October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

Just popping by to say hi, so I don't fall to the very bottom of the "Look Who's Talking" list. HI!!

I am finally unpacked and finished with all the laundry from our Magic cruise. I am so ready for a do-over, that I am thinking planning thoughts this far in advance. Also made a deposit today on an October Dream sailing - yippee! I need a new ticker...

YOU DID:cool1:

Is it the Oct. 24th 2013 sailing by chance???

Just booked this! Love this itinerary! I knew if we waited to book until we go on the Fantasy 10/26/2013 it would be sold out. We have been to the SC before on Princess. Barbados & St Lucia are beautiful! Can't wait to go there again. We have never been on the Magic. Just the Wonder 3 times. Any suggestions on where to stay in San Juan if we go a few days early? We have never been there. Thanks:)

I have been looking around. I have checked out Price Line and done a little searching. I dont want to spenda fortune, but i dont want to be somewhere where i feel uncomfortable. I suppose ou pla will be to stay one night before ane one nigt after. So that we can also explore San Juan while we are there.

Best bet is to pm SSanders. He is cruising this week so I assume he won't make changes until he returns.

Thanks, I did PM him a couple weeks ago...thought I may have better luck posting on the thread. Will try another PM.

Somebody on FB mentioned the Sheraton in Old San Juan; supposedly it's right next to the port. Pictures look nice - I'm going to check it out when I'm there IN 2 WEEKS!! :cool1: (Yes, I'm excited for our March 23 cruise. :goodvibes)

what is your itenerary,

Are you leaving from the San Juan?i
or visiting a port of call?

We're on the Eastern after you, leaving on April 6th :). Looking forward to exploring San Juan, too! This will also be our Grand Slam cruise :cool1:.

We are staying at the Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan. I booked it yesterday by calling the hotel directly. Great reviews on Tripadvisor and close to alot of the things we want to see while there. Restaurant in the hotel comes highly recommended on Cruise Critic and it isn't too far from the port.

We're on the Fantasy Eastern, so it's just a port of call. But we want to stay there a day or two before this southern next year so we're excited to check it out, however briefly. We have a Segway excursion booked so we're hoping to get a good overview.

This Eastern is our grand slam too! :woohoo: SSanders79 and Silverfox97 are on the same itinerary this week (in fact, I think they're in my cabin :)) so I'm looking forward to hearing about their trip.

We actaully almost booked this same week as you guys since it is over spring break. But the price difference was significant if we waited 2 more weeks. Our daughter is only in Pre-K, so we figured it would be ok for her to miss a week of school :).

ok....so upon searching for a Hotel in San Juan,

I have now realized there is 2 ports and i would like to be close to the port we are leaving from i guess.

so which one is it?

Also, are there options for hotels that hve transportation to the port or will everyone be taking taxi's etc?

I am considering booking everything through DCL, since it's a port we've never used in a city we've never visited.

Does DCL give us an option of staying one night before and one night after?

And does that include the transfers as well?

From the hotel?

And to the hotel from the airport?
