Hi Everyone!

My family and I just booked our cruise on the Dream! :cool1: We'll be sailing with you all on October 30th. It will be DH & Me, along with our 2 kids DS (8) and DD (6).
This will be our first cruise with the kids. We've been talking it up their whole lives as my husband and I have been on 4 Disney Cruises (pre-children) with our first sailing in 1999 on the Magic for our Honeymoon.
We look forward to getting to know everyone!

Best Wises~
Brenna :)
Hi Brenna! Welcome to the DIS and the cruise. I will be there with my DH and my 2 DDs (8 and 5) plus my in-laws and nieces (7, 5, and 1) and and a young cousin (9) so there will be lots of kids there. Yay!

I am getting ready to leave town for the first time in 7 months. :cool1: Not going very far, just a girls weekend in a small town about 45 minutes south of us. But we are taking the train and staying in a nice hotel, getting massages, and eating out. I get my own room and own bed (no DH, kids, or dogs for a whole night!). Even though it's supposed to snow, I am looking forward to it. It's no cruise, but it will start the vacation season out right. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Sarah

Happy friday everyone,

anyone have plans for the weekend??
No big plans here. Just getting groceries and doing housework.

Denise hope you can get some relaxation this weekend.:goodvibes

Back when i can, my stupid internet is acting up again. It took me 20 minutes to get on here to post today:sad2:

Kathy

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the warm welome.
Kathy, I'll PM you our info today, my husband thought the FE sounds like a cute idea.

Denise, I've been to Oswego many times! We're in Midlothian, IL which is a southern suburbs of Chicago.

Dreams83 we're not too far from St. Louis In fact one of our family trips in the past few years was to St. Louis. We LOVE Fitz's Diner and root beer. My kids still ask when we're going back. We also had a blast letterboxing thru Frorest park!

So happy to hear that their will be lot's of munchkins around the same ages as my kids. DS will be 8 in May and DD 6 in June. They're really excited with the idea of the kids club, but I think they'll feel pretty overwhelmed one we arrive. I think it will realy help them be at ease to know some kids names ahead of time.

Can't wait for October!

Have a great weekend!

OK experienced cruisers. Now that we are almost 6 months away, I've started to plan clothes. (Hey, it's never too soon to start :lmao:) I found the cutest, fancy dress for DD7 and am hoping she'll be able to wear it to dinner. I am having a hard time figuring out what our dinner-wear nights are going to be, though. The first night I understand to be cruise-casual (no shorts or tank tops, think skirts and casual sundresses), right? The next night is Halloween, so should I plan on the girls wearing their costumes to dinner? (They will probably be some sort of princesses.) Then will the third night be pirate night? We are not planning on full pirate regalia, most likely pirate t-shirts and shorts or skirts. Should we be wearing those things to dinner, or will it be a dressy dinner and change into pirate clothes after (we have the main dining)? Then the last night is cruise casual again, yes? So, is there anywhere in there she can wear a sparkly fancy dress?

I was wondering the same thing. I always have a hard time packing light for cruises, but this time DH and I have vowed to do so! I was planning on dressing the kids up for the Pirate Party, but not sure if we'll do Halloween costumes too. It depends on if their picks are "packable"

As for Fancy Dresses. Is the first night's show, the Golden Mickey's? Maybe she could wear her fancy dress for that and hopefully score some pictures with the fab 5 in their golden garb.

I know where midlothian is....I actually grew up in chicago around midway airport. I have a niece that lives in Posen...some of my cousins grew up in midlothian....so been there a few times over the years:thumbsup2

I am so happy that someone else started talking about clothes and packing, Shell (woogirl) always tells me I'm obsessive about packing so at least I didnt start this conversation!!

nothing else here....just glad its friday....:yay:
just found out tonite that meeting up with my sisters and cousins tomorrow night...should be a fun eveing...

People laugh at me cause i am picking things up for the cruise already. lol Tomorrow I am going to the movies with my sister and her kids. Should be fun.

I'm already thinking clothes, too! I will be appliqueing t-shirts for the girls, one with a mickey ears pumpkin and ghost. I found the designs on etsy and have purchased a long sleeve white and a short sleeve black t-shirts to do them on. I can't wait for them to see them!

I will probably cheat and use their pirate night dresses from last month, they were so cute! They might be able to wear a few other outfits again, too!

I'm thinking Tiana or Tinkerbell for Halloween, but we will have to wait and see what they decide.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I started my packing list months ago...those who know me, know it takes me months just to figure out my shoes:rolleyes1

from what I have read, the only "suggested" formal night is the night you dine in Royal Palace, so that would be the night to sparkle.

We always wear our Pirate outfits to dinner, it just adds to the fun of the night.

I am for sure not going super fancy this trip. I will wear a nice dress to Palo but other than that I will be cruise casual. I'll be in sundress and my DH will be in khakis and polos.

Its not the buying of thiings...I have been doing that now also....its the packing...I am a overpacker...even if I know I will only wear certain outfits, I pack extra "just in case"...:confused3 but I have been shopping already...and bought a "few" things....:thumbsup2

Not sure how many this year, but I'm not holding back like the last cruise. Thank goodness SW doesn't charge for extra luggage.

Before we sold our last house I had part of the master bedrooms closet with cruise clothes only. So I just took them off hangers and put in the suitcase. 2 minutes and clothes were packed.:thumbsup2

Still watching it rain here:sad2:

Kathy

Hey Kathy, I think we have your rain. It started raining here yesterday afternoon and is still raining.

I now try to keep the packing simple. I learned after the first couple of cruises that we don't wear all of the clothes we pack.

FE question -

Those of us doing B2B are just giving to each other ONCE. (not once each cruise).

On the most recent FE list there were 30 cabins for the first half and 2 cabins for the second half, right? (so far)

I'm trying to figure out if I need to plan out 1 FE gift or 2 (so people don't get the same gift twice if we're giving on both halves of the cruise which I dont' think we are).

I'm so confused :headache:

Happy sunday everyone,
cold and cloudy here today but no rain for the moment which is nice.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Just bumping us off page 2:yay:

Unless you sign up for the FE for both cruises and are on both lists you are not obligated to give on the 2nd one. So far a couple of families on the 2nd cruise want to and by cruise time others on the 2nd cruise may wish to join them for their own FE. As more people join the thread I'm sure their list will grow.
