Cruise announcement!

Okay! I am so excited I have to share it with my DIS Friends!

We have been looking at rates, and school breaks, budget so we would be all prepared to "rebook" onboard on our awesome Parrothead cruise.

Well in talking to our TA, we figured out that even with the 10% off and the 200 credit we would come out cheaper if we booked it NOW before we board due to the TA's group rates.

so....
WE ARE DOING IT AGAIN ON OCT 10, 2009!

It is the special sailing to St. Croix!

Wahoo!! :yay: :yay:

Maybe some of you will have such a great time on this Oct cruise you'll join us! :flower3:

Oh Nita!!! How wonderful!!! Or is that MAGICal! LOL Congrats! I so wish we could go in October again, it's our favorite time to travel, but Colton will be in 9th grade and Connor in 7th then. I am not so sure it would be a good idea to pull the boys out at that point. I can't even fathom the work load that Colton would miss! I know Heidi, I can hear you all the way across the country, but homeschooling just isn't our thing. I was actually looking at another cruise line for spring break of 2009, just to try another line. We will rebook on DCL, but then I am not sure when we will take that cruise. It probably won't be until 2010. Between school, football and work, who knows!!!!

Michele: I can work on those signs like that if you like...I will work on them and have them by the weekend...

Add one more to the FE Exchange ;) I dont mind. I can make up one more (Some gifts may be a little different but still just as good) :goodvibes I would hate to be the one to leave anyone out  But I am with everyone else...We have to stop somewhere :rolleyes1 LOL

Where we are taking Chris isnt a childs hospital but its a GREAT hospital that is here. We have been talking to the Pediactric dentist who is doing the work, and he says that he uses them all of the time and that they are great. We are the first appointment of the day...so we gotta be there at 5am  So no late night here for me :sad2: But I will check in tomorrow after everything is all done to say hi and let everyone know how it went :lovestruc

Thanks Shauna!!!! I really appreciate it!!!!!!!! I'll be sending prayers and pixiedust for all of you tomorrow!!!!

we actually did that two years ago. Took a 5 day spring break cruise on another line. Celebrity Cruise Lines to be exact. It was a disaster! It was wall to wall college students, the whole ship seemed to be drunk, broken glass by the pool, etc. And this was Celebrity...a supposed upscale line. We swore we would never sail spring break again unless it was Disney. I

Don't mean to scare you. Maybe if it was a 7 nighter it would be very different. I imagine it would be! This 5 day one out of Miami was a non-stop party.

I am going to home school my daughter (who will be in 4th grade at the time)for the duration of the cruise. That is what the principal suggested. And for her to keep a journal, do some work, etc.

9th grade would be very tough though. I agree I prob wouldn't pull out a child that age. Even 4th grade is "pushing it."

Hello Again everyone.

Merkie and I have had a wonderful evening. We have played the Wii for the last hour. We did manage to make a few signs that are possibilities for the cruise. I found one that was a pink Mickey head with a crown and it said "I am celebrating my birthday. Feel free to treat me like a princess." Then I put her name in the middle of the Mickey head. She loves it. Her birthday isn't until Nov. 15th, but this cruise is what she wanted instead of having a party or getting gifts, so we are going to celebrate it like it's her birthday.

As for adding for FEgifts, that's fine with me, especially for fellow Kentuckian. Seriously, I have looked around for some ideas, but I haven't purchased anything yet. No problem with me adding.

Shauna, incase I don't make it back on tonight, I will definitely be praying for you and Chris tomorrow. I'm sure you'll have more important things on your mind, but as soon as you get a free minute, let us all know how it goes.

WOW!! I concider myself forewarned, but not scared off. It didn't even cross my mind to think that college kids would take over!! Maybe I better rethink when we go!!! Thanks for the headsup!!!

we have cruised in Dec 04, Oct 06 and now Oct 08. The boys were in 2nd and 4th, 4th and 6th and now it will be 6th and 8th. I think this year will be the hardest....although, when Colton was in 6th, his teachers were really pretty easy on him. Connor actually had more work! Colton had some work, a book to read and had to do a report on the Mayan Ruins that we went to see. That was it! I can only hope this year would be that easy too!

Add me to the sentiment as well! I haven't really started my gifts yet, so adding one more is no big deal to me. However, Shauna is done I think, so that might make a difference to her.

how is everyone tonight? As I look out at blue skies and sunshine wondering why practice was canceled? unless the field is a muddy mess? But the boys would have LOVED that!

trying to catch up on wash and watching the Indians play Tampa Bay, wishing I was in Tampa Bay.....

I haven't really started putting my gifts together yet either, just coming with ideas of things to get. One more won't hurt me either.

My son is going to the baseball game tomorrow with his summer camp. The weather is quite nice tonight. :)

Hope everyone is doing well tonight. Can't stay on long-just checking the threads for my various requests for door designs, name badges, t shirt designs etc. My boys are taking advantage of the fact I'm on the computer. They are supposed to be in bed, but I hear all of the talking. I guess I need to go and crack the whip.

Thank you Gail and Michele....I will be sure to post tomorrow sometime to let you all know how it went :goodvibes Im not sure at what time I will be able to post but I will post tomorrow sometime

Michele- I have a few ideas for the Pirate night that I will work on after tomorrow :thumbsup2 I will post the multiple ones that I do for you when I finish, Shouldnt take me long once I start working on them :rolleyes1

Don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm. We didn't go through a TA for our ill fated Celebrity cruise. Prob a well informed TA would have steered us better for an appropriate Spring Break Cruise. Maybe Princess?

We are actually already booked for the double dip cruise for November 2009 (the week before Thanksgiving). I will be rebooking on the cruise again. Not looking forward to see the new fuel charge added to the bill.

Oh just go ahead and rub it in! :rotfl: I did see some storms on the weather map, but they are south of Tampa. Looks like Shauna might get them!

Yea he is having Root Canals and Crowns done :scared: And has to be put under anesthesia so that they can get it all done at once and not have to do it again  They say that its an easy process and that he will be back to normal right after...but it is his first time going in and under so of course I have to worry...I am sure I would worry even if it was the millionth time he had went in  We are first appointment of the day so we have to get up at 5am :scared1: But at least it will be done and over with before noon so that is good :thumbsup2 We are so scared for him but he doesnt know he is going in and I am hoping that he is so half asleep when we take him in, that he doesnt remember anything :rolleyes1

Shauna-

I'll be thinking about you guys tomorrow. Thank God I've never had to put the boys under at the dentist. With Michael, we found out he has soft teeth. At 2 he was complaining his teeth were hurting. I took him the dentist and found out he already had 6 cavities. They say he is prone to it with the soft teeth. His teeth are so tight together that all the cavities were in between. They were able to take care of it all in 2 visits using nitrous oxide to relax him. Keep us posted

You are so talented! I just can't figure out how to do them....either that or I just don't have the right program!

Sorry...:rotfl: We do get the thunderstorms in the afternoon this time of year. I can't complain about the weather. Just wish I could see the change in the seasons and something else instead of flat land. Our mountain is our landfill. :rotfl:

Oh believe me Michele, I know that homeschooling is not for everyone! :) It works for us, and many others I know, but hey, if everyone homeschooled then we wouldnt get the quieter times to travel like we do now. :)

9th grade... hmmm... for ... 5 or 6 days? Depends on the teachers I imagine. Back in my school days, they would have sent me off with their blessing and request to write a paper or keep a journal or something. Of course that was back in the 70's.... (yes, I AM that old!)

We are planning another cruise as well, but probably not for a few years. Considering doing a faux booking (or whatever you call it!) and maybe doing something fun for just the 2 of us someday, depending on how Sean is doing in the future!

He and Brian came home today instead of tomorrow, as Sean woke up with a horribly swollen eyelid... I mean, he could NOT see out of it it was so swollen! Better this evening, but we shall see how it is in the morning. Might be taking a trip to the pediatrician....

I did find a Pirate Night one on Kristin's Door Magnet thread that someone else had requested. I don't remember the thread. I'll look for it and see what you guys think. I don't have a photobucket or shared account where I can download too, so I'll reference the thread and post #.

Well, dag nabbit! the satelitte dish is out! Can't figure out why since we don't have any storms in the area. Figures, just when the game was getting good!!!!

Judy- I think that may be what Christopher has, Cause his teeth are VERY close together (the dentist said that he has my hubby's familys teeth (very prone to cavities and bad teeth) but my mouth (very crowded teeth) I had to have 8 teeth pulled before getting my braces and you would never know now if you see my mouth because I still have a ton of teeth LOL :lmao: But yea he has bottle teeth cause he used to nurse at night..but thanks everyone for the warm wishes :goodvibes :goodvibes they are much appreciated

You are so talented! I just can't figure out how to do them....either that or I just don't have the right program!
I just use Photoshop Elements to do my stuff...I am still learning but Its the only program that I have to work with :rolleyes1

Looks like Shauna might get them!
YIKES not more bad weather and storms  Oh what fun its going to be...There is already flooding in some parts around here (like it always floods when it rains in certain spots) :sad2:

Well i am off for now...Sorry to cut out so early (compaired to what I normally do) but I need to get some rest and get us all to bed early. I will check in with you all tomorrow
