October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

Finished online checkin and booked our beach excursion on Grand Cayman. That's really the only excursion we decided to do. We will just mostly do shopping in the other ports and then spend time on the ship. Decided to pick 12-12:30 port arrival time even though earlier times were available. I don't want to get there with a lot of time before boarding starts. My DD gets really anxious when she has to wait. Now I need to call the Radisson and book our shuttle time to coincide with our port arrival time. Good luck to everyone in booking everything you want to book.

Wow - less than three months - 90 days!

This is our first cruise so we check-in and book excursions on July 29. I really hope there will be at least one Castaway Cay cabana left at 75 days out... If not, is anyone interested in splitting the cost of a cabana with a polite 3 person family? Oh well...

Shopping for pirate costumes is fun. I also plan on buying / renting tuxes for me and my 10 year old son for formal night. Working on FE and FE gifts, too. So much to do and time is ticking down...

Sorry, no cabanas. I was trying for one too. I'll be stalking the site daily until we leave, so if I happen to get lucky enough to snag one (if someone cancels), we might be able to share. We have 6 in our group, and I think the max is 10. My son is 10 too...so that would probably work out pretty nice!

Martin, we have been told they are, but only on Embarkation Day during the day. During that first afternoon, the whole ship is a bit of an open house

Can you pre book any of the tastings or mixology?

That's okay. My response is just going off of what I have heard, so I sent an email to DCL and asked specifically if this area is open to all ages at the time we want to meet. I will post their response once received.

We have found this to be true. You will see many families with children in tow passing through this area during the afternoon while exploring the ship. By evening, they will enforce that it is 'adults only'. In the past, we have had DD with us when going to this area to make ressies for tastings and to just look around the new ship right after boarding.

We sailed on the Disney Fantasy last October during Hurricane Sandy. This was a last minute decision to sail again for this October. Hoping to hit the parks this time before we sail.

We enjoyed the fish extender last year. My kids loved it! If there is room we would like to participate again.

to you and your family. Sorry you had to go through the ordeal of sailing during Hurricane Sandy. Sure hope history doesn't repeat!! I believe your sailing last October was a little later in the month, but of course, it's still Hurricane Season. Praying for wonderful weather during our cruise. I have sailed in October before on a Western Caribbean on the Magic in 2007 and we had mostly good weather....a little rain in Grand Cayman but not from a tropical system. My little group will be myself, my DD(24) and my Aunt.
