if you are traveling in Oct how far ahead have you booked? Or are you waiting? thanks

Still waiting here. My only choices for direct flights are Delta and Southwest. Delta fares are still higher than I would like, and of course Southwest fares are not out yet.

I ahve been watching rates for a while now. I booked because I wanted to be able to make sure the six of us could get the same price. A bit higher than I wanted, but I have one less thing to worry about now.

Nope, I've almost got enough miles for a free ticket (flying on Alaska). I'm going to book my airfare when I have enough frequent flyer miles. :sunny:

I'm still waiting. I was originally going to use ATA but, I got spooked because of all the probelms. I'm anxiously awaiting for Southwest to come out with their schedule. I'm also considering Northwest but, I'm not happy with their flight times.

My airfare was booked 2 months ago. Glad I did it too. the rates arent much lower now and they are supposed to go higher due to the gas prices skyrocketing. I think that it why some people have been noticing the rates for some airlines going through the roof. :)

We booked through Song out of JFK. I couldn't beat the price (540.00/family of 4) and figured it wouldn't get much better than that.

I haven't booked yet.
We wanted to take a commuter flight to a major airport since we are hours from a larger airport.
Last year we got roundtrip on United for around $210 pp.
This year I can't find anything under $400 pp. If I want to leave in the am then I have to pay a lot more.

I still have time, I hope, but if I can't find a reasonable price to fly we won't be going this year.

I wish we lived closer to a major city.

I wish that was my price. Mine was $1013 for a family of four. :(

Nope, haven't booked yet. BUT, I haven't booked for my July trip, my September trip or my October trip. I have booked my May trip. Waiting for Independence to have a sale soon. They just openned up their dates for June to August. I had a great fare for September, but one of our party couldn't make up their mind and the next day we lost it. I did get a great price for May. Independence $116 roundtrip out of Wash. to MCO nonstop. I have booked up to 2 weeks before leaving. Normally we are a party of 2, but in September we are a party of 9.

Goofydad,

I heard somewhere on here that some airlines give you the price adjustment through a voucher...sometimes there is a fee (I saw $24 for Delta) so you may be able to get the lower price? I am not an expert at flying & pricing but just a thought.

We are going 10/7-10/17, out of JFK. I figured that price heeded some quick action, but I notice that the prices haven't changed. I'm just glad it's one thing I got a great deal on, now I'm hoping to cut other costs! When's everyone else going? Hope to see you there!

We booked-$135. on Song. The price now is $155. I would not be surprised if it goes back down..

I haven't booked yet, I'm waiting for NYC to release the calander for next school year.

I'm hoping to go October 2-5, that way my son will only miss one day of school.

So far Song has flights for $59.00 each way per person out of LGA. We can fly out of JFK for $79.00.

Now if I can just find a good price for our flight back next month. :confused3

I haven't yet - I'm waiting for better rates to come out. I went a couple of years ago (also in October) and bought the tickets this early in the year not only did the flight time change a couple of times but the price had also gone down for the new tickets. We were really bummed to find out that we had paid more than any of the other visitors.

Goofydad------What airport are you flying out of??? I guess you must be close to Kentucky because of the girl scout emblem. I can fly about $300 cheaper than that out of Indianapolis. I realize you've already booked so it doesn't really matter. I'm just curious.

I'm in Indianapolis too.

We've been blessed enough to visit WDW each year since 2000. We'd planned to make our annual October trek back this year but DH said we should skip 2005 and go back 2006. Yes, he has gone mad. :crazy2:

Anyway ..... my DD has 3 days off of school in October and I just can't bear to not spend those days in WDW and go to MNSSHP!

I'm crunching numbers and hoping to convince DH to go this year. I was looking at flights on expedia and there is a Delta flight (connects in Cincy) that's only $500 for the three of us and the times are perfect.
We usually fly ATA but the flight schedule has changed so much (I know they cut back on alot of their flights because of their financial troubles) and the flight we would book is so expensive.
I've never booked a flight on expedia before ..... my biggest concern is - [do you get to pick your seat assignment in advance? I'd hate if DH, DD and I couldn't sit together ..... especially since I am a nervous flyer! :worried:

We already booked and pai for ressies but as well as everyone else are waiting for SW to release the Sep rates as we are going Sep 30-Oct 5

What dates are you looking for on ATA?? When I ran mine it was only $79 each way. I had a hard time thinking about if I should take it or not. The times are great for me early departure from Indy and late afternoon return from Orlando. I'm just to afraid to use them beacause of the troubles. My parents are really againist a lay-over. I'm now waiting on Southwest to hurry up. I guess I could always try and fall back on ATA.

We would fly out of Indy on Wed 10/26 and return on Sun 10/30.
ATA's website is only showing one flight available each way. The flight down is $99/person but the flight back home is $304/person. (If we were to fly home on Mon 10/31 then the fare drops to $99/person).
