Good Morning everyone!


I'm working from the house today, so I'll try to pop in from time to time. I will have to run out for a little bit today to pay some bills and do some errands. You guys want to hear something funny, or not so funny for me? I've been so busy and have used all my extra time to find pirate costumes and FE and FE gifts, print signs and iron-on transfers, order stateroom gifts, making packing lists, and searching for dresses. Do you know what I forgot to do? PAY MY BILLS!!!!!! In yesterdays mail was a disconnect notice on my telephone. It says I have five days to pay or they will disconnect my phone Monday. Suddenly I realized that I had not paid any of my household or credit card bills. Everyone of them is late. I sat and made them out last night and I have to pay almost two hundred dollars in late fees. I bet I don't do this again! This cruise has taken over my life!

Just worked out and guess what I got the golden piggy bank on the WII!!!!! It is so cute...Ok, sorry had to share...


My throat is still kill'in me... Off to take the kids to the park in a bit to meet some friends!!!!!!!!!!!

We are and have been watching the Olympics here...I hope they put them out on DVD because everynight Chris is always asking to watch the swimming or gymnastics...he likes them all though and sits there humming watching them (he humms when he gets really excited and that is how we always know when he really likes something).

That is too funny! Sean buzzes when he is happy... I can NOT for the life of me duplicate it, but it is a buzzing noise and it drives some people crazy. I love it though, because it means all is well in his world. He stopped buzzing there for a few really rough years, so when he started back up again my heart just leaped with joy.... tears....

as for your sister, what a treasure she must be to your heart!

I havnt seen the show, but I have to say, having a child like Sean in my life, and my other boys, and knowing as many families as I do with special kids AND typical kids... would not trade a single one of them. they each are such incredible gifts... truly...

In our case, yes, Sean has been through a lot. And our family has too... and it has been worth every single moment. Just wait till you meet him! Honest... He will enchant you, delight you, scare you, and make you want to eat him up and take him home with you! LOL!

A little late into the conversation, but...My DD6 Megan has Down syndrome. It's so nice to read about the acceptance and understanding this group has!

Thank you Shauna and Michele for your kind comments. Michele, when my Mom first had a simple conversation over the phone with Megan, she told me she had to hold back the tears, so I know what you mean! And Heidi, I'm right there with you on the gift we've received. it's difficult sometimes, but at night, everything seems to be put into prospective, esp. when Megan chooses me to cuddle with instead of her favorite--Dad!

Shauna, our DD4 Rachel will definitely stand up for Megan as they get older, she is a pistol...and my oldest DD12 Erin for years has been standing up for a good friend who has Down syndrome, even before Megan was born! The two friends have both learned a lot from each other and taught other kids their age about tolerance and how everyone is different in some way.

Hello again! I'm back and bills are all paid in full. Just can't believe I did that. Hopefully, everyone is having a wonderful day.

I found t-shirts for $5.00 each at Walmart and the seem to be pretty good quality. They were out of magnetic paper and I still have a few signs to print. Guess I'll try to find some on line here. I'm almost done with precruise preparation. I do still need to get the FE gifts and a few clothing items. I'm getting so excited!!!!!!!

A little late into the conversation, but...My DD6 Megan has Down syndrome. It's so nice to read about the acceptance and understanding this group has!

I have a neice who is Down Syndrome. She is eighteen now. My parents have six grandchildren and everyone agrees that Kayla is everyone's favorite. She will graduate from high school this year and has far exceeded everyone's expectations for what she has learned. We were fortunate enough that my brother has always lived in a small town with small schools that some how managed to avoid the trend of consolidation. She has been mainstreamed in the regular classroom all through school and still today in high school those kids are all very protective of Kayla. The school has even allowed her to be on the cheer squad all these years. She isn't able to really participate alot because she can't flip, or climb, etc., but they always work her in where they can. She does mostly the pregame cheers. She is satisfied just getting to dress. Last year the captain of the basketball team broke up with his girlfriend just before the prom and he took Kayla as his date. Now you won't see that very often. My brother and sister-in-law actually took her and stayed there the whole time. Almost everyone took a turn dancing with her. She had such a wonderful time. I realize that this is not the normal experience for special needs children, but it should be!

Hey guys, we have reservations for the Thurs and Fri before the cruise at Radisson at the Port. I just tried to add Wed so that we can be there for the Shuttle Lauch that day. They said that they have no availability for the Wed before the cruise. Our last Disney cruise was in Sept. I added an extra night just a few days before we left.

I did find magnetic paper for $7.99 for a pack of 5. That's about what Walmart charged. I ordered some other things I needed to get my order high enough for free shipping.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a busy day! We ran all kinds of errands and had breakfast at McD's. Not the best, I know, but we were running a bit ahead of schedule and had to wait for 2 stores to open at 10! LOL Just waiting for the groomer to call and say our pups are ready to be picked up, then have to go to meet Steve's Charter Bus at about 6. I am going to stop at Staples on the way out to see about magnetic paper. Our Walmart just doesn't carry it! At least, there was no place marker on the shelving for it. Then we'll go to dinner and maybe order Colton's glasses. Depends on whether we eat near the mall or not. I might do that in the morning.

Gail, I am so sorry you forgot about the bills! Really, that's sort of funny!!! Sorry.... You HAVE remembered to pay off the cruise though, right? Did you try Country Inns next door? Pinkies, RanCan and Big Red are staying there before the cruise. Since it's close to the Radisson, you could A)Transfer your ressie and stay there the whole time, or B) just stay there Weds night and then move to the Radisson. Although, it sounds like the party will be at CIS!

Wow! No, you do not see that experience very often, unfortunately. Megan is being mainstreamed this year for the first time in public school (repeating kindergarten). She was mainstreamed in private preschool and one girl in her class was at the preschool with her, so that helps.

The school system is mainstreaming all special ed kids that behaviorly can handle the reg. classroom. She is pulled out still for hardcore work...the ideal situation would be to have a special ed teacher is EVERY classroom so the kids can stay there, but unfortunately, that's in an ideal world!

It makes my heart feel good when I read about stories like yours, that the world just might be changing after all!

I didn't get around to ironing my shirts though, but I'll waiat until the boys go to bed and do that while I watch the olympics!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Gina how exciting for you that you're leaving AGAIN for WDW!!!!!! I'm jealous!!!! LOL have fun packing

Michele, it's weird that your Walmart does not carry the magnetic paper????? did you ask? Ours is in the craft section close to the scrapbooking stuff!!! BUT our iron on paper is in the office supply section? I don't know why they just don't put those 2 sections together? Oh well...

I looked through both sections. It did seem wierd that they didn't have it. It's no big deal since we have to pass Staples on the way to meet Steve. Plus there is an array of dining establishments with in proximity too!
