Hello, everyone! I have been reading your posts and thought I should pop up and say "hey!". I joined the Yahoo group. I am getting very excited about the trip.

Is there another yahoo group besides the ones for the kidS?? who do I pm?

Anyone on the Romantic Package? We ordered it the last time and will do it again this time round...

Have you thought about any excursions for the ports...?

okay... also wanted to ask.. who was organising the FISH EXTENDERS for our group..? I think we'd like to sign up but want to know how many in the list..? not generally slow sorry guys.. appreciate your help!!

I`ll be there. Along with my DM, DD, DGP (mom, dad & grand parents). We are renting a house in Kissimmee for a week before the cruise. We are also going to Mickey`s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom in WDW on Tuesday, October 13th. Can`t wait! What room are you all in...

:welcome: Look forward to meeting you! Sounds like you are a baseball fan. So are we, just don't have anyone to cheer about this year as the Diamondbacks are not doing well.

Hi Sue,

Here is the yahoo group that yazee1 created..

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/discovering_magic_with_mickey/

Also there are several of us on facebook as well.

As for FE, I haven't committed to it yet, but I am keeping a spreadsheet on the yahoo group of all the DISers that are going us on the cruise. Right now there are 4 families that have given a solid yes (including you ;) ) on FE and a couple of us with ?. Since I have never done a Cruise before with DISers or even FE, I wouldn't know what needs to be done.
Here is a recent thread on questions about FE for those who are unsure about it...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2206287

Thought about the Romantic package, just to get the extra 15 days to book Palos and excursions, but then we don't need the robes or breakfast in the room.. though the rainforest room daily does sound nice.

As for excursions.. here is what we plan to do

Key West, Take the trolly (or walk) to the southern most point and then go back toward and hitting landmarks and key lime pie locations along the way. Such as the butterfly concervancy.

GC- Boatswain (read some good reports on this as a family place that our DD might like.

COZ - Haven't decided yet. Not sure what we want to do, Maybe a beach day.

CC - Stingray feeding.

Thanks for your response Laura!! :) Good on the Fish Extenders.. I think it's just a matter of finding out room numbers and how many to prep for. Are we making just 'by family' or for the kids? Probably good to put a cap on (like not more than 30 ppl or somethign everyone's comfy with)..

Going to be a fun cruise.

Thinking of doing dolphins just can't decide GC or Cozumel.. hmm..

Thanks for the info on the yahoo grp for grownups. will sign up asap :).

xoxo
Sue.

Hi Jacy!! Used to live minutes from the Rogers Centre where the Blue Jays play in Toronto :).. love that city :)

Sue - I would like to do the dolphins for DD7, think she would get a kick out of it. I did it years ago with my MIL in cancun. It was in deep water and I am not the best of swimmer in salt water and then I am pretty sightless without correction and could not wear them, so I had a hard time. It was mostly by feel and sound. I know is Coz, they have a place just for kids.

Are you thinking of booking through DCL? because on the main board, I saw there is a Discount code to book directly in Coz.

Jacy - I just noticed your signature, you must be related to Golden Tickerbell

Good morning, everyone! (At least, it is still morning out here in the West.) We are getting close to the 105 day booking window for excursions/Palo. Anyone lucky enough to get one of those? I don't get to book until 75 days out, so I have a ways to go. Please leave me a thing or two!:lmao: I think I would like one Palo meal at least, but I am not sure when. I am not getting too worried about timing, because I don't know what choices will be left to me. I will probably try to book for day 4 or later.

For those of you with kids, what dining time do you have?

What are your experiences? I know most people with kids want early seating, but I think I've talked myself into switching ;)

When we first cruised, Lara was 3 and we were a little worried about the 8.15 or so seating! But it really worked out and let us take our days slower. She was PRETTY tired in the evenings and we just let her lie on us when she needed it. On the other hand, no rushing our days, time in the pool, and no rushing back from ports either. When we were hungry, we could also get a light snack from the poolside snack bars to take us through to dinner..

We also got a good place for pirate night and fireworks.. so no worries there either :).

Being able to make reservations 105 days out is not a matter of luck, it's a matter of shelling out the big bucks for a category 3 or better. ;) Just for kicks I inquired about what it would cost for us to book a category three and I almost choked. So, in answer to your question, count us out. We'll have to wait until 90 days out.

You feel certain you will get your Palo meal. Even if the pickings are slim to none online, go straight to Rockin Bar D (if it's still where they do the reservations on embarkment day) once you board the ship. DCL doesn't open all the time slots online. We've gone the Rockin Bar D route, and we have also gone the "wait list" route.

This is a little off topic but here's a story from our second cruise. On our second cruise we didn't like the brunch day I was able to get online. I didn't do anything about it until the 2nd day of the cruise, so of course, there were no time slots left. I had to give up our reservation in order to go on the waitlist. Palo called about an hour before brunch (the day we asked for) to tell us they had room for us. By then we already had reservations because, as luck would have it, I ran into my Disboard friend (the same angel who gave me the granola bar when I was about to pass out at the port -a story from an earlier part of this thread-at the internet cafe the day before. When I told her we were waitlisted for brunch, she invited us to brunch with her and her family. Two of her party didn't want to go. We had a jolly time.

It's because of memories like that one we chose to link reservations with Disfriends on our third cruise, too. I always think of brunch as being for fun times and dinner for serious dining.

Hello again. Yeah, since Cito Gaston has come back, the Jays seem to be doing pretty good. I think they are only a half game behind the Yankees for 2nd place. Hopefully, they will bounce back toward the top soon. We are so looking forward to the cruise. See you there.

My plans exactly, except for CC. My DS isn't old enough, but I'm thinking maybe my husband and I will do something while the kids are in the kids club.
This is our first cruise, so I just want to enjoy cruising and the ports.

Welcome Jacy! It sound like fun, a week in Kissimmee before the cruise.

Hi all! :) Just found out we got moved to Main Seating for dinner.. now to figure out what nights for Palo..

Does anyone have the inside scoop on the latest rotations..? I was told your fourth night is a repeat of the third night.. is that true? :)...

Ok, I'm reaching far, far back into my school shriveled brain.... this is what I remember from last year...

According to my Key to the World Card, this was my rotation: LAAPLAP

So, I ate in Animator's Palate on Sunday and Monday night. Sunday night was our first rotation there, so we had the color change, the second night was the celebration of The Golden Mickey's, and it was formal night. We had a special menu for the evening.

Wow. I can't believe that I can remember!

I guess it really just depends on where in the rotation they want to put the special evenings.... But The Golden Mickey's are pretty early on usually, and Pirate Night is later on in the week... It's only a repeat as far as where you are eating, I think our third trip to AP was Captain's Gala menu, but that really is pushing the limits of my brain... haha

For us, luck would be involved because we would have to win the lotto first! Actually, I upgraded us from a Cat 10 (I think) to a Cat 6 without telling my husband. Initially, we agreed we didn't need a veranda, but then, I decided I wanted one. It was going to be a surprise for him, but his memory is so bad, he won't remember we didn't always have one. :) He leaves vacation details to me, for the most part. When I try to solicit an opinion, I usually get, "I dunno" or "I don't care". It works out okay, because it leaves me to pick what I want. Actually, the fact he showed an interest in a dolphin encounter really surprised me, because he usually isn't forthcoming with things he would like to do. Therefore, even though I am not super-psyched about dolphins myself, I am going to try to hook us up with some in Cozumel.

Anyway, yazee: Thanks for the reassurance. I will definitely be planning on booking things on board that I can't get to online.

Thanks Penny.. :)! Yea the rotations have changed since I last cruised.. then it was just APLAPLA.. easy!!

I spoke to someone in reservations who said that our fourth night would be the repetition of the third this time..

I've sailed many times and for the 7-night cruises it was always APLAPLA, or some other similar variation. When did they start doing back-to-back dining at the same place? I'll never be able to remember where I'm going without my keycard now! I wonder what purpose this serves......
