October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

snicksed, I have never used hotwire before, but I am very interested in using it to stay in the Hyatt (fingers-crossed) the night before our cruise. My question is...If you don't include children in your search than do you include them after you make the purchase and are giving them all your info?

Also, we are traveling 2 adults & four kids (14,13,10, & 6). Would I search for 2 rooms with 2 adults in each and then put in the children after the purchase? I have no idea how to go about this and any help/input from anyone is greatly appreciated. :confused3

Thanks!!! :)

In my previous attempts (and success) at getting the Hyatt on Hotwire, I've had to NOT add children in the search or the hotel wouldn't show up in the search. I would just search using "2 adults". I'd then call and request double beds, no smoking, etc. We would show up with our "1" child and everything was fine.

After reading your post, I went to Hotwire and did a search for my upcoming date (4/10-4/11) using 2 adults, 4 children. It was more than the max of 4 guests per room. I tried again using 1 adult, 2 children. The $68 MCO 3 1/2* came up (yes. it's 68 now. ). This is the one I selected for my trip. It is the Hyatt.

I guess you can include children now. :thumbsup2 I would book the 2 rooms using 1 adult in each room with 2 children, then after you purchase, call the hotel and ask they be next to each other.

I'm positive I'll be booking it sometime in September. I will absolutely post here and let everyone know the details.

Hope that helps! :)

Now, as I was posting this, I just did the same search with 1 adult, 2 children for 10/12, and it doesn't come up... but it does with 2 adults! ($95) :sad2: Very strange.

Thanks snicksed! :) Your information does help and is much appreciated!

I think what I will do is periodically check for 2 rooms, with 1 adult and 2 children in each AND 2 rooms, with 2 adults in each and compare. Then I can always call and request the rooms to be (hopefully) next to each other and for non-smoking and 2-double beds. thanks again, this will be a first for me.

Hi everyone! I was posting when we first booked our cruise last July but slacked off due to a hectic life!! I am amazed at how quickly time has flown by! An update, I am Tracy and I'm an ER nurse in MA. My husband Jeff and our 8 year old daughter will be cruising for the first time! We'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary while on the cruise! We're Disney fanatics and can't wait to go on this cruise!!

We booked JetBlue for $99 each way and a room for the night before at Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Cape Canaveral, FL. Supposedly it's the closest hotel to the cruise ships and we got it for $89/night including breakfast! We'll spend Friday poking around the area and be ready to go on Saturday morning.

Looking forward to talking with you all! :goodvibes

We are getting in the day before and were planning a later flight, in the early evening after our DS and friend finished school. We were first planning on staying at the Hyatt because we would be getting in so late.

However now we are taking an early flight out and staying at the CBR and planning on finishing the day at EPCOT :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: We talked with the parents of our DS friend and they had no problem taking him out for one more day. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We have DU setting this all up for us, we only just sent an e-mail to our consultant and she is now working on the the new details.

Happy Easter everyone!! :flower3:

I don't know about you all, but here in WI we were just at church wishing people Merry Christmas!! It is 23 degrees here and FREEZING!!

Easter Bunny brought DD a swimsuit for the cruise! Isn't it great how even the Easter Bunny knows we are going on vacation!!? :rotfl2:

Hope you all have a warmer holiday than we are having!

Morning to One & All,

My wife and I went ahead and booked another cruise for October 2008 the other day. I read somewhere in one of the forums I was reading that you can transfer a future booked cruise while on board the Disney Cruise Ship to take advantage of their cruise discount and get a shipboard credit. Is this true? If so where on board do I go to do this? :confused3
I was reading some of the comments made about the weather up north. It has been down right chilly down here in Florida too!!:rolleyes1 Down in the 50's at night and only in the low 70's during the day. But don't you guys up north worry about us.:sad2: We floridians are a tuff bunch. We'll make it thru this cold spell, and welcome ya'll when you get down here. :rotfl2: :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Cute, very cute! :goodvibes (It's curently 16 degrees here in Minnesota)

Hey, we are "building character" here in the Great Lakes area. We don't want to get too soft and lazy with all that warm, breezy weather. We want tough skin, covered up with our big, warm parkas.

Ok, well, we are really looking forward to spring, if it ever gets here. For now, it is just hanging out at the DISboards and watching the DCL video over and over! :santa:

How many more days until we leave?? :cool1:

PS: Since I am on a shopping binge (with all my extra money - HAHAHAHA) just thought I would let all you moms with DD know that the Limited Too has lots of cute tanks and shirts with skulls on them for the POTC party. You may have to forego an excursion or two to pay for them, but they are cute nonetheless! :rotfl2:

We're expecting snow here in MA on Thursday night! :scared: It makes me even more impatient for October to get here!!

Who has kids ages 8-12 on this cruise? My dd will be almost 9 when we sail and is feeling a bit apprehensive about the Oceaneers Lab. She is a tomboy and likes to hang out mostly with boys. Are your kids looking forward to this cruise?

I have been spending way too much time reading trip reports! :goodvibes

I have a DD 10 and a DD 17 at time of sailing.
We decided to spend the night before at a hotel at Cocoa Beach so who knows maybe a DISer meet can be arranged for that night or else on board.
I hope some of the kids can meet each other before we board or soon after, they might feel more comfortable that way.

I have a DD who will just have turned 10 in Sept. Our friends are going, too, and they have a DD,9 and DS,5 at cruise time. Both girls are thrilled to go. We actually gave my DD the choice of 7 days in the park or the 7 day cruise, (or the combo) and she chose the cruise. (I think she thinks we would make her ride the rollercoasters in the parks, which she is terrified to do. ) She has been throwing around the port names and ship restaurants like she is some VIP cruiser around here. (We have never gone on a cruise before!) I think my excitement has definitely gotten to her, and we are driving my DH totally nuts. :woohoo:

My daughter is excited about the clubs, but she has been in daycare and is pretty easy going and comfortable in new situations. I, too, think it would be fun for the kids to email each other before-hand. Give them a chance to get to know one another and make some new friends/penpals. (I am also a Girl Scout leader who thinks it is pretty cool to meet kids and see what life is like in another state.) Bev and Tidoublegger, I will pm you and let's see if we can get the girls to email, at least. That way, they can have some friends when they hit the ship.

PS: We are also coming the night before, so will be curious as to what hotel you have booked, as we have not decided yet. A DIS meet would be fun! :grouphug:

My DD is 10 too! Her brothers and cousin will be cruising too, but they are either younger or older. It would be nice for the girls to "meet" prior to the cruise. :)

P.S. It is currently 32 degrees, but with wind feels like 22. Oh, and it's snowing! :scared1: I am so looking foreward to the cruise, warmth, sunny skies, tropical drink, sunglasses, a good book, and mickey. ;)

Hi Jen!!!

Nancy (Molar Express) here! Did you see the message on the ME thread that Paul and Molly had another little girl?

Just stopping in to say "hi" and ask that you take good care of our ship as we sail Oct 20th!:wave2:

I know Kevin will be reading this too, so a big "SNOWY" Wisconsin hello to the Smith family too.:flower3:

Nancy:hippie:

We would be up for a DIS meet the night before! We actually get in very early on the 12th so we'll be around all day doing some sightseeing! I PM'd Bev, Jen & Michelle with our email address for the kids to 'talk' if they want! Check out Country Inn & Suites for lodging! That's where we're staying~ looks like there were great reviews of this new hotel! The price is right too! We're planning on renting a car through Budget and using it for the 24hr time period and then dh will drop dd and I off at the port and he'll return the car and then take the shuttle to the port. Cheaper than limo service and we'll have use of the car for the day to sightsee! :thumbsup2

Hi Nancy! :) So nice to hear from you!

No, I didn't see that Paul & Mollie had another little girl. I'll have to go on over to the ME thread and wish them a congrats. Babies are so precious! (never mind, I knew they had a baby girl. I think I was up to early this morning).

So your cruising right after us, huh? We will try and make sure the Magic is in ship shape working order for you and make sure that our pal Mickey gives you a warm welcome. ;)

Thanks for stopping by and say "hello" to Brenda for me. :goodvibes

Having been 'out of the loop' for a while, I would like to do a roll call:

:coffee: Tracy age 40

pirate: Jeff age 42

DD :dogdance: Alex 8 (almost 9) on cruise

I can't believe it's only 6 months away!

I had booked awhile back a room at the Residence Inn the night before but just switched over to Country Inn & Suites ($70 cheaper!). We won't be able to meet up with any DISers that night because we don't know yet when we'll be arriving. We plan to spend that day in Disney World:banana:

Too many details to work out: Still need airfare...rental car...hotel(s) in Orlando...you know, the minor stuff:rolleyes:

Hey Guys! Put my DD on the list too for email she will be 9 at cruise time. Don't forget about the Yahoo website with info on it. My email is on it.

I'm nervous about passports. Our appoinment at the postoffice is not for another 2 weeks!!! I'm hoping with the summer rush coming to an end the processing time won't be even longer.

We are staying at the Hyatt at MCO the night before.

I also have lots to do on my To Do List (trip insurance, airline tickets, order tux for DH, and pray the hurricaine forecast for this season will be wrong like last year!)

Good to hear from everyone. Cathy
