Okay - reporting in on my bookings. We got a dolphin swim, which my dh wanted. We are doing the one at Chakanaab in Cozumel.

We couldn't get a brunch at Palo, which is what I really wanted. I will try to book it when we board. I was not planning on a Palo dinner, but in the heat of the moment, I did book one on day 4. At what point do I have to cancel this if I decide against it? Does anyone know? If not, I am sure I can look it up somewhere. I am not sure if day 4 is a good choice or not, but that is what I decided on. I am sure we will be well done with Grand Cayman and cleaned up in plenty of time for our 8:30 reservation -- if we choose to accept it.:)

Hope everything went smoothly for everyone. Off to bed. :wave2:

I was able to add them to our reservation for the Shipwreck and Reef Snorkel in Grand Cayman. We are doing the Dolphin Push Pull Swim in Cozumel and they are going to do the 3 Reef Snorkel.

I also got them a Palo dinner ressie for Monday night. I had no idea what night I should book it for. Dinner at Palo was available for every night but I could not get them a brunch. If our brunch is the day of our character breakfast I will just give them ours.

Weird - If I log in as me instead of my mom I can book them brunch...

Ann - Glad you got your dolphin swim. I am sure you can book your brunch onboard or at least get on a wait list.
On the dinner, I think you have until the day before to cancel, but I am not sure.

Laura

momsully - We are going to dinner at Palo's on Monday too.
Congrats on getting the bookins you wanted for them.

Strange on the brunch, I know when we were booked on the cruise for May, we had tried to get Palo's and there was nothing open. (We were booking within 45 days from the cruise date), but then someone on our meet reported that they saw several dates open when they logged in and even switched their night. I could not do anything. I guess once you have a reservation locked in you can change or make additions.

wow! I can't believe the 75 day mark is now here. Starting to get re-excited!!

Booked for ourself at the 90 day point had to book for our friends last night waited up to midnight est and then it wouldn't let me book until 12:30 for our friends got everything that I wanted still 3 Reef Snorkeling, Shipwreck Snorkeling and Parasailing it should be fun, DH and firends will be snorkeling I don't snorkel and will go and find a beach somewhere to just relax and read on for a couple of hour while they snorkel. Need less to say I got about 4 hours of sleep last night.

We do have ressie for Palo but not sure if we are going to go yet probably will cancel those this week.

Thanks for the information, Laura. It was weird, last night I couldn't get to the forms that you are supposed to fill out, like the Guest Information form, but today I can. The only glitch is, it won't let me save without my flight departure info., but I booked the air through them and they haven't told me that yet. I guess I will have to wait until next month to fill those out.:rolleyes1 I don't know why I am in such a big hurry, it just makes me feel like the cruise is coming sooner, I guess.

Other things to do: we want to buy our own snorkel gear instead of renting it here and there. Not only does the price add up, but sometimes you get inferior gear which can effect your experience.

Plus, I need to think about what clothes I am bringing. And I think I need to buy a swimsuit cover up. I am not sure I really have anything.

If we go to dinner at Palo on night 4, which is casual, does that mean I have to bring a third dress?

Well, stayed up & booked my stuff last night - then did some reading cause I was too excited to sleep when I got in bed!

In Grand Cayman, doing the Grand Cayman Island Tour @8:15, then Pirate Encounter @ 1:45. The Pirate one says it gets back @4:30, but the old navigators say last tender is at 4. Makes me nervous, but I know since it's a Disney-shore excursion, I don't believe they can leave until all their excursions return - at least that's what I think, since they tell you it's safer to book theirs so that you don't miss the ship leaving.

In Cozumel, we got Ocean View Explorer Tour @ 10:45. Wanted to do the Atlantis one, but it was so much more $, we just didn't think there would be such a huge difference that we should spend that much more. Could be wrong on that!

I was shocked my kids wanted to do the Pirate one - I thought for sure it's not something they'd be into, but they were excited about it.

Now, just have to book the hotel for the night before (watching Hotwire for the Hyatt, if not will just book on own soon). Also need to book a car service. I'm gonna start looking at those sites soon. I'm even thinking of totally splurging & getting a limo without telling them - kinda torn on that one! It'd be fun, but I have a hard time justifying the cost, but do keep reminding myself that we're not doing much else for DH's 40th & our 10th anniversary, so may just talk myself into it!!

Can you just wear one of the other 2 & acessorize it w/ a shawl or jewelry or something? I read on a few threads about some even just bringing one dress & changing the look. Esp since you'll be in 2 different places, you won't be eating w/ the same people.

I might wear one of the dresses twice. I guess it mostly depends on my finances. I will have to decide whether this is an excuse to go shopping or if I will just make due. I haven't bought a new frock in awhile, so it is tempting to do so! BUT, on the other hand, I just paid a $2400 dental bill so I am still smarting from that one a bit.

I am sure they will be over a lot to look at the water. I am also hoping that they will be spending a lot of time in the kids clubs too. Boh of them are good kids and we would not mind them spending some time with us while mommy and daddy are "getting ready" - if you know what I mean

Seriously? These folks here thought we were good wholesome folk, and now we're discussing this? Wow, I guess it takes a comment like that to bring me out from behind the woodwork.

Hello all! I have been MIA for most of the summer here. It seems that each time I sign on to the boards, I have like 10 pages to catch up with:lmao: Our summer has been wonderful so far. And tho I have been busy, so busy that I don't know where the time is going, we really haven't done anything remarkable:confused3

Well, we paid off the cruise last week, and guess what? I booked our next one today!!! :yay: It won't be with Mickey, we'll be sailing with Princess on an eastern route. We enjoyed our last cruise with them, and couldn't beat the price for anything. We sail the 7th of February, 2010. Just the two of us, so we can "get ready" whenever we want:rolleyes1. I really have the best in-laws in the world. I don't know many others that could joke around with their kids like that. Also got my hair done last night and realized that my next trip to the stylist will be for the trip, WOO HOO!

On an unrelated personal note...DH has resigned from his job of 2 1/2 years, and accepted a new position. He will be starting on his birthday, 8-17. Will still be a "clinical consultant", but instead of ventricular assist devices, it is a new technology currently awaiting FDA approval. It is an invasive device used to control hypertension in patients in which medication has been unsuccessful. The device, from what he's told me so far, is implanted in the neck (?) in an artery. Like a pacemaker, when it detects the pressure to be too great, it sends a signal somewhere, causing something to happen physically, thus lowering blood pressure. How's that for technical? I'm sure I'll learn more as he goes forward, and if any of you out there are interested in this techie kind of medicine, he would love to talk with you on Magic! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a smooth and successful transition.

I suppose the grass isn't going to cut itself, so I will have to sign off for now. Talk soon!

PS, Laura- I can't thank you enough for taking over the FE project I so awfully neglected. At this point I'm not even sure I'll be able to get one together, but I'm going to try, please add our family of 3 to the list.

Hi all! Congrats to all those who made their 75 day ressies last night and I hope you all got some sleep!! If not, then I hope you got plenty of caffine this morning! :rotfl:

It just seems to be going rather quickly now, doesn't it? Very soon I will be fretting over the packing issue! I actually can't wait!

I had my other drain removed today (finally!!!!) and most of the stitches. The last few come out on Friday morning! Everything is looking pretty good. I'm finally starting to feel human again and can't wait to attempt to sleep on my left side tonight for the first time in about 2 weeks!!

I have several homework projects calling my name, so I better get to them! :teacher:

I will be up too Monica, but it will only be 9pm here, I am sure I will have something critical to work on for work tomorrow.

I fell asleep! I don't remember what time it was, but I was at the computer playing Bounce Ball, listening to War and Peace on the computer and fell asleep!
But any young child would having it. That I will keep for a surprise, since it is something DD7 and I have to make and that takes us back to my point above...

LOL!

I have decided what ever I do, I will be sending a box ahead to the ship and will contain my FE and FE gifts. Does anyone know how many days ahead of our cruise it should be shipped?

Sounds like a great idea, but won't you have the same issue coming back? You won't have all the gifts you've brought to give, but you'll have all the stuff you'll receive on the way back. Although, if some of the stuff is consumable and you consume it on the ship or what you receive is smaller than the things you are bringing, that will reduce the amount you bring back. On the other hand, you are going to the parks before the cruise, right? So, you don't want all that extra stuff to deal with. Is that it?

Darn... why do you have to be so sensible.

Welcome back, Shannon! Nothing remarkable here either but we're still having a good summer. I'd rather prefer unremarkable but well-spent days doing not much. In a few weeks, it will be time to get serious again, but for now, we're enjoying goofing off. LOL. Next week, God-willing, I'll be canning peaches. I don't like the work, but there's nothing like digging into a jar of home canned peaches in the dead of winter.

As for cruise talk, we decided to drive straight through from MD to FL! We'll leave at 4am to avoid the morning rush hour around DC. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Is anyone else getting their luggage ready?

My boys go back to school tomorrow! We just got back from their open house and it is 90 degrees here in Denver. I can't even begin to think about packing since they will be wearing all of their nice shorts and polo shirts at least for the next few weeks and probably thru the end of September.
