Looks like we will be booking our flights soon, using Airmiles LOL. Each ticket from Toronto to Orlando is 2200 points. We don't have enough but I searched further and you can do charity donations to top it off. For every $20 dollars you donate to Kids help phone you get 170 points. I think everyone wins.

Just found out from AirTran that my April flight has been changed and that we now have to go through Atlanta.. UGH!!!!!!!! Going to see if we can get DVC booked for the day before and the kids are going to have to miss another day of school oh yes, how happy is the school going to be at me. ???

Well, I would not think so but we pulled them out for seven days to go in late September. Bruce says to just call them out sick and not tell them then by the time we get back it will be too late. Hope has already missed 11 days of school seven for WDW and then the rest for being sick. She is a super student and it does not matter that way but I think after 12 you get a "nasty" letter saying that they missed and excessive amount....!!!!!!!!!!!!!What to do ???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes but for the cruise it will be a new school year? don't they start off at zero every year?

Yeah, they do start off at zero for next school year....!!!!!!!!!!
But this year she is already at 11.. DH says who cares it is Kindergarten and why should we have to connect flights, etc.. He wants to just go the day before and have a direct flight!!!!!!!!!!

i wouldn't worry about it too much Kristin, let them freak out if they want it's not like they can ban the girls from going to school because they were abscent too often! that's what I would do, enjoy the trip and don't even think about the school!!!!!!

Actually she usually flys out of White Plains as well. We live only a mile from each other but we prefer to fly out of Newark. Continental had some great rates $150 R/T so I booked before Christmas. They are not sure if they are going down a few days early or not so they have not booked yet.

Where we are located in NY White Plains is actually the closest...not too far over the Tappan Zee Bridge, but Newark and LaGuardia are not too bad to get to....JFK is our last resort as it can be such a hassle getting there with traffic. I usually look for the best fares out of White Plains, Newark or LaGuardia...since AirTran did not have their rates out yet before Christmas, and Continental had such good rates out of Newark I booked with Continental. When we go to London next week we are also flying out of Newark on Virgin Atlantic (nice airline)...I was really glad we did not have to fly out of JFK.

OMG...I can't believe this weird weather....it is now thundering and lightening out....is this January or June!!!!

I just checked with Air Miles and we can only book with Alamo or National but we wanted Budget because of how close they are to the Port. Ecomony car with Alamo is 250 points per day, I'm guessing the minivan should be about 400 points which isn't bad considering it's free LOL

We are driving from N.C. to Port Carnaval (with a Friday night pit stop in Jacksonville, Fla.). Would rather put the miles on a rental than on our SUV that already has 110,000 miles! Looking into using my American Airlines frequent flyer miles to rent (rarely fly these days). Has anyone been successful in doing this? Looks like just a couple of agencies let you burn your miles to rent...

And can someone tell me where to find those rental codes????

I have read on these boards alot that the schools in the States are sticklers about absents from school, we don't get questioned here, teachers usually ask that the kids keep a journal. Thankfully!!!
