Afternoon everyone

Not much going on here, just been planning my cruise in November. We are less than 90 days away We are going on the Oasis. I have only sailed with RCCL once and that was a 4 day cruise. It is way different than DCL. We are just so spoiled. I can't believe you have to pay for your specialty dining and excusions in advance, plus you have to make a special request to get actual luggage tags since your docs are emailed to you. You could get hard copies of your docs mailed to you but it costs $30. Those are just a few things I guess we take for granted sailing with Disney. Hell Disney is already sending me stuff for this cruise. Oh well, I am sure it will be amazing, I just didn't realize how different Disney was

I'm jealous that your going on the Oasis. We wanted to sail on it in April, but it was sailing to ports we'd already been to. You'll have to let us know how it is.

yeah, the ports weren't important to us, we just wanted to get on the ship. Although this is instead of the Med cruise I couldn't afford to take

Christine,
We found tons of differences from cruising on DCL then going on Carnival. We didnt realize how much Disney had us spoiled until we did Carnival. The crews attitude was totally different on both ships too what a difference it was. I have NO desire to do Carnival again but I do want to do Holland America, maybe in 2012? They have new ports and good sale prices.

Greg, I dont think any schools get Halloween week off? Maybe Idaho is different? I hope so, the more that go the better it will be.


Its all cloudy this morning and only 57. They say the sun will return late this afternoon and be around 80 then 70's this weekend. It feels great after all the hot days lately. Had a nasty thunderstorm pass through last night.

Hope to get a good brisk walk in this morning since its cooler. It really energizes my dogs when its cooler so to keep them from bouncing off the walls I need to walk them good this morning.

To the BFF'S: I just a need a couple of answers:

My friend is going on a cruise in November, their first and on another cruise line.....anywho....I was telling them about what you guys bring on board...(alcohol)...have any of you shipped to the port? I doubt you have packed it and brought it on the plane....did you purchase it florida once you arrived? She was curious about this and I wasnt exactly sure....thanks for the help on this.

Denise,
the people I know who bring alcohol stop and buy it in Florida. Most Limos and shuttle services will allow a quick stop on the way to the port.
Also those who stay over night at Cocoa beach buy it there, the night before the cruise.

Others who drive there just bring it in the car.

Not sure how the nanaheads did it?

I have decided school is for the birds. Waking up early is killing DD and I this week!!! Feast meetings are all done now until the event is over though so that's a plus. Had 2 the last 2 days and they both ran super long so I got to bed so late.

Last year on the Halloween Cruise there were many people onboard from Massachusetts as it was a School Holiday.

Howdy Jaime,
It would be awesome if you guys could come too. So far we have :

Denise and Wally , Christine and Joey, myself (hopefully) Shell & Bill, Maybe Greg and family, Jeff and Mina. Not sure yet about the others.They seem to be on Facebook rather than here most of the time. Hopefully more will post here when the cruise gets closer.
So you might ask there, I thought at one point Bobby (Moranclan) said they might come too.
But dont forget about all the new nanaheads that are posting here now. We have some really great new people here that we havnt cruised with before. I am anxious to meet all my new friends. I know you will feel the same once you get aquainted with them.


Thanks for the school holiday info. We dont have any time off here for the kids so it seems weird to me to think a break in school at that time of the year

Please let me know when you decide about the cruise. I would love for you to come too!! Then you can help us work on more nanaheads to come too.

Yep, still hot as Hades...and humid. Usually we have about 10% in the summer it's been over 40% for the past few days topped with the 105º temps it hasn't been too fun. Our seven day forcast doesn't go under 105º. We usually cool down at the end of Sept.

I never even considered a b2b....hmmm...more to think about. I need to do a 3 or 4 day cruise for my CLIA certification with work so I can't think of a better cruise to go on . I have only ever did 7 day cruises. Doing a b2b sounds like fun though! Kathy were are you living now?

Hi everyone! My name is Jaime. My dh is Glen and we have two girls who will be 9 and 7 on this cruise. We should know if we are going for sure by mid- September. I am just waiting on my 2011 work conference dates and location to be released.

Hey Nanaheads
We are back. Left Barcelona at 10:30 am today (4:30 a.m. Pittsburgh time) and I'm still awake. I'm going to crash hard as I didnt sleep on the plane.

We had an incredible cruise. I've been posting pix to FB but I'm also planning to do a trip report with photos soon. We have so many stories to tell and advice to give since we did DCL excursions in almost every port.

And the best news of all. We are OFFICIALLY booked on the back-to-back now. So count us in for sure!
