October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

welcome to all the newbies!

Congrats Kborn on the vow renewal, how fun!!! :) And, I'll make sure I take my dramamine that Friday evening. ;)

Oh, I have a DS 6 that is a first grader too.

The more the merrier....

Have you all been watching Michael (BigBen) on Fat March? My family has been and the kids keep asking "which guy is on our cruise?" I watch it while walking the treadmill trying to walk off a few extra myself before all of the great cruise food.

I hope things keep going well for you in the next episodes. I know you can't tell us the end result, but good luck.

So Keith, are we all invited to the vow renewal?:cool1:

Welcome to all the new cruisers, glad to see you joining us.

It should be on the family beach, so everyone is invited...but I will have to put my foot down on everyone coming to the second Honeymoon!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

kborn, are you doing the VR through Disney Fairytale Weddings? If so, lots of special surprises for you! WE got them all last year. :)

Regs,

Chad J.

Hi all! I'm new on this forum so bear with me. My family is very excited to be going on our very first cruise ever. Can you say we're just a tad excited! Cruising with me will be my DH and my DD (5yrs.). I've got a countdown clock going on the computer. I'm so thrilled to find this website and discussion board so we have the opportunity to talk to some of you before our Oct. 13-20 cruise. Are there any tips/hints/suggestions you think we need to know before we cruise. Thanks alot! Kristi

Hello everyone and welcome to all the new posters!

I will be gone a few days. I am at college right now using the computer lab.
Lightning struck near our home and my PC, broadband equiptment, washer, and TV, and furnace are all toasted. I am getting new ones or else repairs made but it will be awhile so I will post more after everything is made right again.

Good news no one was harmed and I have insurance.

Yes we are....thanks for the info, we are looking forward to it. Our original wedding was done on a very low budget, so we are excited about this one. My wife had her Wedding dress custom made just for the beach wedding. She looks incredible in it...I know, I know, I'm not supposed to see her in it, but she could not wait to show it to me.;) :lmao: ;)

I tried to save us some money and have the renewal on Orient Beach, but for some reason she would not go for the the White Thong and Veil idea:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1. I even told her I would wear the Black speedo and bowtie:scared1: :lmao: :scared1: :lmao:

Hey everyone -
Has anyone heard how Costa Maya is doing? Dean rolled right over the top of it, and being a cat 5 it was no srinking violet.
Tamie - I will not be on this years cruise:sad2: because my wife is due with our 3rd child October 19th:banana: . I said that I would still take the other 2 on the cruise, but she didn't go for that. Thank you for watching Fat March.
If anyone wants to see pictures from Fat March you can go to www.myspace.com/2andout

I check back in again to hi till then
March On

Good luck, BigBen!!! How amazing to be on that show!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Finally got my tush in gear and went to the post office last Wednesday to apply for DS's passport. I paid the expediting fee.
Can you believe it? I got his passport in the mail TODAY:scared1:
Only 1 week INCLUDING overnight shipping both ways!!!

Hey Bev...sorry to hear about the 'near miss' and the problems it created. Hope all gets replaced/repaired as painless as it can be. Our best. Wish I could pass my employee discount to replace your washer...but if you need and infomation on replacement of the washer...I might be able to help - feel free to PM me if I can assist.

OK...this was a visual I could have done with out. Please excuse the joke - I could'nt help myself. Congrats on hosting a vow renewal at a fantastic place. Hope you will share your experiences/photos with us.

Speaking of photos...does anybody have interest in sharing photos after we cruise. I love photography and keeping an album to remember these vacations when I'm older - and grayer. Last cruise...we used ShutterflyDOTcom and the DIS'ers posted/shared some wonderful group, landscape and personal photos. I can set this up just like our Yahoo Groups site...safeguarded by user name a password. Please post your thoughts -

A warm welcome to all the newbies. Any residing in a cooler area are welcome to send relief our way. We just had our 28th day in August of 110 degree tempatures...man am I ready for this heat wave to be over. Tomorrow is only susposed to be 108 - yea...a cooling trend----K

Kevin ~ I LOVE that idea!!! It'd be awesome to get different perspectives. Definitely count me in to share and post my post-cruise pics.

What a great idea :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone. I know I'm new here so it shouldn't come as a shock that for the past couple of days I've been reading up on what's been going on in this forum. First of all, as far as the weather to pass on to Kevin, it's been in the 60's the last 3 days and will be in the low 70's today. Sooo, I'll do my weather dance and try to send some your way. :) Secondly, I love the idea of sharing photos. I saw earlier on that Kevin created another website to share. Again, I know I'm new but I'd really love my family to be a part of that group. Also, earlier you all were talking about DIS-tag. If that is a go, my family would LOVE to join you if that's alright. I want this cruise to be absolutely amazing on every possible angle. Only 51 days left to go. :) Earlier I saw that someone suggested the chain links for the kids to remove every day. I can't imagine the long ones you must have done back almost a year ago. I thought that was such a great idea that my daughter and I are going to do that tomorrow night during our movie night. Thanks so much for all the info you all have shared on this website. It's been very helpful. I hope my family has the opportunity to meet many of you on board. Kristi PS: When I introduced our family I didn't share much. Sooo, here it goes: Me (37), DH (41), DD (5), we live in Harrisburg, PA, my DH and I in 1992 did our honeymoon in WDW. By the way, this is our last family vacation of 3 before we head back over to Vietnam to adopt another little girl (we adopted our daughter at 3-1/2 months). We truly want this vacation to be as "magic"al as possible for our daughter (and us). Talk to ya'll soon!

Hey Kevin count me, DW:love: and DGD:love: in on the sharing of photo's. We too want too make this cruise as much fun and memorable as we can. And, what better way then to share some memories with new found friends.:yay:  :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear your weather is still HOT. It ain't been much fun here in sunny Florida either. We live on the coast and are suppose to get some nice sea breezes.....NOT Happen'n Weatherman says rain is suppose to move in the area sometime in the next day or two, and lower the temps. He better be right or he might get hog tied tarred and feathered and rode out of town on a rail!!!!!hahahahahahaaaaa:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Kevin,
I'm doing all the dancing and chants I can think of to get our weather over to you. Here in the Hudson Valley we have had average temps in the low 70's and even set a record LOW on monday....! I practice open water swimming with a group every wednesday and last night I swear there was a thin layer of ice forming on the surface of the lake....

According to the weather guy this weekend is supposed to be in the 90's so maybe my dances have worked after all....maybe to well.:thumbsup2

I saw earlier on that Kevin created another website to share. Again, I know I'm new but I'd really love my family to be a part of that group.

Send Kevin an email (he posted it which I think I copied not that far back. I'm just too lazy (and hot LOL) to search again for it. He'll add you to the Yahoo Group.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

As far as what to know before the cruise (we're 1st time cruisers, too), I just read, read, and read! Disboards is awesome and you really do get overwhelmed with information. There are some threads tacked to the top that have Helpful Hints/Tips.

Have fun!

Hope this finds all well.

lookee here - lookee here....we have some now members....WELCOME!!!

Since we have some new friends and it's been a while since this subject has been brought up...here is some information on our 'off Dis web site'...if you've not joined...please look for the link at the end of this post.

On our past cruise, we grew to ~30 families participating on a DIS cruise thread. I’ve got some great memories as we had a blast!!! This group really needed a place to share data that The-DIS does not offer. We used Yahoo Groups and it worked wonderfully.
For our 07 cruise, I set one up through Yahoo Groups as a ‘closed site’ – i.e., a Moderator needs to ‘invite’ someone to participate. It would be my personal preference in keeping this a ‘closed site’. However, if ‘our group’ prefers, I can change this to an ‘open site’ allowing any/all with an internet connection to view the information we have added. I don’t want to dwell on the ‘horrors in the world’...just want to keep ‘our information’ as secure as we can – rant off.

This is an ‘off-DIS’ web site for us to share information (files – photos – polls – database – links...etc). It’s an amazing organizing tool that offers us free data storage (can’t get much better than that). Of course...they will offer links and banners (I call them Internet commercials) to ‘suggest’ you purchase goods/services from one of their vendors. However, you are under no obligation to review or purchase ANYTHING.

Should you want an invite to this site....click on the bleow link and include the e-mail address you want the invite to

kevin.smith@appl.ge.com;d_Isigny@msn.com

You can always send me a PM, but this may take longer for me to get your request.

Finally....this site is not intended to replace The-DIS Cruise Thread...at all. It’s my hopes we can share information with each other...making our cruise and vacation planning easier.

well....guess it's time to go back to our 'guessing game'.

simple question - where on the ship are you???

Thanks so much for the info! :) I really appreciate it. I see that after you responded Kevin also responded and gave the address for me to e-mail him. Sooo, I don't have to go hunting for it. (I can be kinda lazy as well :)). Thanks for the info also about the info. I have been reading lots and the more I read the more excited I seem to get. I really can't wait! Hard to believe it's only 1-1/2 months away! :) Take care and thanks again!

Hey Kevin. Thanks soooo much for the e-mail address. I'll be sending you an e-mail shortly. Take it easy! Kristi
