October 13, 2012--Magical Galveston Cruise!!!

The final FE list and map were emailed out to everyone this morning. I had some issues :rolleyes1 with my ability to email this morning :faint:, but I think I have now got the right map and list to everyone. If you don't see an email from me, let me know.

The last version, which includes Deanna's cabin assignment has FINAL in the PDF titles, in case I was confusing ya'll as much as I was confusing myself!

Awesome job putting this together! We had a really good time with this on our last cruise. It's like playing Santa.

Thanks for the thoughts! It will be 5 weeks this Sunday since I broke my collarbone. I'm still wearing a sling (figure 8 sling that goes around my shoulders). Everyday is an improvement. It is in the healing process and, although I won't be 100%, we are looking forward to a great cruise. We had to change one excursion, but still plan on doing everything else we wanted.

Can't wait til next Friday. We will be staying in Galveston the night before. And we get to see the Disney Wonder in port when we go to the airport (San Diego).

Safe travels to everyone!

Chad.

So glad that you are going to make the cruise and you are making a recovery! I guess you will be easy to spot around the ship! ;-) Glad you got the FE email. How fun to see the Wonder as well!!

The Magic is just arriving into port this morning!

Glad you are getting better every day, Chad. We are flying out Friday from Los Angeles to Houston. I have a town car service and hotel lined up so one less thing to worry about. This is our 3rd cruise and we are as excited about this one as we were the first 2. We've had a pretty stressful month so once I get on that plane I am leaving it ALL behind me :crazy2: Getting my FE's finished up this weekend. One of my projects isn't working out the way I'd like but luckily I have a plan B. I appreciate everybodies hard work on the FE gifts whether they are bought or made. One cruise I brought pirate hats for Pirate Night that I found online and my hubby kept nudging me all night saying, '"look someone else is wearing one of those hats you passed out". LOL! Who would have thought such a silly little giveaway would be such a big hit.
Counting the days!! :beach:

Has any one looked into what the weather will be like the week we are there? one week to go!!!!!

Susan, we are from Southern California too! We also fly out Friday from LAX and we have a 4 year old daughter who will be 5 in a couple weeks :)

:wave2: Chad glad to hear you are healing and getting to make the cruise ::yes::.

Had :drive: some stuff to find today and now home to pack :scared:.
Dena

According to the weather channel Grand Cayman - high 86 am showers, Cozumel high 82, 40% chance showers,

I am watching the Magic leave port on the webcam. Can y'all believe that the next time she does that WE WILL BE ON IT?!?!?!?!?!

Just one more week for the kids NOT to find out. It is getting HARD!!!!

This week is going to go by so fast. :crazy2: I'm not sure I could have kept the cruise a secret, especially this long.

Everyone is glad you are able to make the cruise!

We watched the Magic sail in this morning, she was early - came around the end of the island about 5:30 am and was docked by 6:30 am. Missed her sailing way, although it sounds like she was a little earlier than the past two weeks. Last weekend it appeared she was held up by the fuel tanker for the Triumph. :rolleyes1

Got all of our FE gifts finished today. :cool1::banana: We haven't participated in the FE on our last 2 cruises, but I have to admit to really enjoying putting these together. :dance3:

Looking forward to seeing those that can make it to the Promenade Lounge at 3 pm next Sat. It's good to finally see faces for all those names that we've shared the planning/mulling pointless facts/countdowns.

I can see that everyone is so excited, so am I. Jenny glad that your mum made it here ok, glad to see that Chad is doing ok. I am so ready to go. Yesterday, it was 85 degrees here in Arkansas and today it is 48. I already need some warm weather. I have been checking the weather channel so far it seems that it will b e a nice day to sail away. I actually got three suitcases packed today. I look forward to meeting everyone. deanna

Our son just turned 5 last month. The crazy thing is that the space shuttle will be going past our house (literally) Friday morning and we are going to miss it. (How was I supposed to know 13 months ago when I booked this trip?!) Hopefully we can make it to the airport without any issues. If you want to spot us at the airport we'll be the family with the biggest smiles on our faces. LOL!:)

We saw the shuttle at Disneyland, so we got our fill :)

I have not even begun to pack-I will only probably get to it the night before-does that make me a bad planner? Lol, gotta have fresh laundry!

Glad chad doin well also

Y'all have probably discussed Galveston already but if you get in a day early, moody gardens is very fun

Sorry, so many things to say....,,but 0ne week will be first night onboard!!!! Yat

ukintheus I am not sure if this was discussed before for the FE and it might even be too late to do now but I read on another FE thread about how they were going to assign people certain days to give out their items so that way we are not all doing it at the same time. I thought it was a good idea because I would not want to have everyone try to give out the stuff in the first few days and have nothing for the last few days. If it is too late to assign people I understand and again it was just an idea I read about that sounded cool cuz that way we can get a few items every day of the trip. What do you think?

:hourglass Hopefully traffic to the airport won't be to affected. When they moved the mockup we have here in Houston, it took them something like 6 hrs to move it 3 1/2 to 4 miles:sad1: .

It's about 57 here this morning, cooler weather that's for sure! I hope we get some warmer weather next week. :cheer2:

You and us! I can't wait now that the second round of cruisers have come back with great reports on how beautiful the Magic still looks and how great their cruise was. :beach:

I'm not packing until later this week - I can't do it the night before as I have to be at the airport to pick up my sister, but I'll probably pack Thursday night. ::yes::

It's a good idea, but I think it might be a bit late to try and organize. There are also about half the participants that aren't really active about posting or emailing, so that would make it a bit more difficult. :confused3 The problem with assigning days to deliver is that a lot of people buy things for pirates night pirate: and so want to deliver before then.

There are some good reports coming back from those just getting off the second cruise. :cool1: One is that the traffic on Harborside was very busy because of the two cruise ships leaving at about the same time. Just something to think about. :upsidedow
