October 16th actual 100th Anniversary - anything special planned?

There is a D23 Royal Anniversary Ball at the Walt Disney Studios tonight.

Yeah, D23 tours and special events and Adventure by Disney tours are the only way for the public to visit there, right?

Here at DL as well… I have asked to many cast members / guest services… common answer has been that celebration will be for them, and they aren’t aware of anything special for guests at the parks (sighs…)

Yes, but D23 has a free membership and most events are open to all members. The Anniversary Ball tonight was just for Gold members, but the studio tours are open to everyone. They open 2-3 months of tours at a time, wait, and then open a few more months. The cost for the studio tour is:
General Member: $149 for weekday tours and $159 for weekend tours per person, plus a $7 per person processing fee. Gold Member: $99 for weekday tours or $109 for weekend tours per person, plus a $7 per person processing fee.

Wow the DLP opening Ceremony for today was great - 100 characters to celebrate the 100th ...

I'm getting ready to rope drop Disneyland California - I can only hope they do something this awesome, but it seems like they aren't going to do anything, I would think by now they would have announced something? I've heard the same thing that they are only doing something for CMs which is great - but wish they would do something for fans too.

It was great if you had a good spot for the show. If you were on the 3rd row or further back you would be blocked by phones and cameras.

By what I see on social media, this was it for DLP.
- There was the show, minus the speeches and the voluntears, about 15 minutes
- The 100 characters parade (from the hub back to the beginning of Main Street), about 5 minutes.
- There is a 'selfie' spot with the Fab duo's in their costumes, but you take your selfie at the same time as hundreds of others. And also here, if you are in row 3 or further back, you are blocked by phones.

Crowds are extreme. Better to watch it on social media than actually being there. Better view points.

Below was the view point from ED92, the (one of) biggest DLP fansite, for their live stream. It was really about being lucky if they were unable to get a good spot. **Edit** apparently you cannot link live streams.

If you go to the facebook page of ED92, to 9:30 this morning Paris time (12:30am West Coast time, I think?) you can still watch it.

That is very sad. That's Walt's park... What a missed opportunity!

Considering the crowds that happen just naturally for being October, I am not surprised they didn't want to add to that.

I dont think so but havent been in the shops to look yet. No special snacks afaik beyond the normal D100 snacks they’ve had since January.

Nope! We got a button that says Honorary Citizen of Disneyland, and they wrote 100 years in marker. Does that count?

Yeah, not sure on this specific hoodie. They have Disney 100 merch, same as they have had the last few months, nothing special for today itself like for example at Animal Kingdom’s 25th anniversary had dated shirts.

We didn’t see any of those in the major stores like WOD when we were there in late September, and we were looking.

They could have easily done a PhotoPass 100 anniversary photo op or photo frame. How hard would it have been to dress the characters in their Disney 100 attire for the cavalcade? They apparently shipped those costumes off to Epcot and Disneyland Paris!

What a shame! It seems like the logical place to really celebrate would be in CA. To not even really acknowledge it is rather insulting IMO.
