October 13, 2013 4 Night Cruise!!!!

:welcome: We have cruised together before - on the Southern. I look forward to seeing you both again!

This will fill our dance card with DCL and we will have been on all four ships!
This one will fill our dance card, too. And after the back end of our B2B (10/17- 10/20), we'll be Platinum cruisers!!! :sail:

:welcome: to new posters!!!

We have cruised Princess and RC before and my hubby arranged the meet and greet on princess. When he did so, he actually sent invites to the captain and officers.

They showed up! We had the captain and several officers attend! it was really awesome! we got our pictures taken with them too..!!

Is this done for M&Gs on Disney? and if not..why not? And do you schedule the meeting space through DCL or not? When my hubby organized ours, he contacted princess and we had a reserved area in a lounge.

Thanks!

Welcome to the new additions to our thread! :grouphug:

I will update the Roll Call when I get back from the Dominican Republic.

Make sure to add yourself to the Fish Extender list if you'd like to participate.

If you take the tram, you're going to walk right past it on your way to the beach. If you want to look on a map, look for the Photo Op location near Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. :)

PS - I'm the other half of the Corwin17 party :cool1:

Thanks for the info and welcome.. I was just showing all your cruises and how you went on most 4 day cruise to get to platinum faster..to my husband. We had our first cruise last year on the Fantasy. Now we are hooked.. I think I have talked him into the B2B too.

Hello!

My family will be going on this cruise. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We have been on a Dream 5 night and a Fantasy eastern. We will be cruising with my parents (Ken and Jo). This will be their first cruise. We are very excited and cannot wait until October gets here. We have always cruised in May but this year we decided to go during fall break. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

For the roll call:
Kim, Larry, Matthew (10), Nicholas (6)
room # 6512
dining - late

My parents
Ken and Joyce
room # 6510
dining - late

We are not celebrating anything but Nicholas's birthday is Oct. 29, so we have told him we are going on a cruise for his birthday. He is super excited now.

I know my countdowns are wrong. We were originally booked on the cruise after this one. Luckily, I realized it was not the week of fall break

Welcome,
Look forward to seeing you onboard, my parents are coming also and its their first cruise too...
Julie

If you guys have a smart phone there is a great app called Ship Mate has all the boats list, but I just follow the Disney one.. You can list all your upcoming cruises. It has a roll call and a count down.

Our 1st 3 cruises were pin events, back when pin trading was still fun. Most of the time we were staying at the parks before and after the cruise....of course, that hasn't changed :rotfl2: This time we're doing B2B 4 and 3 night cruises to FINALLY reach Platinum (using DVC points for the 3 night in a Cat 00V)!

I've arranged several meet & greets aboard Disney cruises but never thought to invite any of the Disney crew. We typically have an embarkation M&G and I figured they'd be pretty busy getting the ship ready to sail but who knows?

Regarding the meeting space, it depends. For the embarkation M&G's I've done, they're typically large (100+ people) so I've scheduled them in the large Promenade Lounge for the Magic and Wonder (always open during embarkation). I haven't cruised on the Dream, nor have I done any of these short cruises out of Port Canaveral so I don't know what the routine is. Perhaps those that have done this could offer up their experience?

Other folks on the cruises we have taken have scheduled other meets and have gotten DCL to reserve them a space in one of the smaller lounges. They are typically very accommodating to their guests.

My Hubby sent out really nice invitations when he did the princess M&G - I think we had 40 attendees. We got all the senior officers except the cruise director, who was running bingo or some event. It was really nice! I think it was during our sea day - he is in the shower so if I'm wrong I'll edit this post.

If you want, I can ask him to send a copy of the invites, because the captain and crew complimented him on it.

My Hubby is a Jeff too. I think organizing things like this is in your blood...lol!

I do not think he wants to organize anything for this cruise because he gave me a look when I asked him. :rolleyes1

Does any know what they might be doing in each port?

We are going to try the Blue Lagoon Beach day excursion. Our tablemates on our first cruise did this excursion and they loved it.

I have this app and I keep forgetting about it.

We had our cruise meet in the pool area on the Dream and on the Fantasy. It wasn't the best place to meet. It was hard to meet everyone and a couple times we were talking to people who weren't a part of the meet. They were nice, but thought it was strange that we were introducing ourselves as kimistry6 or husband of kimistry6.

Thanks for adding us to the rollcall!

We must be getting closer - I can book excursions (I think DH is going to take the fort tour) and Palo/Remy this weekend! I made my final payment this morning to be sure it would clear and I could do what was needed this weekend.

But, not much else new in my world. Well, that isn't exactly true and I don't think I shared with you all - we are going to be grands in August this year and then again (oldest son) in January!!! The January baby is actually going to be going on the second leg of the Fantasy B2B so I am excited about that.

OK, at least we are back on page one. Everyone have a wonderful evening!

We are Gold Castaway Club cruisers so our booking window doesn't open until 6/30 so not far off. :cool1:

Our window doesnt open till July 15th. One more cruise after this and we will be Gold :thumbsup2

We are booking the Blue Lagoon Beach Day as well. Our last two cruises to Nassau, we did the Sea Lion Encounter on Blue Lagoon - which by the way was a lot of fun. Just think, I will get in the water with something the size of a VW Bug, but I will not go in with a dolphin. They remind me too much of sharks (all I hear in my head is the music from Jaws!) :scared:

Wanting to find other people on this cruise

Welcome to the cruise.. This is my Mom ( Sue)and she just signed up for the disboards. This will also be her first cruise ever. I have told her how everyone is so nice on the Disney Cruises. I also talked her into the doing the FE. Julie

Wanting to find other people on this cruise

:welcome: and I apologize for missing you! This is going to be a great trip!

Cruise Meets - we met once on the Magic on a pool deck and it didn't not work out so well - we were just in the way (or so it felt) with people travelling to and fro on the decks. I have only sailed once on the new ships and did not go to that meet so I don't remember where they met but my guess would be in one of the lounges. I will do a search as some point this weekend and see if I can figure out where other groups have met.

Well, tonight is the big night. I guess I am going to try and book Palo and Remy for dinners. Sort of only leaves us two nights in the dining rooms but that is OK. DH also wants to do the fort tour so that will be his excursion and I will just hang out on the ship and hopefully snag a lounger in a quiet spot.

Take care and have a great day!

This is only our second cruise so we do not open for quite awhile, I think. Only thing we are really anxious about is getting an adults only cabana.

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day!

Well, I got the reservations I wanted but I am most certainly confused as our itinerary is not the same on the reservation site as it is everywhere else and to top it all off, I think that the excursions are loaded for the right days! I hope they deal with it soon - who would have thought to look for the Nassau excursions on the day it shows us in Castaway, but that is where I found them.

Gorgeous day here today. If it could stay like this until it was time to cruise, I would be one happy lady!
