October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

Just took inventory of the sunscreen...pitched whatever was expired. I wanted to see if we needed any as Target has my favorite Hawaiin Tropic on sale!

What would be the best sunblock to buy because my son is very fair skinned and so isn't his father and I don't want any of us to burn. TIA

Grace is very fair, so I have her wear a rash guard as often as possible. Because her skin is a bit sensitive, I always use Aveeno sunscreen products on her...at least 50 SPF. We usually do a base of lotion before she leaves the stateroom, and then use the sprays for reapplying. On her face, we have had good luck with a Hawaiian Tropic suncreen stick. It's also SPF50 or so and it is clear, so she doesn't "look like a nub" with white stuff all over her face (as she puts it!). She's also pretty good about keeping on a sun hat when she's not swimming or snorkeling, which really is the only way to ensure that her cheeks don't get red. I like Tuga sunhats...the have some cool prints for kids and they are reversible with chin straps.

Jay thinks he gets tan, but he doesn't really. He's Irish and just gets different shades of pink/red. He usually uses my Hawaiian Tropic lotion...SPF30 or higher. I tan easily, but in the Caribbean sun, I reapply very frequently.

And that's quite a saga on our family's sunscreen situation... But one more thought...there are plenty of shaded areas to lounge in on the ship and on Castaway Cay for when you just have to get out of the sun. :beach:

how do we get the girls to meet? it would be great to have someone to know right away...??:yay::yay:

If you and I meet at the Dis Meet without the kids, we can pick a time to 'introduce' them...maybe at the Sail Away party later in the afternoon (although it's crazy crowded) or even around the pool the next morning.

Why would you not bring your kids to the DisMeet? It's for everybody to meet, including all of the kids.:goodvibes

I said that bc I believe she mentioned that she was the only one from her party coming to the Meet.

Okay...I was just wondering. Just want to make sure that everyone knows that children are also welcome at the DisMeet, but I fully understand if some children, or adults, from each group decide not to go. After all, there is a lot to do on the ship!!!

Hope you figure out a time and place for the kids to meet up!!!

I would like to see if we can get in on the roaming gnome still. We decided not to do fish extenders this trip due to space restrictions and the fact that I now have an extra suitcase just for everyone's costume. Sure wish the airlines weren't charging for luggage. It makes it really tough for a family of 6!
On another note, it looks like one of my kids will either be on crutches or wearing a boot during the cruise. Noah sprained one ankle and broke the opposite foot on Tuesday. Was just running in the yard and both feet twisted under him. Poor kid is on crutches and having to bear weight on the sprained ankle using a boot right now. We will find out what the orthopedist is going to do about the break on Wednesday. I am hoping for boot and that we can take it off for beach and stuff by the time of the cruise.

Ouch!!:sad2: That's a bummer. Hopefully he will only need the boot.

Now, hoping that my Aunt receives her Mickey Mail today!! pixiedust:
