October 15, 2005 anyone?

HI Molar Express!! Boy, I had to catch up - welcome to the newbies and my prayers and thoughts for Paige and any families/friends effected by both Katrina and Rita.

We finally received our docs :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth: I decided to do a garage sale yesterday, and the mailperson :flower: handed our priority mail package from Costco Travel. Apparently Costco sends them out after they "quality control" them??? We booked 10 cabins with them and only one family received them before us about a week ago. We have a group of 42 cruising - 24 adults and 18 kids (ages 4 - 15)!!!

Here's our bio---
My name is Evelyn (43) and my DH is Finster (42) - I call him by his middle name - Lloyd - since our son (13) is named Finster also - nicknamed Fin III or Finman. We also have a lovely teenage daughter Victoria (15). My husband and I met in college and after 5 years of dating and one year of engagement got married in May of 1987. We've been married 18 years..time flies :love2:

Lloyd completed his medical degree while I finished my MBA/Finance. Lloyd was commissioned by the US Navy and served for 12 years. We've seen the world compliments of the military - we were stationed in Japan and Italy,Southern California and finally here in Colorado. Currently I am a Domestic Engineer/Soccer Mom and my DH is a physician with Kaiser Permanente. I was working in the financial arena/retirement plans with an Insurance Company and may decide to rejoin the work force at a later date.

Victoria is on the JV Varsity team and loves her computer and also works at school assisting the librarian. She will be attending her first Homecoming tonight!! I can't believe how quickly she has grown. :lovestruc Both kids are into karate and video games. Fin III is on the middle school soccer team, plays the bassoon, and will be in the school's play - Fiddler on the Roof.

Today, we are planning to go up to Rocky Mountain Park/Estes Park to see the elk - bugle... Last week we did a quick trip up to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse Memorial. I can't believe that our cruise is just around the corner. I will start packing after this weekend. We will be celebrating a mini family reunion, unfortunantely two of my brothers and their families are unable to attend.

I should be able to locate our Mardi Gras beads and will look for others when we register at the Port. Due to the size of our group, I think I'll have to pass on the tag. Our family signed up for the St. John Trunk Bay & Snorkel tour, and parasailing. The kids will also do the Dolphin Encounter (Vic), 12 Meter Regatta (Fin III), and are signed up for the Wild Side.

I am looking forward to the cruise, it'll be our second Disney Cruise, our first was back in October 2000 on the same Eastern itinerary. Hope everyone will be safe and have a wonderful weekend :dog: :goodvibes :rotfl: :teeth: :wizard: :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Evie

FinVicMom,
I saw your post on the thread regarding Costco and documents...we booked through Costco as well and received docs yesterday. :cool1:  Glad to see you got yours as well.

Let's all hope that this is the last of the hurricanes for the year and pray that those affected, family and friends are safe.

On to the bio...
My name is Eric (36) and my DW Tammi is (37). We met in Arizona and were married some 12+ years ago. After a few years, we decided enough of the heat, lets go to Colorado where I grew up. Our two boys, 8 and 3, were born in there. They are both into soccer, baseball, swimming and just being kids. In 2001 we took our oldest on a land/sea trip with DCL and then took both kids back to WDW in 2003. Shortly thereafter, we decided to move to Alabama. Now, less than two years later we find ourselves back in Arizona where it all started.

I have been a fan of the Broncos since the days of the Orange Crush and were getting on board with the Diamondbacks, hence the DB.

Both my wife and I have worked in the environmental field, so I like to say that hazardous waste feeds my family. My DW has moved onto contracts and pricing management for the aerospace industry and am am still trying to clean up the environment and protect the people doing it.

We recently went to Disland to primed for the trip and can't wait to meet y'all and put together the screennames, real names and faces. :) :bounce: :)

Eric

Welcome Brian Disney and Weiny.....Hope we all get to meet!!

The kids had off of school yesterday, so we went to "Dollywood"!!!! Definitely put us in the Disney spirt.....(closest thing we can get to disney!!) Dolly was even there yesterday, but we did not get to see her :guilty:

We just got our Passports :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I was starting to get a little worried since we had to give them our original birth certificates!! But then I thought with some of you not receiving docs yet....... I must be patient...it was hard!!!..... Now how are y'all staying patient about the docs....

Now I have our docs, our passports, & our beads.....now all I have to do is pack!!! :rotfl: I am so envious of all you prepackers.....my husband swears I will be packing an hour before we leave!! .....he's probably right :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nancy, How's your puppy??? Hope everything is o.k.

Take Care!!

Hey Mr Cruise Director - Welcome to our site -

Please give a warm welcome to my fellow Palmer Mass Friend !!!

And did someone say DANCE!!!!!!!!

Guess what we Got !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suzie...Cabo is doing much better. Actually, he is back to himself. Full of pee and vinegar. I don't want him to be sick anymore, but I sure did like how cuddly he was when he had a fever. Looks like he was stung by a bee or bitten by one of Brenda's spiders. Thanks for asking! :paw:

Michelle...looks like we are the only two people still waiting for docs. I'm not nervous yet, just anxious. If I don't have the docs by next weekend, I'm going to have to insist that I be upgraded to the Walt Disney suite.!! How do you think that will go over? :rotfl:

Doesn't Disney know better than to make a 1st Timer wait like this? I wonder what happens if they never arrive?

Does anyone know when we set the clocks back this year? Is it during our cruise or the weekend we disembark? I guess this is pretty important since we are flying home on Sunday and we don't want to miss our flight...or do we???? :teeth:

Just in case I forgot to welcome all the newbies to our thread...WELCOME to all!!!

See you soon,
Nancy :wave2:

Daylight Saving ends Sunday Oct. 30th, so we (I...) will adjust them before going to bed Saturday night, the 29th.

Hey guys! We're still in Dallas. We are supposed to return to our designated area tomorrow, so we are being good citizens and following the rules. According to our subdivision message board, our neighborhood did not lose power and has no major water or wind damage. Yeah! I feel awful for friends and co-workers I have in the Beaumont area, though.

On other topics, the spider stories remind me of a panicked phone call I received from a friend who was spending a summer in Australia. She walked into her living room one morning and saw a spider on the wall the size of a saucer. For some reason, she thought I might have a good idea how to kill it. How do you even start to kill something like that??? She ultimately called her apartment maintenance guy who came to take care of it and he told her it was just a baby and that the mama, wherever it was, would be about the size of a regular plate!!! Can you imagine?!? I think I would lose control of several bodily functions if I ever saw something like that! Needless to say, she was in a bit of a panic about running into the mama spider the rest of the summer.

EDITED TO ADD: One more thing, guys. I have to give a nice little endorsement to the kind folks at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, Texas. They have truly gone above and beyond the call of duty for evacuees, including scheduling movie double features every night (tonight is Finding Nemo and X Men 2), giving us free coupons to a bowling alley across the freeway, providing dog treats for all of the dogs staying here (I'm still wondering where the cat treats are for my kitties...). I think Renaissance Hotels have earned my allegiance forever for the excellent planning and hospitality they have shown in the face of a full hotel of stressed-out guests.

Hey Paige – you’ve been in our thoughts and in our prayers…so glad to hear of your safety and appears limited to no damage at home. Looking forward in hearing you’ve returned back home – safe and all is well.

It’s great to hear how Renaissance Hotel has treated you. In a day that ‘hard times’ bring out the best and worst in people and business…you have something positive to report. Hopefully all on these boards with travel will keep this location in mind – we need to recognize and reward establishments like this.

Hey Eric – great to hear of another from AZ on these boards and our cruise. Glad to hear I’ll have a fellow Diamondbacks fan on board. Watch out – there will be Cubbie and Cardinal fans – from the words of Elmer Fudd…”Heeeey, there's something awfly scwewy going on awound here.”

Our WDW/DCL time is getting sooooooo close...I am sooooo ready to enjoy this vacation. Is anyone else getting out photo/videos of past trips - and getting even more excited!!!

Wishing all a great week - as the countdown will soon be approaching single digits. K

I have read everyone commenting about "Shirley" and Gift Baskets .

Does anyone have the Web site ?

Couldnt sleep last night so I spent some time reading past post as I am still considered a "newbie"
I am honered that I will be meeting such a caring group with good senses of Humor . and need I say Dental issues .
Its gotten quite chilly here in New England barely reaching 65 today, cant wait for those tropical breezes.

So at the end of this week we will have a final count of "Tag" players ?

Wear Madi Gras beads so we can recognize each other in the Terminal and is it still set for 1pm on Sunday as I did see that there might be a glitch .

Everyone have a wonderful evening !!!!

1-800-950-4559 is the phone number

SamR and one other in our group had some wonderful things to say about Shirley and their experiences. I've held a wonderful conversation with Shirley and look forward in seeing my DW wifes face when she sees her basket.

Yes - from earlier posts...we've agreed to close the registration on Friday, September 30th.

Still no e-mail from Coleen yet....I am going to e-mail her today and ask if she has heard anything about DOC'S!! :confused3

Rained all day yesterday!! :umbrella: So I ironed and packed all day..Got DD and my bags packed. We are cooling off a bit this week so I won't need any of my real summery things.... :sunny: So I am just about set! I just have a small list of things still too pick up. Gary is the only one left and we have to buy him a new suitcase..He will be easy to pack anyway. Us girls have a lot to bring!! princess: princess:

Grabbed our beads and through them in the carry on.

We leave 2 weeks from this Friday!!!!!

Welcome to our new members!! :wave2:

It is getting hard to concentrate at work!! I can't imagine how the last week will be!! ;)

Michelle :rolleyes1

Jason and I decided to try that Metabolism / Body Composition Analysis that the spa offers... but we could only get into the afternoon after we finish stuffing ourselves at Palo brunch! I can picture the results now... "Watch that blubber fly!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We really are gluttons for punishment, I suppose (pun definitely intended). :teeth:

Paige, glad to hear that Rita has spared you and yours. And it's good to know that your hotel stay was such a good one - I'm sure that it could have made a stressful situation much worse if you were staying someplace where the staff were insensitive clods.

I'm with you Michelle - I don't know how productive I'me going to be over these next two weeks. My vacation actually starts October 10th, so I'm really starting to get antsy. :goodvibes

Brenda

HI to everyone. Gosh I can't believe how the time is flying by....It'll be here before we all know it. Not to long ago October 15th seemed so far away...now I'm not sure how I'm going to get everything done. Luckily I'm pretty much packed (at least for me and the the girls, hubby won't budge until the night before we leave I'm sure.) We have several busy weeks ahead of us. My yougest daughters birthday is Wednesday so we have all sorts of family things going on this weekend and then next weekend it's final packing and (Eric you'll be jealous) we're off to the Bronco's game. My husbands boss has seasons tickets at the club level which is really awesome. We usually get to go once each season. Hope the weather is good. Hi again to Evelyn...glad you rejoined the boards, and that you'll be wearing those Mardi Gras beads at the port...It'll be nice to meet a fellow Denver Neighbor. Although Chances are we'll meet at the airport...we are definatly on the same flight. Unless something changes our seat numbers are row 17 seats B,D,E,F if you want to stop and say Hi. Are the other members of your group travelling on the same flight as well or are they from different parts of the country. Well must run...Diane.

Anyone have the Yahoo site address handy? All alone at work today and I want to play!!!! :teeth:

Nancy

Took a two-hour lunch with a friend of mine who does scrapbooking...she took me to her favorite store and do they ever have a ton of Disney stuff. So...needlesss to say I had to get a bunch of stuff in order to be pre-positioned for all those picture I know we're going to take next month. :teeth:

Last year we took more than 250 pics, which is a record for us.

I am so excited...only 19 more days 'til we cruise!

Just wondering...

Who else, besides Michelle and I, are "doc-less"?

Nancy :guilty:

Hey Mia's Mom, what kind of a camera did you buy?? I just purchased a small digital camera so that we can fit it in our pocket, Canon SD400 digital elph......I really don't know much about camera's but it looked pretty good! I hope to take a lot of pictures and am hoping since it is so small we will take it everywhere!

I've been cruising other threads....very dangerous....

Disney offers this beautiful pearl mickey necklace, does anyone have it?? I really want this necklace...sort of pricey $214, but what a great memory of the cruise!! It is listed under the dcl website http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/d...sListing?name=ExclusiveMerchandiseListingPage

I also just read this post.... :earseek:

QUOTE=Mickeygirlie]I just got off of the Wonder and in CC I was on a raft and I floated up to the beach and was talking with my husband who was sitting in a chair at the edge of the water. We turned around and there was a baby shark that was about 4-5 feet long, just swimming by. Let me tell you I was out of that water sooooo fast, we went back to the ship and sat by the pool!!! ::MickeyMo
[/QUOTE]

I thought that CC had a net or something.......am I wrong?? Anyone!!
I understand that the ocean has all kind of sea life, but for some reason I have in my head that there is a net!! ...maybe I'm just dreaming!!
