Mornin all!

Nothing to report today, just laundry and dishes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! :)

So that is how the FEs work? Everybody gets one day to do it? I was wondering if we were supposed to bring a little thing for each day or what. What are some of the things people have given or received in the past? Is it more likely to be candy since it's Halloween. Also, my nieces both have severe food allergies. I want them to participate, but I don't want to make things difficult for others or kill the girls. Any suggestions on how to handle the situation?

Hi! I normally do not give out food. I made my gifts last cruise and was very impressed with myself until my bag showed up late in my room late with a big green sticker saying it was searched. I guess my gift appeared to be something else on the scanners...oops!:scared1:

We got lots of different stuff in our FE; bookmarks, ornaments, cd's, mini first aid kits, pirate stuff, pencils, cards, miniture photoalbums etc...

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a great day.

What time is most people watching the shows and having dinner? We booked 7:00 show and 8:30 dinner.

Where does one go to set this up? I read where some people got emails from DCL. We did not. Can you do it on "my cruise plans?"

Hi Jeff.

If you login to your Disney Cruise Line; go to the planning center and bring up your reservation you will see it under dining preference.

Our reservation looks like this - Dining Preference: Second Seating, 7PM Show

There are 4 choices:

5:00show - 6:30 dinner
5:00show - 8:30 dinner
7:00show - 8:30 dinner
9:00 show - 6:30 dinner

You can also call and make request if the booking was made by you; otherwise your TA can do it for you.

Jeff I just noticed you stayed at the Poly? Did you like it? Did you stay in concierge? We would like to stay here before we sail just wondering your take the the resort.

It's weird, they sent me a letter for the 1st cruise but nothing for the second:confused3. When I booked the cruises, they only gave you an option to reserve your dining time not the show.

We have stayed at the Poly a couple of times and really like it. Some of the buildings were showing their age but Disney has done a great job of renovating. And we really love the feel of the resort. It IS very Hawaiian on the grounds. This is one place where I'd rather have garden view and save the $$$. Great place to watch the fireworks from the beach and we love the Kona Cafe too. We have NOT done Concierge at the Poly....yet. :-)

Yes me too - just book the dining time and we got no letter (nor did our TA). Going to go on the site later to check it out. We will have late dining but not sure about the show time.

I guess where I just book is why I was given the choice. I really like the 7:00/8:30 option...it will give us time to relax before the evening starts :goodvibes They never gave me a choice for the second cruise either but I guess it is because I requested the same dining staff if possible.

I was looking at the Garden View but in the Hawaii Building with concierge. I never tried concierge at Disney before but like the benifits listed. Kona's is one of the few places we haven't eaten maybe I'll try it out. We enjoyed the Luau and Ohana's Breakfast at the resort in the past.

Got mine in the mail the other day...I have 6pm dinner with 9pm show....:thumbsup2

I got one for my MIL's room, with a 5pm show and main seating, but on my reservation it said we were on the same schedule... I didn't have a choice when I booked though on show times.

Hope everyone had a great day, now off to finish watching the Glee rerun... :)

for us this works best: 5:00show - 6:30 dinner

wonder how i know if this is what i got???

Dining Preference:
Main Seating, 5PM Show

would the MAIN Seating BE the 6:30 dinner?

This was a HUGE issue the first disney cruise we took ......

Not sure what "main" seating is.....my take on this is that main would be early seating??? but I could be wrong in my thinking:confused:

Yes "main" seating is early seating. Right now the dining times are 6pm (main) and 8:30 (late). They don't stagger them anymore there are just two times. Disney doesn't have the actual time on their website so I guess they have the option to change the times.

I'm just hoping the 5pm show doesn't cut our time too badly, but with 3 adults and 2 children, and 2 rooms, surely we can manage to get ready fairly quickly! I don't think my kids would be able to stay awake until the 9pm show time though... Too many decisions!!!

Morning all,

The only bad thing for a 5 p.m. show is when we pull out ,I love to watch us go out the channel and out to sea. If you have a 5 p.m. show you will miss some of the Adventures away party or just enjoying pulling out.

Same thing with port days. If you want to spend all day off ship you will need to be sure and be back by 5 for the show if you want to see that too. 3 and 4 day cruises it wont be so bad but on 7 day cruises you often have a late all aboard time. Then you need to decide which activity to do, stay on shore longer or get back in time for the 5 p.m. show.:confused3

Suppose to have a sunny day today and upper 60's one last day then the rain will return.
Hope everyone has a great day,

Kathy

Hmmm... Now I am considering changing our dining time and show time... I would love to hit the party and also watch us leave PC, AND hit the show...:scared::confused::scared: What to do, what to do!?

That's weird. I did this but when I call up my reservation there is no "Dining Preference"

I booked the b-2-b cruise based on the assumption that the kids would have off Monday and Tuesday of that week for in service days. That's how it has been the last couple of years. What I failed to realize is that Monday is NOT Nov. 1. Now, I am not sure if that means it will stay those days or if it is indeed the FOLLOWING Monday and Tuesday they will have off next year. If that happens, we will probably have to shift our b-2-b to the next week, so we'd be with you all for the three day but then stay on the for the following four days. Waiting for the school calendar to be published....
