Help me out here! I am one of the chairs for the school carnival. I am trying to come up with inexpensive, but NICE prizes for the kids. I don't want to buy a bunch of that crappy toy stuff...yanno what I'm talking about! So far, I have pens, pencils and silicone bracelets...all with the school logo embossed. Pens and pencils are about 15 cents each and the bracelets I found for about 25 cents! What other items would be a fun promo? Folders and waterbottles looked to be too much. I'm trying to keep the "big" prizes at under 25...then the smaller trinkety stuff will be the little prizes.

The wind began to whip, the house to twitch....hang on Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore! I do declare, there's a storm a brewin' out there!

Sorry if this was mentioned before......but did you try the website www.orientaltrading.com

They have all different types of things that you can order in bulk. Some good stuff and some junk, but tons of stuff to look at.

hey all,

AHhh, it isn't suppose to stop snowing until tomorrow evening, make it stop. Denis it will take you forever to get to TO, you better leave now:rotfl: I know Alec isn't looking forward to the drive in tomorrow either. Nancy, what time is good for you??:lmao: there won't be alot of room in the suitcase though. Michelle what about lanyards, we had them made with the school logo on them, the kids loved them and they were pretty cheap too.

girl I would get up at 4 am if it meant that I could go to WDW !!!!:lmao:
tell Alec to please drive safely tomorrow!!!! I'll bet it will be a quiet day at the airport though!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the ideas. The dilemma that I have is, our school has 780 kids and 27 games each with 3 prize levels. That's A LOT of prizes. I am trying to keep it to a minimum. I love all the ideas, I am just not sure I want to spend as much. I found water bottles for 80 cents a piece...in quantities of 1000....I don't even really know how many I am suppose to buy of any one thing! Ahhhh!!!! I am at such a loss! I have just been jotting down my finds and I'll take them to the next meeting and see what others have to say.

Okay, I am calling it quits. This researching is giving me a headache. I just wish I knew how many I needed and what my budget is! We have another meeting on Monday. Maybe we can come up with an answer.

Have a good night everyone. Stay warm and safe in this wierd weather.

Hi Kristin!!!!!! we missed you! not much going on here, pretty quiet actually

Hello All, Sorry ya'll missed me last night, ;) but we were in the middle of all of the severe weather going through Tennessee last night. We were watching the weather instead. We. were spared the really bad stuff, but a lady I work with had 2 friends killed and she is without power and water. Power in her area won't be restored until late this weekend at best. If you happened to see on the news, the burning natural gas pumping station that exploded, that was about 20 miles north of us and very visible from my front yard. :scared: 74 degree days in February are NOT good, no matter how you slice it!

EFFECTIVE January 30 , 2008
NEW OFFICE POLICY

Dress Code:
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.
3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.
4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.
Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.
Bereavement Leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Bathroom Breaks:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders" category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break:
* Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.
* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.
Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.
Sincerely,
The Management
Pass this on to all who are employed and let them have a good laugh!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
