It's a bit chilly in the Orlando area this morning...45 when we left our house to go to church. It is sunny, but colder than our average here. I know, nothing like my friends up north are dealing with, but it's cold for us Floridians! Being from the midwest, living in Florida for 15 years...the blood thins!

We are just enjoying time around the house until the start of the Packer game at 3pm eastern. Too bad we have to leave our house at 5pm to drive to Tampa. We have tickets for the 3 of us to see Beauty and the Beast in the Broadway Across America series. It's the last night in Tampa on the tour, and DD is off school tomorrow. I just wish I had the forward thinking to buy tickets for a different night...I am hoping my boys will have a decent lead as we drive to Tampa so I can listen on the radio and not feel the need to throw things at something.

Go Pack Go!

I changed this cruise from 10/30 only ======> to B2B!!!!!!

This will be our first B2B and my 9th and 10th cruises, now for our extended family cruise in 2012 I will be Platinum CC.

After looking at our DVC points, I banked a whole bunch last month, I decided it was a good use to just book the 3 day as well, and we even have the same room, so no need to pack. DVC was able to link the two ressies with DCL, very sweet of the CM.

PJ

What great news! We look forward to seeing you again!

Well my team lost last week so I dont care who wins this week.
its actually more enjoyable to not have to worry about who will win. Its easier that way, unless my team is head 35 to 0 :lmao:

Game is back on after half time so gotta go,

Kathy

Morning all,

Hope everyone is off to a good start this week.

Cool and dry here.

Hope everyone is staying warm if you live in those bitter cold states.

Hello from the Williams Family!!! This will be our kids first cruise and my wife and my first cruise with Disney (twice on Carnival). I guess we couldn't have picked a better year to do this with the beautiful new ship The Dream. We are so excited to say the least. We haven't even told the kids yet but we keep playing the "we might go on the cruise" game and they are very excited.

We are Me (dad the planner), DW, DS (12), DS (11), and DD (11) twins. I'm super pumped we'll get to celebrate Halloween on the Dream as it's always been one of my families favorite fun holidays. My daughter thinks it's so cool people decorate the door and she's obsessed with the FE's but I'm trying to calm her on that because it makes me a little nervous. This group seems huge on here and I'd have no idea how many families would be involved with the FE's and how much time it would take to do it.

Anyway, I'll be checking back regularly. I already have our flights booked, we'll be renting a car from MCO the day before and staying at the Four Points Sheraton before the cruise and then when we come back we'll rent a car and drive to OKW and stay a night on our points. We're surprising the kids with a day at IOA Universal as my wife is a huge Harry Potter fan and we were just at WDW last Thanksgiving for 11 days (taken many, many trips before).

Sorry to ramble but I am very excited for the trip and looking forward to learning all about Disney cruising and THE DREAM!!!

welcome !!!

Hey how about a first name for you guys?:goodvibes
Happy to have another family along.

Even if alot of people do the FE it doesnt have to take you a lot of time to prepare for it unless your making something home made
.
Many just buy candies or Disney themed psot cards or order pens or pencils with the name of the cruise or group on it or crazys straws, just anything thing. It doesnt have to be complicated. If your a busy family just buy a couple basg of halloween candy and just put one piece for each person in the cabin, you cant get much easier than that:thumbsup2

Some years I have made homemade things other times just bought goodies ot share. There is no right or wrong and its not meant to be expensive for people. Its so worth doing especially with kids. They are so excited to check the FE each time you return to the room to see whats in it.

Oh by the way I am Kathy and DH is Greg, this is #21 DCL cruise for us , plus one Carnival cruise.

Hope you post often,
Kathy

Someone fill me in on how the FEs work exactly, please. I get that you put inexpensive treasures in them and they hang on the fish outside the stateroom door. How often do you put something in them, though?

Hey I have a cat. 09A gty room for this cruise. How soon do they give you your room assignments? Who else has any category gty room? And what should I expect fire those who have bored them before? I really just want the room number for FE purposes but I am sure I will have it before we set sail so we will all know.

Thanks for the warm welcome Kathy. We are me Dave, DW Julie, DS12 Jaxson, DS11 Peyton, and DD11 Paige.

And thanks for all the great information on the FE. So the post below says you do it just once for each family on the trip is that correct? And when would we find out who and how many will be doing the FE's? The more I read about it the more I'm starting to get excited.

I don't have a guarantee for this cruise but I did for our last and i think we found out around 30 days prior.
