October 11-18, 2008 Eastern Magic-Parrothead Pirates in Paradise! Chapter # 2

YOu know that is what I used the last time in my hallway for removing a border...

GOt ,,any suggestions for colors for my bedroom???!!!!!!!!

Just an idea from the painting three new bedrooms "front" at our new house...In order to not commit to definite all over colors in each room, I decided to use a neutral taupe, etc. on three walls and then choose a bolder color for the fourth wall...Boys room is light green with deep aqua on one wall and our room is taupe on three with a soft muted purple/mauve on the bed wall...Choices also came from the bedding I have already purchased...This way if I get tired of the color, I can deal with painting only one wall rather than the entire room. I have to be honest though, I was not allowed to paint due to my pregnancy, so my builder graciously offered to help with this task and everything looks great. Go to Disney with three "needy" rooms and come home to three beautifully cleanly painted rooms

As far as stripping wallpaper, I had the dreadful task of dealing with the new kitchen and dining room a couple of months ago...I spent $50 on a wallpaper steaming machine and it was the best $50 I have ever spent...Once I scored the paper with one of those noisy little gadgets, I then steamed away and it all peeled off like butter...I was ecstatic because I really thought I would be at the house for hours on end stripping all that wallpaper...

Still looking for a pirate chest for the cruise, but I did luck out yesterday at AC Moore's sale and picked up pirate ship magnetic foam frame sets that I will make for each of the kiddos for our cabin doors. I also got some great stickers for a door sign as well, including Mickey beachy stuff, pirates, parrots, etc. I figure if I acquire my supplies before the baby comes, I will then at least have the stuff in my possession to work on at home as the cruise approaches, since shopping will not be a priority for me after Baby #5 arrives! I think I will be unpacking at the new house for quite awhile now that I see HOW much stuff we have in our old house to deal with...UGH!!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

Colton is still sick. I think I can officially say he has the flu. I feel so bad for him. I am even doubting whether he will go to school tomorrow. Thankfully, we had a long weekend, so he won't miss as much. He missed his dentist appt this morning, so I rescheduled for Thursday and I am going to pray he is better by then!

After Connor's appt, we ran a few errands making Timmy's our final stop! So here I sit with my French Vanilla Cappuccino, Boston Creme doughnut and a box of TimBits! Life is good.....

Let's see if I can remember....

Kevin's bed is AWESOME and he is so cute in it! I noticed the Max and Ruby sheets too! And Erika, Little Bear is my favorite too! My favorite episode is the Winter Solstice one! (is that the same on where they get stuck and Granny's and Moose comes? If not, I like that one too, but Winter Solstice is my fave!)

I got sad news today. we have an exterminator, his name is Doug. He has been with us for 10 years. Connor is just 11, so he has known him his whole life. Well, on Dec 31, Doug was here and he sounded horrible. I asked if he was getting sick? He said, No, it's worse then that. I said, Is your prostrate bothering you again? (yes, that is how well I knew this man.) He said, No. They have told me I have non-treatable lung cancer. I totally lost it. I was crushed. This man I have known for 10 years is telling me his life on Earth has been limited. We cried together and then he said, I am just thankful and I a Christian. Will you pray for me? The owner of the company called me today to tell me that Doug lost his battle on Friday night....and that he would be coming out to treat my house today. It's just so hard...and almost seems not fair, but the Lord has a plan for each of us and we just need to make the best out of the time we have.

Well, sorry about being a downer.....I better get busy here. I am forcing Colton to shower and I need to strip his bed. I also need to call an Orthodontist to get a consult for Connor!

oh Michele I am so very sorry for your loss!!! we will keep you in our prayers it's always so hard loosing someone close to you for sure.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cancer is so hard... my MIL fought oral and esophageal cancer for 7 yrs and lost her battle in 06.

Tell Colton to get better! Being sick is NOT acceptable, he needs to be off hanging out with his friends and NOT exposing the rest of the family to this crud.

Yes, that is the Winter Solstice episode!!! We had that one on video tape, Alexa used to watch it over and over and over. She has a stuffed Little Bear that talks when you squeeze his tummy. I have tossed many of her animals but I can't get rid of him.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That is sad.

thank you all for your thoughts. I am going to try and get to the funeral home. I met his wife once and his sons a few times when they would ride with him. Although I don't know them well....as in speaking to them...I feel I know them because of our conversations about them.

On a HAPPY note!!! My friend called..."Have you seen the front of the paper?" "No, I've not looked at it yet" "Well, you better! Connor is on the front page!" WHAT?? LOL And it's not an arrest photo? J/K If you go to www.wvgazette.com in the photo of the classroom, if you look at the "fireplace" in the back, Connor is sitting in front of that in the white tshirt..between the 2 girls. The actual photo in the paper is better. How cool is that!?

Sorry I've been awol this weekend. It was Mom & Dad's birthday this weekend, Danzer45 (16th) and DH Jerry (15th). We were supposed to go out for dinner yesterday evening, but Mom has the "stuff" thats going around. She is supposed to have rotator cuff surgery soon, and they won't do it if she isn't over this stuff, so we postponed dinner for now. We took a sugar free cake and some not-so-sugar free Ben & Jerry's out to them last night, and had a good time anyway.

Happy Birthday Sandra and Jerry!!!! Sandra get better soon, we will all be thinking about you!!!

Wow we had a busy day here. Spent some time in the laundry room. Did some sanding a put what is hopefully the last coat of mud on the walls. I despise mudding but do it anyways. The did 2 trips across the city to go pick up the loft bed. We delt it for $450, not bad since they showed me the original receipt and they had paid 1500 for it. Kevin loves it, sleeping like a big boy in it. Nancy cooked dinner, a big fat steak and veggie stir fry. FInally turned the computer back on and there was a message from DCL. Since DU is our TA only they can add the air travel to the res so now it's up to them if they can add it. If now, we wil probably buy the air through airmiles.

Busy day, the pics are adorable, sounds like you got a great deal. I just sold my sit and stand stroller on kijiji. Actually the lady is picking it up today. That site is pretty cool, at least there are no fees like ebay.

It was. It was a real special trip. There were a good number of DISers with great organization skills. We had a meet the day before at the Beach Club. One guy coordinated collecting pictures from everyone and made a DVD set out of everyone's pictures. We ended up with 5 DVD of photos from a 4-day cruise!

Also, as a parent, you can go to the top of that thread and click on the link in the red square that says THREAD TOOLS, simple click on that and then the SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD. Then you can patrol the thread. I think they will enjoy having their own thread and being able to all talk together!
