Happy Monday everyone, well we are another week closer to this cruise

Suppose to hit 97 here today, but back down to the mid 80's later this week which will be ok with me.

Going to use the BBQ again today just so we dont heat the place up. I made nachos last night but I think we will do steaks tonight and then sloppy joes tomorrow. That sounds easy to me.

Pretty quiet day here today, at least until the trash collection happens then both dogs will go beserk That always adds some excitement to the day. I think the entire community here can hear them when they whoof.

I will post a few photos later today, I hope others here will also post some photos. Any photos will do, they dont have to be cruise photos.

It's just fun to see other peoples photos and it does pass the days here when we have new things to see.

Morning everyone had a busy but fun weekend. It got hot again, 108 yesterday. Just stayed inside and enjoyed the AC

Don't know if anyone has seen this yet but WDW released more free dining into 2011, plus some discounted rooms:

We have the free dining plan for our December trip this year. Its great.
Just a few months ago they said NO more free dining plans, in hopes people would book anyway ,but revervations went down so they brought it back until October and then last month they extended it until Christmas and now into 2011.
I think its due to the economy. People are more likely to book if they can get some free meals.

It really makes WDW more affordable for a vacation. For our 13 day trip there it will save us hundreds of dollars.
Their park admissions just went up again too.

We had free dining last year and upgraded to deluxe...it was way too much food but I loved having all those snack credits for the Food and Wine Festival.

I have mixed feeling about the package. Don't know if I would pay for it. I found that by the end of the meal between drinks and tax I was still paying what I would have if I didn't have the plan, although it was nice to sit and enjoy dinner every night.

I wouldnt pay for it but when its included its great !!!
Last year we had so many snacks and a few meals left so we turned it all in the last night for Mickey rice krispy treats then gave them away on the ship as FE gifts to the kids. I was determined to use every last bit of it.

Well my garage sale was a bustSet up in the hot sun, and hardly any people stopping by...to hot I guess. Next year I am going to be a shopper instead of a seller! Went to a cook out at my daughters tonight, was nice not to have to cook anything. Hope this humid weather breaks soon. Between the humidity, and hot flashes, I'm sweating so bad, I hope I lose weight!

I think he must have dozed of again for his afternoon nappy poo and dreamed it. You know how unrealistic he gets when he doesnt get his meds on time, poor old fella. I guess thats what happens when you get old.

Lucky for him he has a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, devoted wife who is also a nurse to care for him.

Yes, I do believe that Greg dreams "alot of things"....not saying hes out of touch with reality, but if the shoe fits!!!

I take great solace in the fact that both you and Denise will be wearing adult under garments and smell of moth balls and Bengay long before I will!


My wife does take very good care of me.

Yes, but since you have adopted us...you get the "smell" first hand!! I'm just sayin!!!

FE Gifts = Fish Extender Gifts.

Everyroom has a metal fish outside it's door (wonder is the dream will still have them) we hang a mailbox type thing from (wow, maybe someone else should explain this).

Anyway, we get a list of people together who want to participate in giving FE gifts before the cruise and everyday someone will leave you a little gift in your FE, it's a lot of fun especially if you have kids since they get so excited to see what's there when you get back to your room.

Congrats on the grades and finishing school Its tough to do but well worth it in the end.





There should be a FE exchange on both cruises. This is always set up before the cruise by the people on your cruise.
Shell who does our cruisemates list usually puts a list of all those who want to participate and their room numbers so you know where to find them. She is on both cruises like Christine is so I am sure she will post this on the list for everyone.

FE which means Fish extender. AS Christine shows in the photo it hangs from the metal fish. It also has 2 or 3 pockets for the gifts to go. Hopefully they will have the fish or equivilant of to hang extenders. I am sure they will have something because room hosts and others often will put something there for you.

On the main forum page at the top there is a link to information about DCL cruises and on that list is another link to show how to sew one or make one without sewing if you want. There are also photos of more extenders to give you ideas on how to decorate one unless you already have an idea in mind.

I also know someone who sews them to earn cruise money if you want to pay to have someone else do it and on e-bay there are many who make them for money. Personally its fun to make them for yourself if you can.



Denise, I think we need to get Greg sandwiched between us at dinner, just to make his trip more memorable But first we have to get him to commit to this cruise or is it get him committed??
Either way could be fun

Its been awhile since I have mentioned this but anyone who wants to be added to the cruise mates list for either or both crusies please send me a PM here.
I have been gathering the information for Shell (woogal) who does our lists each cruise.
People can send as little or as much as they want but the more the better.

Here is what we usually add to the list:
a photo
first names of everyone coming and their relations. (son, daughter, mom etc..) We usually post the ages of kids just so they can find other kids their own age to get aquainted with before the cruise with the help of mom and dad.
city and state your from
how many cruises you have been on
any special celebrations your having (birthday,anniversary etc..)
Cabin number ( some wont know this for awhile)
early or late dining
e-mail address ( so parents can get kids aquainted with other kids, or if you want to chat with someone privately)
If you want to particiate in the FE exchange

You dont need to worry about this being out for public viewing, this will be e-mailed only to those who are on the list. NEVER put on this thread for anyone to view.
The bananaheads have done this every cruise and it really is fun to learn about those your cruising with. Plus the photos help to put a face with the names before our meet on board.

It is a great source of information about the meet on board, the FE exchange and the ladies only meet. You dont want to miss this information.

So please if you havnt already done this send me the info you want to and I will make sure Shell gets it. The more information she gets the sooner the first copy of the list will be sent out to everyone.
She then will update and resend the list occassionally when new people join the thread.

After sitting between you two for that long I'd need to be "committed"!

Janel and I are going to try and do this cruise next year....at least the 4 day portion. I'd really like to see all the Nana's again, but it will all depend on if the kids are out of school that week. ;-)

Afternoon everyone

Not much going on here, just been planning my cruise in November. We are less than 90 days away We are going on the Oasis. I have only sailed with RCCL once and that was a 4 day cruise. It is way different than DCL. We are just so spoiled. I can't believe you have to pay for your specialty dining and excusions in advance, plus you have to make a special request to get actual luggage tags since your docs are emailed to you. You could get hard copies of your docs mailed to you but it costs $30. Those are just a few things I guess we take for granted sailing with Disney. Hell Disney is already sending me stuff for this cruise. Oh well, I am sure it will be amazing, I just didn't realize how different Disney was
