Hello all... I know this question has probably been asked, but i can not seem to find it.

But we are going Oct. 11 - 18. What are the crowds and the weather like? I'm assuming the weather should be pretty good, 80's?

Thanks!:Pinkbounc

The weather should be great but you should still pack a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt just in case.

As for crowds, it's always been very, very UNcrowded when we've gone but given the great prices Disney has been offering, I suspect that the parks and resorts are going to be quite busy.

We will be there from Oct. 17-Nov. 1. We had made our plans before the big Disney Special, but was happy to hear that we could get a better rate because of it. We were also saddened because we knew a lot of people would be there during that time.

Dont worry, There is always pockets of air LOL.

If one park seems crowded when you get to it, then just hop a bus to another park, odds are that it will be less crowded.

If you are not going to early entry, then make sure you find out what days early entry is at each park at the time you are going, that way you can skip that park and save it for another non early entry day.

If you are going to early entry, go, then in mid morning when the park starts filling up, skip on over to another park.

This will be our 4th October Disney trip.

This may sound terrible ... but pray for a small hurricane.
Although it rains some, the parks are almost empty, the locals dont come. I know that just sounds terrible and a lot of people dont like the rain, but wear those attractive yellow ponchos everyone else has on and enjoy...most of the rides are inside anyway LOL. On our first trip to Disney together, my husband and I went when there was a terrible Hurricane, I cant remember which one, anyway I have pictures take from the train station to the castle where you can count the people in them. We kept running into the same couples over and over, and we rode most of the rides over and over because there were no lines so they just let us stay on.

Well that is my little October Disney story, thought I would share it LOL.

Anyway October is great, not to hot and not to cold, still hot enough to go swimming but not so hot that you feel you are going to kill the person beside you in line if they wont stop their kid from whinning LOL.

My son now 4 is so excited about this trip and since he has no time concept, it is hard to explain to him that we really are going. We have been planning for almost a year now, so he is now at the place where he either thinks we are making the whole thing up, or that October is a month so far away that it will never come LOL.

Enjoy your trip, even if there is a ton of people there. Remember you are there to have fun and if you miss one or two rides it is not the end of the world, it is the experiences that you will get and the memories that you and your kids will get years from now that will stick with you.....

Well the Florida weather is always unpredictable, I have been there in October quite a few times and it's ranged from really chilly w/cold rains to 85 degrees everyday! So try to pack a little of both, but keep checking the weather prior to leaving and you will get a small sense of what it will be like when you are there.

The crowds have gotten larger and larger each year we go, I would expect it to be very crowded this year due to FTP, but that is not going to discourage us from attending this year! I don't believe it will be overwhelming, but definitely will be crowded. You'll have fun no matter what, it's Disney, make your own magic!

I just posted on the March thread so this may seem weird, but mid-late Oct. is our favorite time. Even tho we used to go mid-March a lot, Oct is very comparable in weather & attendance.

When we went mid-Oct a few years ago we literally walked up & on Space Mt. & could do it all over again when we got off. I think the longest we ever waited in any park that trip was like 20-25 min.
When we went right after 9-11 we thought it would be even lower attendance, but boy were we wrong. It wasn't 'crazy' busy, but definitely got a lot of use from the fast passes.

The weather has always been very nice for us. Barely any rain & not cool except @ night.

We're going again this Oct. Hope it's the attendance will be down again & the weather beautiful.

I wouldn't count on the attendance being lower, count on it being higher. Judging by these boards alone there are more people going at the end of October than I can remember and if you're going around Halloween (which we are) it falls on a Friday night so a lot of people probably booked that week with the FTP. The main thing is this with the crowds in October, it will NEVER be like July ;)

The weather is a different story, I am going to predict that it will be sunny and 78 degrees EVERY DAY! :Pinkbounc

It rains in Florida almost every day all summer through November. Remember, hurricane season is June 1 - November 1. But passing showers are very short-lived and everything dries up quickly. Pack a poncho - they fold up easily.
