I appreciate this, but It's alright. I talk to DD and she wants to stick to our original plan.

We did a Disney Cruise in Sept of 2006. We were placed at a table with another family of 5. It was very obvious that they did not want us there and they were very rude to us, especially to Merkie, the very first night. After that, Merkie refused to go back. We ate at Topsiders every night but the last night and pizza that night. Topsiders was actually great. It was the same group of people every night. There was a couple with a very small baby (maybe two or three months), a elderly couple, a family of four who could not get their children to sit through the long meals and then occasionally another group would wonder in and out. We were able to choose from various items being served in the formal restaurants. Once, the elderly couple asked for something being served at Lumiere's which wasn't listed on our menu, but the server went and got it for them. Topsider's was so much more relaxing. The volume of course was much lower. Everyone chatted together. We were like our own little group. They sat us all at tables by the windows and every night but one, we watched dolphins jump in and out of the ocean as we ate. Our meals lasted thirty to forty minutes as opposed to two hours. The wait staff were more like butlers. There were three every night serving just our little group. They literally stood just a few feet away and when we needed something it was there before we even had a chance to ask for it.

Long story short, I had promised Merkie that we would just plan on doing Topsiders this time. I have already requested a table for just DD and myself for Saturday and Friday since Topsiders won't be open on those days. They said that they would try. I promised Merkie that if they do not give us a table for two, we would just order room service or eat casually. She wants to stick to this plan.

I do appreciate you checking with your tablemates about adding us though.
This simply unacceptable and was very rude of that family. Unless you were into food fights or chewed with your mouths open I don't see where anyone deserves this kind of treatment. I would have showed up every night and done whatever I could to return the favor of making them feel like rejects.

What is wrong with ppl that they need to act like this?

NOt to defend them because there is no defense for that. But they likely asked for their own table and didn't get so they decided to punish you, like it your fault you got stuck there:rolleyes: If it were just me and Rich we might have foloowed Denis's advice and gone back just to spite them. But there's no need to subject a young child to that. That's just wrong.

Glad you had a good time at Topsiders though. Rich and I may try it during Semi-formal night if its open, or we just might do room service that night. We'll see.

Cruise Question:

Rich and I STILL cannot decide on a night for Palo(or if we'd rather have the brunch LOL). So I'm wondering just how soon we find out our dining rotation. Do we find out when we check in at the port? Or do we wait until we get to our rooms?

TY

Hey Nancy,,

Thanks,, for putting it up on the website.. Did not have to time yet this weekend to do it...

I'll be back later on tonight. Our friends are coming over around 2ish or so!!!!!!!

Maureen,

It's on a ticket on your dresser in your stateroom. When I tried to prebookon the 90 day out day, brunch was not available so I booked it on a sea day night so that there was no rush to get back on a port day.

I don't remember picking a beach? I'll have to go back and look at his site again!

Are you still talking about Godfrey? Yes, he gives you a choice of about four beaches. I forget which are the four, but we went to the one next to Coral World (was that Sapphire? I need my notes).

So which tour are you guys doing for Godfreys? 1 or 2??? I Originally asked for 2 but after reading the Coral world thing...I put tour 1 for 11am pickup. I think that is the one that i wanted :confused3 LOL

How is everyone doing today? Good i hope.

Oh my goodness, that was so rude of the other family...:sad2: I would have been upset as well. That is why I am sometimes very leary of sitting with other groups or with another family. Thankfully on our first cruise we got a pretty decent family sitting with us. I worry about this time but I think the good people usually outweigh the bad. We are sitting second/late seating for dinner...Anyone else on here second/late seating as well???

CRUISE QUESTION

When is the best time to log onto the website to book???? Should we log in right when it opens up or just before????

Log in when it opens up. If you log in before, you will have to re-login anyway once it opens up. That happened to me at the 90-day window and I freaked when it first told me I couldn't make reservations until I realized I had to re-login.

If you can convince your daughter to give it another try, I would. It's a pity that you had such rude table mates, but I'd like to believe it's the exception rather than the rule. Just curious, did you try asking for another table when you saw the situation the first night? I would, DCL can be very accommodating. We are traveling just the two of us and if I end up at a table with a family, I will immediately ask to be moved. That is a no win situation.

This simply unacceptable and was very rude of that family. Unless you were into food fights or chewed with your mouths open I don't see where anyone deserves this kind of treatment. I would have showed up every night and done whatever I could to return the favor of making them feel like rejects.

With all due respect, that unfortunately doesn't accomplish anything but to make everyone miserable. Adults can let something not affect them, but kids are different. As I said in the previous post, the best thing to do is ask to be moved to another table. If one is not available, the only choice is the one taken, to eat at Topsiders. Why let some idiots make your hard vacation miserable?
