I booked the b-2-b cruise based on the assumption that the kids would have off Monday and Tuesday of that week for in service days. That's how it has been the last couple of years. What I failed to realize is that Monday is NOT Nov. 1. Now, I am not sure if that means it will stay those days or if it is indeed the FOLLOWING Monday and Tuesday they will have off next year. If that happens, we will probably have to shift our b-2-b to the next week, so we'd be with you all for the three day but then stay on the for the following four days. Waiting for the school calendar to be published....

Oh No!!!! :sad1: If that's the case, we won't get to meet you and your family.

I did it. I changed my dining time... Hopefully it works out ok to have the 7pm show and the late dinner... I don't know if the kids will be alright with that or not, but we are going to try it anyway. :confused3 If nothing else, we will feed the kids early and someone will just go sit in their room while they sleep.

Last Feast meeting of the year tonight!:cheer2: I'm ready to not think about it for a couple months. Only the Thank You Dinner is left and then that's it for the year. :woohoo: Hopefully I get out of this meeting before 10pm tonight! This is the longest meeting we have all year as everyone shows up and everyone has to report on their area. With 20 - 30 people, that can take forever. :scared:

Anyway, Hope things work out for you Jeff and hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday!

Morning all,

The only bad thing for a 5 p.m. show is when we pull out ,I love to watch us go out the channel and out to sea. If you have a 5 p.m. show you will miss some of the Adventures away party or just enjoying pulling out. Same thing with port days. If you want to spend all day off ship you will need to be sure and be back by 5 for the show if you want to see that too. 3 and 4 day cruises it wont be so bad but on 7 day cruises you often have a late all aboard time. Then you need to decide which activity to do, stay on shore longer or get back in time for the 5 p.m. show.:confused3
Kathy

Hi Kathy! I agree...I really like the 7/8:30 time especially for a short cruise.

Oh no! Strange your dining time isn't on your reservation:confused3

Not sure about your kids but on our last cruise my dd's were 5 & 7 they spent the most time in the clubs at night. They would order room service around 5:00, then we would get ready get pictures, go to the show and then dinner at 8:30. They use to order a "bed snack" and at 9:00 a camp CM would pick them up in the resturant and bring them to the club. We would finish our dinner, spend sometime visiting some of the adult activites onboard and then pick them up 11:30...some nights they would ask to stay even later! I was shocked because my dd's go to bed at 8:00 at home!:goodvibes

:cool1: Neat pic's!

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hi Everyone! Today is my DD's 7th birthday. NExt year we will be celebrating on the Dream, then at Epcot. :cool1:

I am having nightmares now about the dining. :scared1: I booked everything through my TA so I don't know what we are set up for. Is there an automatic default time? With the kids being 2-9, it seems like the early dining time would be better, but I don't think I want the 5:00 show. Are we going to want to see all the shows? On a 4-day cruise, how do I even start to prioritize?

Halloween party?
Movies?
Show?
Karaoke?
Adult dinner?

Help me out and tell me what are the not-to-miss things.

will this be the first time you are having dinner with us????:banana::banana:

I think on the first or second Nanahead cruise we had the same rotation but didn't sit with the Nanaheads (we were shy and worried that folks would not appreciate how darned cute our kids can be). So yes...

We got the dining/show thing in the mail literally the day we were departing for WDW 2 weeks ago. I mean: DW was in the car; I ran to get the mail and take it inside, we then left for the airport. I read it quickly, and seeing this here, I need to go back and read it again. So, you're assigned not just one of 2 dining times, but 1 of 3 show times?

I looked at photo #23. It looks to me like the fish and door number sign is flush mounted? If so, we'd have nothing like the Magic/Wonder to loop our FE cord over.

OK, first take a deep breath :flower3:

With only 4 days you will not be able to do it all. Make a list of what you can not do without, what you would like to do and what you are OK with missing. This is what I am doing with the Oasis and is has helped with my stress levels about getting everything done.

I would say my can not do without would be the Production Shows, Pirate Night, Aquaduck and Palo. However, if your family aren't ones to sit for an hour and watch a stage show, maybe you skip them. Once the Dream starts sailing we will have a better idea of how things are working. Plus I am sure people will be posting copies of Navagators so you can kind of plan you day based on them.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

PS: when I made my reservation on-line the dining default time was late seating. Even though you booked with a TA you should still be able to see your dining info on your reservation on the DCL website. I would start there.

Jeff,
hope the school days work out ok for you. If not we will miss you again because we would be doing the 4 day.

Christine, I am glad they still have the fish. Even of its more snug to the wall I think our holders will be ok, just may not fall down along ways behind the fish this time.

I am anxious to read others report about where they meet. We always use the Promenade Lounge, so not sure where will be the best spot this time?

Hopefully they will have a family lounge area for everyone that nobody will be using at our meet time.

Good night all,

Kathy

Thanks lvstitch,
I am such a planner it is driving me crazy to feel like I am going into this with no idea what I'm doing. I have never been anywhere near a cruise ship before so I am having trouble even imagining what the possibilities are.

I like your idea of looking for a Navigator after the Dream starts sailing. Maybe that will give me a better idea of what the time frame will be like.

It's probably good that I still have so much to figure out or I would go cuckoo waiting all year.:upsidedow

Even though you booked with a TA you can go to the disney cruise line website and look at your reservation. If you really want the early dining though I recommend you call yout TA as early dining tends to sell out. We have only ever ate late because early dining was always sold out. If my clients are sailing with children under 3 and do not request a time at booking generally I book early dining which is probably what your TA did.

I agree with Christine try to take in Sailaway Party, at least one production show, Pirate Night, and Palo's.

:bday:Wow turning eight while on the cruise! What a nice Birthday!

Good Morning everyone! Well we had snow:scared1: not much but still snow!

Ewwwwww!!!! Snow!!!! You poor thing!!! We are supposedly getting snow tomorrow. I'm already ready for summer time again! (It helps that if it's summer time, that means it's almost cruise time too!:rotfl:.)

I changed from early seating and the 5pm show to late seating and the 7pm show as I can't miss the sail away party... I am hoping that my kids can stay up this late, they usually go to bed at 8pm. Over the summer though they stay up super late and we usually eat dinner about 7:30pm or 8pm...

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday, DD is staying home from school because she feels sick. Should be an interesting day...

Morning!:goodvibes Hope your dd's is feeling better!

I bet your kids will be fine with late dining especially if they stay up late over the summer.

We never get snow early...thankfully it is only a dusting and will melt once the sun rises. I am not ready for winter! We normally have a really bad March with lots of snow!

I think she's feeling just fine as she won't stay on the couch and rest. I think she just wanted a day off. She's fairly mad at me because I keep telling her that if she is too sick to be at school, she's too sick to be getting off the couch and playing with the animals and her brother... :rotfl:

My only real concern is that they will be so overstimulated and either melt down or crash with things going on so late... But they always seem to surprise me, that and my wonderful MIL will take them to have a nap if they really need one!:lmao:

If we DO get the snow tomorrow, I don't think it will last. It's too early for one, and for another, it's Indiana. Wait 5 minutes here and the weather will change!:rotfl2:

Morning all,

Princess sleepy, please tell DD

:yay: HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! :woohoo: Hope she has a very special day today.:goodvibes

Gosh I feel left out you guys are getting snow already.:lmao:
Not really !!!

We are headed for 69 again today. Rain this weekend.

For anybody who is newer on this thread,

Shell is making us a cruise mates list of everyone on this thread. We always do this and then it will be sent by e-mail to each of you. Besides info about the people here it has a meeting place and time the first day.and a FE list of those who want to participate, plus when the Ladies only meet is. Lots of great information for everyone.

So what I need from everyone who hasnt already sent it to me, I need your info for Shell. I forward it all to her when I get a few peoples info collected for her. I have more free time than she does so I agreed to help her by doing this.

Here is the type of information we usually list about everyone, it is all voluntary.

Photo
First names of everyone and kids ages (This way moms can find kids close to their kids ages to get aquainted)
early or late dining
cabin number
If your doing the FE exchange
city and state your from
Any celebrations on board like birthdays or anniversaries your celebrating
How many cruises have you been on.
How many are Disney cruises
e-mail addresses. (this is needed to send you the list)

I would appreciate anyone who hasnt already sent me this information to please send it to me so she can get the first list ready to be sent out to everyone soon. It will be updated as new people join us and when people who have GTY rooms get their cabin numbers.

Please send this info to sixtoedfrog@yahoo.com
Please put something on the subject line so i know who you are or it will be deleted.

Thankyou!! It takes everyones effort to make this happen. The list is great to have!! It really helps everyone get aquainted.

Kathy
