Hi guys..!

Thought it would be fun as we get nearer to the cruise (105 days to book coming up and then soon after 90 days..yippeee!) to maybe do a question a day for us all to answer..?

Play along if you like.. just for fun.. could be cruise related or otherwise, I'll volunteer to post a question a day if I can :)..

Hope that's okay?? :)

Today's question is: How did you first hear about the Disney Cruise..?

I heard about the cruise when I went to a Disney Show in Toronto.. with my daughter who was then about 2 years old.. they said it was awesome (overheard some moms talking) and then I was like.. what? There's a cruise???? AWESOME!

I was hooked on finding out about it and then booked (in February) for December that year.. :)

My DW found out about it through a friend. We went on our first Disney Cruise in 05 and we loved it. They treated our youngest son so well. He has very poor eye sight, and the characters would take extra time with him. They would kneel down and let him feel their faces.

Just got our confirmation letter in the mail today with our room assignment and port arrival and departure times. I was surprised that we don't arrive into Key West until 12:30. We would be up for skipping Key West all together and just heading over to Castaway Cay instead! Also, even though a CM swore that we were going to Costa Maya, Cozumel is listed. Arrival at 0930 and departure at 630PM.

Looking forward to getting our excursions book.

How did we find out about DCL?

Dh and I wanted to go on a cruise. We had never been on one. Even though the original plan was to go off as a couple, without the kids, we realized we wanted them to experience it too. I was looking for a cruiseline that had the best children's program. I didn't know Disney had a cruiseline until I started looking for a cruiseline with recommended children's programming.

All my paperwork says Key West at 11:30 and not 12:30....:confused3

Hi guys..!

Today's question is: How did you first hear about the Disney Cruise..?

Great Idea Sue. Let see we have been going to WDW since 1993 as a couple and sometime between then and 1997 we heard Disney was replacing their deal with the Big Red Boat and building their own ship. Never thought I would cruise (I remember the orginal posidean adventure) as I am afraid of deep water. But after several WDW vists, we book a land/sea package in 1999. It was fun, but we didn't have the DIS to help us learn all the things we know now. During that time we had to book all dining and excursions after boarding.

So now in 2009, we were thinking of what we could do for a vacation and DD7 who has been numerous time to WDW and DL that she can't even remember the difference between each visit. We decided on the cruise as she might be able to get off at a port and learn something or experience something different. Somehow we just can not give on on Disney yet.

Thanks for starting this Sue!

does anyone have a new count of our discruisers for our voyage? it time to think about fish extenders too!

I think it's 112 days.... and counting..

There's someone organising Fish Extenders and hopefully we'll get final numbers soon!! :)

So here's today's:

DH: (he's still thinking about it...)
DD: Sleeping Beauty (SHE REALLY wanted to meet her on the ship -- no deal)

Hi Steve - I think I saw you pop up on the Yahoo group, where i have posted a spreadsheet of the DISers that is on the cruise. So far, I have a count of 32 DIS names that have made themselves known on this meet (I have not counted out their travelmates/families yet) and 15 that are on Yahoo as well. So far it seems like there are 4 define yes's on fish extenders (Sue I am still counting you on that), 2 maybes and a couple of definate no's. I am one of the maybe's. I have never organzied this before, so if someone wants to take it over since I don't know what I am doing. I think there should be a Sept cut off date on the fish extenders so you can all plan on the gifts. Someone else mentioned Secret Mickey's.

So here's today's:

Which are your family's favourite Disney Characters??

DH - Eeyore
Me - Tigger
DD7 - Belle (Then Minnie, Donald, Daisey, Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow white, Goofy)

Hey with it only being 112 days until the cruise, when will everyone be making their final payment? My Travel agent is out until July 5, so I plan to make my payment on July 10. Then I can be ready to make the online reservations the next week (at the 90 day mark) (Not lucky enough to be making reservations at 105 days out)

Strange. I have the following:

Key West -> (ashore) 1230 - (onboard) 730
Grand Cayman -> (ashore)0730 - (onboard)445
Cozumel -> (ashore)0930 - (onboard)630
Castaway Cay -> (ashore)0930 - (onboard)500

Pete

Here's what I have:

Key West: ashore 11:30am embark 7:30pm
Grand Cayman: ashore 7:30am embark 4:30pm
Cozumel: ahore 9:30am embark 6:30pm
Castaway Cay: ashore 9:30am embark 5pm

There are just a couple of differences, and of course they don't really matter now. What matters is what's in our Navigator's whn we get there! :scared1: But it is funny and interesting that there are discrepancies at all... Makes you kind of wonder sometimes... :rotfl:

That is weird, but like you said it doesn't really matter. As long as each navigator is the same!

I posted an update spreadsheet and web verision of the spreadsheet on yahoogroups. :surfweb:
Please look to see if I have the information correct. Right now we have total of 120 people (if I am not double counting) and 32 DISers included in that count. Only 4 DISers have said Yes :thumbsup2 to FE and 2 are still deciding on FE :confused3

Does anyone have the inside scoop on the latest rotations..? I was told your fourth night is a repeat of the third night.. is that true? :)...

I just read that these are the current rotations:

Hmmm... everyone is in bed, but I can tell you a few of ours:

Me - Minnie
Cassidy (11) - Tinkerbell
Olivia (3... will be 4 at cruise time) - Ariel

John - I (along with the kids) assigned him a character several years ago: Grumpy. He now has a large collection of Disney t-shirts featuring Grumpy! :laughing:

Not sure what the boys would say!
