October 15, 2005 anyone?

is anyone jealous that the may repo cruise meets is till at the top of this board and have you seen how many posts they have??? :sunny:

I watched a very interesting program last night on The Learning Channel - "Drydock: A Cruise Ship Reborn." Very cool to see the amount of work done - from basic maintenance to stateroom redecoration - while the Carribean Cruise Lines 'Sovereign of the Seas' was in drydock.

TLC will have rebroadcasts on June 12, 13 and 19th ...

The only thing I'm a little confused about with the Magic's upcoming drydock was the comment about the spa being relocated to the front of the ship. While I don't think that's a bad idea, I am kinda bummed that it won't be located near the adult pool and cove cafe. DH and I really liked that whole area - for us a day at sea was the pool, the spa, the pool, the spa, cove cafe, the spa... you get the idea. :goodvibes

I'm going to miss the convenience of having my three favorite places on the ship adjacent to each other. Or did I read the planned changes incorrectly?

I didn't think that they were relocating the spa...Just expanding it by taking over the bridge overlook area. But then, I don't think DCL has really provided much in the way of specifics. :confused3

Brenda, hope you are enjoying your new patio furniture. :flower: That is definately on my want list.

Wayneg, your Orlando trip sounds wonderful. I really want to do Discovery Cove...someday!!! Which is first, the cruise or Florida?

All the dry dock talk has me confused. I quess I'll truly understand it when I see it!!! The TLC show sounds interesting. I would like to watch it.

St. Maarten is giving me way to much grief! The Golden Eagle catamaran sounds fun, but so does a day at the beach. Such difficult decisions. :rotfl:

Sara

Sam,
if your information is correct about the spa then you are my new hero!!! :teeth: I knew there was a reason you were appointed Captain of the Molar Express (now with more fluoride!). I probably misunderstood the other posts I was reading anyway.

Sara, we love our new patio furniture but the weather has been icky humid / stormy since Monday so we really haven't used it much since assembling it. But thanks for asking! We ordered it from Plow & Hearth...some very nice all-weather wood furniture that can withstand a beating from the Midwest weather extremes.

Looking forward to the weekend... DH and I have tickets to tomorrow night's Cardinals / Yankees game. Should be a blast (especially if we win!!).

OK Paul... you got me! I was trying to keep my adult area comments clean for a change, but since you mentioned it... yes!!! The Surial Room...AKA The Naughty Mud Room for Two!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

As long as the Magic keeps that treatment room they can do anything they want with the spa and I'll never breathe a word of complaint. :goodvibes

As for the game, surely you can root for the birds, just this once? I was going to pull for your Cubbies to stomp the Red Sox this weekend. ;)

Sara

Sara,
We would have prefered the cruise either at start or end of vacation but this year it falls right in the middle so we have a week before and a week after in Orlando. Last year we did the western itinery and wanted to do the dolphin swim in Grand Cayman but with the hurricaines we couldn't dock so itinery was changed to Costa Maya. This will be our 12th vacation to Orlando totalling 29 weeks and still find 3 weeks is not long enough.
Wayne

Wayneg...we also had a vacation this year already in Orlando. Well, we actually stayed in a condo in Daytona Beach this time, but we were in Orlando every day for one thing or another. We were there for seven days in May and I'm ready to go back. Our cruise is only extended by one day before and one day after. Not enough for me!! I'm betting that we will love the cruise so much that we will end up booking again for next year.

I like your plans of one week on either side of the cruise. Always something to look forward to that way.

Enjoy Orlando and see you in Oct.

Brenda,

Wish I was going to the Cardinal game this weekend. My friend works for the Cardinals, but could not get tickets because the games are all SOLD OUT! Oh well....

Since the Ginger and Lime Salt glow is not listed on the spa list to pre book I will just book a reg massage and then switch when on board. Atleast I will have a time held. I can't wait too see the changes to the ship.

I just can't believe the Hurricanes are starting already. Last year the first one was in August! :confused3 Maybe this is a good thing and all the storms will hit early and be way gone by October!!!! :sunny: :sunny:

I tried on the most beautiful dress at Dillards Wednesday for Formal night! If it goes a bit cheaper I am buying it. Then I have to figure out how to pack it!

Everyone have a nice weekend....... :cool1:

I'm thinking about that hot stone massage they have listed on the spa wish list... I'm just not sure that I want to fork over $175 for it. I love to splurge, but that may be too much, even for me!! :teeth:

Can't wait for the game tonight - I sure hope we win!!

I think the lime and Salt glow w/massage is $145. I will have Birthday money and I am planning on using my reward dollars from my Visa on the Ship.
:goodvibes I should have enough to pay for my Spa visit and the excursion to St.John. :goodvibes

Have fun at the game!! LUCKY! Of course they will win!! Think positive.

I am going to try and update my picture this weekend. I have the cutest picture of Josie on the beach at the Poly from our trip a couple weeks ago.

Bye... :wave2:

i was surpried the surial couples spa thing was not listed...i thought this was very popular? I wanted to try it this time....maybe i will call dcl once i can make online ressies and try to get this one....

i just got my 3rd edition passporter and i am so excited!!!

I was surprised too that the Surial was not listed on the on-line booking, but as long as they still offer it I'll be happy. We did it last year and are looking forward to it this year as well. We booked it the day we boarded the ship and we didn't have any problems getting the date / time we wanted so I'm not too worried.

Guess what!! We got an upgrade!! I just happened to be on the web-site earlier and our room number has changed from 6566 to 8578!! Actually it's not much of a difference since we already had a verandah, but some extra space will be nice!! How's that for weird?

Congrats Brenda!!!

Makes me want to go check & see if our room number has changed too. :)

Have fun at the game tonight!

i am jealous...i would love to be upgraded to a verandah!!! but since our two rooms cat 8 and cat 11 are linked i bet there is no hope of an upgrade... :sad2:

On our 1st cruise we were upgraded to a verandah, I think we used it twice. No time to use it, although we won't refuse if they offer us one

i was shocked - we were already booked into a category 6 with a verandah, which is what we had last year when we sailed. We got bumped to a category 4, which is why I said earlier that there really isn't a big difference between what we had and what we now have... a bit more space and a different deck, but I'll take it. We really enjoyed the verandah last year...loved having our own little spot overlooking the ocean and really liked the sense of extra space it gives the cabin.

On a totally different note... had a great time at the Cardinals / Yankees game last night. No rain delays (it dumped at our house but we also live 45 miles west of Busch Stadium), tasty hotdogs and beer, and a great game with the good guys in red winning handily!! Woo Hoo!!! :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a good weekend...may the cabin upgrade vibe be with you all!!

Brenda

:cool1: Congrats Brenda!! That's great that you received the upgrade. We booked back in September however, since I'm linked with some other cabins, I'm not sure if we will receive the benefit of the upgrade. We're midship on deck 7. :cloud9:

I just received a phone call from my girlfriend and she and her husband with the kids are staying at the Grand Floridian. They will be taking the 4 day Disney Cruise starting tomorrow the 12th. They have three wonderful kids and they are totally excited about going. :earsgirl: :cheer2: ::MickeyMo

Anyhow, we are waiting to hear from Disney/Costco if we will get any group space or any type of upgrades. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! :sunny:
