Sorry these are so fuzzy but they were taken with a phone and the quality is very poor. But for me they are better than nothing.

My mom with MaryAnne and my DD, Rachel is on the floor helping hold her.

Now for our day at the coast. It was extremely cloudy so they arnt bright, but better than the phone photos of the baby.

Son Peter up high on one of the large rocks.

Peter took our photo from on the rock. I was dressed for the extreme wind then it was not windy so I had to take off the hat and gloves later and unbutton the warm coat.

This is the ledge where Minnie got stuck for awhile. It was steep and high up. I guess she thought she was a mountain goat or something:lmao:

Kathy, nice pictures! :cool1:

How old is your new grand daughter now?

I think we're going to try and spend a week at Depot Bay or Schooners landing next summer. If you guys are still in Oregon we'll have to hook up. :thumbsup2

She will be 7 months in 5 days. I have only seen her once, when she was 6 days old. They live about 4 hours drive at 70 MPH on the freeway. Hopefully we will bump into her sometime when she is visiting my mom.

I know exactly where your talking about. Have you ever stayed at Depot Bay before?? It has a few neat shops on the main road and a view place over looking the ocean thats glass enclosed but no area to actually get on the beach unless you drive either direction a ways.
They do have a great little candy shop there, close to the bridge that has great taffy and fudge:goodvibes
You should go see the Sea Lion Caves while your on the Coast, its unique. Very loud though. They bark really loud, kinda like me :lmao: If you dont want to pay to go down to the actual cave in the elevator you can stand out on a lookout and see many sea lions, just bring your own binoculars for best viewing. They have a nice gift shop there too.

Newport has a great waterfront with lots to do and lots of beach access too. Its not too far from Depot Bay, just enjoy the coastline as you drive.

We will definately connect up with you if we are still in the area.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Ok Nanaheads we are too quiet lately !!

That is not typical of us, so who has some cruise photos or family vacation photos to share??

I know the Kings of vacations (Jeff & Greg) must have a few thousand to share!! It doesnt have to be a DCL cruise.
Speaking of Jeff, He should be popping in one of these days???:confused3

I shared photos yesterday so someone else can share next and I will add more later.:goodvibes

Hi Kathy,

Yeah, we own a timeshare at Depoe Bay out at whale watch point and Janel and I enjoy going there. The kids enjoy it too, but they prefer to stay up at Seaside. We enjoy going to the aquarium in Newport, but we haven't done the Sea lion caves yet.

Ok, here are a couple of pictures from our weekend up at the cabin in Island park a few weeks ago.

Wow thats some cabin!

In Oregon we call that a mansion :lmao:
Our cabins have 2 rooms. A bathroom and open area where the bed is and a kitchenette. Hopefully the bathroom is indoors:rolleyes1 Some rustic cabins have outdoor plumbing still in the mountains here!!!

Looks like a great place. I can tell your woking hard in that big easy chair!!

Whale Watch point is a pretty area. Never stayed in that area but have driven by countless times.
The aquarium is nice at Newport. Ever done the Hattfield Marine Science Center? Its really nice too. Our grandkids love it there. It use to be free, not sure if it stillis. Even a nature trail around the outskirts of that area there.

Christine I will be waiting for those photos!!!

Man, I've just determined I'm a total DIS slacker! Sorry everyone! Been crazy around here! DD had a fever last Wednesday of 103.2, then went to the doctor on Thursday morning, had no fever all day Thursday and Friday by noon it was back up to 103.5. Took her into urgent care to find out that there isn't anything wrong with her besides a virus. Went out Friday night to watch a band I know and stayed out way too late and was fairly groggy all day Saturday. Yesterday the kids and I set up the pop up in the driveway and "camped out" for the night.

Found out who DD has for a teacher this year, should shape up to be an interesting year! The teacher she got and I don't exactly get along, but I'm hoping she doesn't put the married name together with me and torture DD all year.

Been shopping online today for cruise things to get on sale, haven't found a whole lot really.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! :goodvibes

We loved the segway tour, worth every penny. Lots of fun and very easy. Although it does hurt the muscles in your legs because of the way you have to stand. They give you a really good class on how to ride it before they let you out in the park. We did the 1st one of the morning and it was great because we got to ride through an empty park. Everything was open by the end of the tour and it was a lot harder to navigate through all the people (cause god forbid they get out of your way). We got to ride through all the countries and I got to see some areas I have never seen before (the gardens in England and China).

Mansion?....cabin?....you say tomato, I say tomoto. It's just where we go to commune with nature. ;)

Our first time staying in it (about 8 years ago) Chayce woke up in the middle of the night screaming because he was lost and couldn't find us.

We had my mother, brothers and sisters and their families up to stay with us at the cabin for Christmas about about 4 years ago and we had just set up the Christmas tree (15 feet tall) in the great room and had unloaded all the Christmas gifts out of the vehicles and hid them so the kids wouldn't find them. Janel and my SIL's were making hot coco and cider in the kitchen when all of a sudden the lift pump for the septic system malfunctioned and started pumping raw sewage back into the cabin through the floor drain in the laundry room. It was aweful!! We had to pack up everything and take it back to our house (at 10pm at night) and set everything back up. :scared1:

It did make for one of our most memorable Christmas's though. :rolleyes1

Christine, are the Segways very hard to drive? I've always wanted to try it, but I've been worried that because I'm so tall it wouldn't be able to keep me upright?
