, this is no boat sir, this is a ship. It weighs more than 25,000 tons.

Kim,

Wow, we are both from outside of Sacramento and have similar aged kids, how fun. We will be flying to MCO on Southwest. Leaving Sacramento at 11am, flying thru Vegas and then arriving into MCO at 8:30pm. Wouldn't that be funny if we were on the same flights.

I will definitely meet up with everyone at 3pm.

We are taking the 6am flight, arriving 4:10pm. Wanted to get up an out early, but that 4am ride to the airport is going to be tough...the kids will either sleep or be grumpy on the plane. My husband will sleep, so I'll probably be grumpy ;)

Where are you staying in Orlando? We're at the Sheraton Suites, then renting a car down to the port Sat am. Hoping to get to the port around 10:30am.

Not sure if I want to try for an upgrade. We are in a Cat 9 deck two, and I think it's a good room. I didn't book a verandah due to the cost and my fear of the kids on the balcony (and my fear of heights), but if the price is right at the port maybe we'll try for one. A glass of wine on the verandah would be nice if our kids aren't up for staying in the clubs in the evening...

Hey can I ask you guys a first-timer question?

I put a hold on a 2011 cruise (Mexican Riviera). Tomorrow is my due date to put down on a deposit. If I do this am I shooting myself in the foot? Should I wait to book onboard so I can get the 10%? Will they apply that to an existing reservation when I get on the ship?

Thanks!

Has anyone booked any spa treatments yet?

Laura

No, I haven't, but I might see what the specials are once we're onboard. One time I had a massage and a facial. It was so-so. I enjoyed the heated lounger in the spa and the complementary champagne afterward more.

yep. I don't get spa treatements very often, but it is something I can do here at home, and I anticipate they aren't much better, just more expensive. There's lots of other things I'd rather be doing on a Disney Cruise...
My husband wanted me to book a massage because he's in a baseball tourney the week before and will need something to quicken his recovery time...

Maybe. I know if I do a Mexican cruise in 2011 it will be rebooked on the ship. It does not look like I will have a problem booking what I want.

Welcome new folks! Good luck getting caught up on your reading! :thumbsup2

I talked to dh about taking the kids on the Pirate Adventure, and he said he imagined our family would go on the Stingray City excursion that carries both scuba divers and snorkelers. Well, that's news to me! Good thing he finally told me since my mind reading skills aren't what they used to be. So, we're doing Stingray City again. I am happy that he is thinking in terms of family activity, though.

I want to do a cooking class in Cozumel, and when I told him the price he about jumped out of his skin. I told him it's not that much more than his 1/2 day diving excursion to which he replied that diving is worth more than cooking. To which I said, so you think a couple hours of specialized teaching is not worth more than a glorified taxi ride to and from a diving site. He wasn't ready to see my logic. So, I said, "so you think a taxi driver should make more money per hour than a math tutor?" (I know how he thinks) After a little while of silence, he said, "Well, I don't want to take a cooking class but if you do, that's fine."

Nice to see some fun new people!! Looking forward to meeting you in real life!

It's 2 am here and I'm going to go to bed now.. will check in again later this weekend!

xoxo!

Monica - DH is taking that class. :woohoo: He is the cook in our family, so I think it is a good investment. :thumbsup2 DD and I will be enjoying the beach, while he is in the class.

Get a good sleep and will talk to you later.

Now, I'm looking at the one at Playa Mia. Is he doing that one? Originally, I was thinking of the one with Josephina but it not a beach resort class, it's in the teacher's home and is 30.00 more than the beach ones. Her class involves a field trip to the market. The beach resort class, I think, is a good compromise. I was looking at the massage prices, too. Not too bad.

We just checked in to the Residence Inn in Cape Canaveral. I'm very impressed with this hotel (which is saying something since I spend 75+ nights a year in Marriott hotels). It's nice to stay in a newer hotel.

Our kindergartner is on a year-round school calendar and he started his fall break at noon today. We picked him up at school in Raleigh, NC at noon and started driving south - not knowing where we would stay tonight since our reservation at Pop Century doesn't start until tomorrow. We figured we'd just call and add another night onto the Pop Century reservation, but they were completely booked up. So, we decided to come to Cape Canaveral and spend the day at the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday before going to Pop Century. The nice lady at the front desk tried to convince us that we should stay at the Residence Inn for the next two weeks, but I think the commute back and forth to the parks might be a bit much. :thumbsup2

Yes, he is doing the one at Playa Mia. We booked through DCL. For this trip we are doing everything through DCL.

I was actually shocked  at the price of massages on the boat. But then again it is vacation and I am just use to paying bargin prices by booking the day of with internet specials at home.
