October 15, 2005 anyone?

Michelle....soooooo sorry to hear of you loss. Our best to you and your daughter.

Also does anyone know if soft sided coolers are allowed? I hear mixed messages about this. some say yes, cruise doc's say no. I have a disney cooler bag (soft) that almost looks like it could be a carry on, and was planning on using it as such.

a big welcome to DiMitch. The debate on 'what was the largest cooler you can take on board (or - how much alchol did you get through the x-ray scanner when boarding)' has been around for quite some time. Disney (to my knowledge) is one of the only cruise lines that lets you take 'adult beverages' on with you. on our past 3 DCL cruises...we've never had a problem taking 2-3 bottles of wine and a bottle of 'hard liquor' with mixers. Also, I don't put this in my carry on - I put bottles in a zip loc, wrap them and place them in my check in luggage. Have not had a problem. We did take a cruise on Carnival...when we were reboarding at Encinitas...all liquor purchased was taken - before you got on ship...and delivered to your stateroom the last night. I am really surprised that Disney *still* allows this - shhhh don't tell em I said so.

I'm still figuring out the Schlong guy conversation!

Paul...you kill me...i needed this laugh...just finished a double shift and needed a chuckle.

I have a quick question.
I gorgot, but where do I go to get the green paint chips? Was it home depot?

Yup...home depot has 2x3" color chips in the shape of Mickey heads - pretty cool!!! the name of the color is 'Sonic Boom'...to me...it's lime green.

Man all you guys are so great to make me feel so welcome to these boards. :flower: I feel like I definately have to find the time now to go back and read all 84 pages to get to know everyone and their stories. Yes I will do my best to get to the meeting that one of you mentioned in the promanade lounge although I have a feeling that It was sunday I reserved the palo's brunch. Looking back at the first few posts and all you early planners....I've had this one in the works for 2 years. We booked on board in Oct 2003, which was our first ever cruise, which was also planned 2 years in advance. We discovered 3 days was just way too short. So yes I too am a planner. I had our first trip planned to the smallest detail. This trip, through one of these boards I actually found someone doing a cruise next week who lives very close to me here in Colorado. They are bringing me back all the navigators so I can PLAN PLAN PLAN!!!!

HEY SAMR Very cute picture of the family....It cracked me up though. I have your clothes!!!! I have the exact same shirt your wife was wearing as well as a long sundress in the same print as all your shirts. I wasn't planning on bringing them....but now I might just have to. :cheer2:

Hey Me again... I forgot to ask....Are any of you guys going on the morning catamaran shore excursion in St. Martin. :boat: I wanted to do the afternoon one but hubby thought the waters might be calmer in the am. We're also doing the golf excursion at Mahogany run in St. Thomas. Although you may want to watch out for the balls if your golfing with me....because I stink at it! FORE!!!! :duck: Hey these little guys are kind of fun!

2) Is a denim skirt acceptable for dinner? I know DCL says jeans are okay, but many people still think that is too casual and I would prefer to be as conservative as I can. Is a denim skirt (knee length) considered as casual as jeans? It would be worn with a nice tunic top.

I would wear a denim skirt even before Disneysaid Jeans were okay, so I'd say you'd be fine there!

I noticed that it still says "No Jeans" in my documents!

I was under the impression that formal, palo's and sometimes even the semi-formal nights were very dressy.

I am wearing a floor length formal dress and my husband will be in his Tux, if that helps you! You won't be out of place at all!

Ohhh! I didn't notice that you were from CO. Where? My husband calls Colorado Springs home, and can't wait to move back! :)

Ha! Yes, there was at least one other family on our cruise that was decked out in the same pattern, but fortunately not on the same day and in the same dining room as us! :rotfl: We ordered those outfits from the Disney Catalog in the Spring of 2004...I'm sure there are a bunch of them out there. And my kids don't grow very fast, so we think that all those clothes still fit. So, we may wear them again! :earsboy: But by all means bring yours...The more the merrier! :teeth:

Five weeks from right now we will be on the Magic!

And just for Paul: "It's a world of laughter, a world of tears..." Come on...Everybody sing! :earsboy:

Hey, I hope it is not too hokey...We did the matching outfits thing on our Wonder cruise in 2004. Only we wore the matching outfits to dinner (tropical night in Parrot Cay), not at embarkation:
WOW Sam...good look'n family - I see why you are sooo proud of them. Nan has been looking for matching outfits...only - our girls are growing like weeds. We just bought shoes for all of them...and then...my oldest announced hers were getting too tight. Oh well - guess we will need another trip to the shoe store.

Long time lurker firs time poster.

We'll be with y'all when the horn blows leaving PC on 10/15. I stumbled across the boards shortly after we made our reservations and I have learned so much. Thanks. This will be our 2nd Cruis with DCL, did a 4 day land, 3 day sea in 2001. I feel like I know so many of you based on your posts, can't wait to put a face to the screenname. We're checking for the docs.

Welcome DB!

sam....we have the same outfits....maybe we should all wear them to the Promenade so people think we are one big family :)

i have a formal dress floor length for formal night, a pretty long dress for semiformal night and reg clothes for the rest....i like getting to dress up! :flower:

I'm doing the doc dance!
I've been out of town since Friday morning and just got in Sunday at 5pm and there they are!
Glad you lurkers are joining in on the fun! :)

Congrats to everyone who has received their docs already - it sure does drive home the fact that we're not far from our sail date with Mickey!!! :goodvibes

Ohhh! I didn't notice that you were from CO. Where? My husband calls Colorado Springs home, and can't wait to move back!

To answer your question about where in Colorado...South Denver. Highlands Ranch to be specific... only about 45 minutes from the springs. We go down there quite frequently. Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite places in Colorado. :Pinkbounc

Still not Doc's yet... :confused3 My Aunt is on the Mariner of the Seas on the 16th and she got hers!! :confused3 Hopefully soon.....I can't wait! :cool1:

DD did excellent at the Horseshow on Saturday. She was very excited. We have just been so busy lately...I will be glad when the trip gets here and we can relax and enjoy the sunshine! :sunny:

We are almost 30 days out!! :rotfl:

I still need trip insurance!!!! :guilty:

Just got back from our little getaway and checked my email. No messge from TA at AAA. I was thinking of parking outside of AAA and stalking the ups man today since I have the day off!! :rotfl2: Maybe sit in the car (of course the engine and air must be running as we are already at 93 degrees) and bring along a few newspapers. We could cut holes out of the paper and peek through!! Then when he arrives, we'd ponce on him like a couple of cats! :rotfl2:

Welcome to DBFans!! Does that mean Denver Bronco fans?? Glad you are no longer lurkers and have joined the ranks of the insane among us!

You'll find some really entertaining folks here. There's always someone that cracks me up daily! :Pinkbounc

30 more days until vacation begins!! :Pinkbounc

Just wondering....

Does anyone bring their camcorders along on the cruise? We are still tossing the idea around. We usually only use it at Christmas each year. We used to use it much more when the kids were younger.

I'm trying to eliminate some of the bulkier items in our carryons. I'm afraid we won't use it enough.

Do you think we'll use it enough? Just trying to get some opinions from you.

Thanks all,
Nancy :earsboy:

I am not planning on taking our camcorder. Our Kodak 4530 has a great little movie feature and I got a 256M stick of memory, so that'll do us... Welcome new people!!

Later,
Paul

  I like to Move it move it move it!
  Hey! He likes to move it!

Danny will probably bring ours... I love watching video of the sea going by in the middle of winter, helps with the winter blues.

..............................
YES!
This is a small thing, but one that will make this cruise just that much better...
two days into our cruise will be a full moon... meaning those evenings up on deck 10 will have lovely veiws of the moonlight on the water...how romantic!
Just like this photo we took on the Wonder in 2002

I too had checked too see if we will have a full moon when we sail! :teeth:
I can't wait! Our past 3 cruises we did not.

I think I will bring our Cam Corder along. Mom and Dad just got one of those new mini DVD recorders, but I don't think they would let me take it.

I have a feeling my suitcase will be very full....I picked up things like toothepast, handcleaner, hair clips ect....It is so close!

Got an e-mail from TA Coleen today and still no Doc's....She said she will e-mail as soon as she gets them... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I want them!
