Our Mediterranean cruise thread is on CC, so I'm over there quite a bit. I'm organizing an overnight group tour in Cairo and Alexandria. We now have over 60 people signed up for the tour and by the time we cruise in December I'm guessing we'll have well over 100. I spend a lot of time e-mailing information to people and answering questions, but the tour is going to be amazing! :woohoo:

Greg the tour sounds good....what will you guys actually be doing on the tour itself?

busy here today at work.....

be back later
:banana::banana::banana:

The weekend is almost here :thumbsup2

We are 32 this morning but still suppose to hit 70 today and tomorrow.
Sorry Greg I'm not sending that your way. I WANT THE SUNSHINE!!;)
It's all mine.

Not much happening here today.

Greg is going from work to his moms to put trim on the addition he had added a few months ago. The weather is just now co-operating to do that.
He will be home by 5 tomorrow because they are having a spaghetti feed here. Its free!! He loves spaghetti.:goodvibes Plus I dont have to cook.

Sunday I will go see my mom. They are having a High Tea for the ladies and their families. The men there get treats too but in a different area, since its mothers day.

Thats my weekend plans.

Hope everyone has a good plan for the weekend too.

Kathy

I'm gonna be down with my parents on Mother's Day so I might not get a chance to say it---HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM KATHY:flower3: Hopefully I'll get back in time to wish it again on Sunday but I'm covering my bases. Happy Mothers Day to all the other moms out there, whether they be regular ol babies or of the fuzzy variety!

Nope, I've been looking on Youtube but can't find it. Was it the one they used on their web site? Maybe email the tech team on the web site.

YO NANAS (Old and new)! Doing a little posting here as I don't like to see my BFF-NV get all out of sorts. You know how those New Jersians are :rolleyes1

Denise, ADORABLE pics of Izzy! Love the dress, love the cake! Grandpa seems to be getting into the spirit too!

We're in for a cool weekend here, but then all of our weekends lately have been CRAP! I think it's God's way of telling me to clean the friggen house and quit worrying about laying on in the sun. :headache:

Happy saturday everyone,

Shell great to see you posting.:goodvibes Dont be such a stranger ok?

Some how everytime I type your name i have to go back and make corrections. For some reason the S seems to disappear?? That has happened about 6 or 7 times in the last year. Glad i caught it before it posted:eek:

Cold this morning, 32 but heading for 70 again today:woohoo:

Shell have you started a list for this cruise before we get too many to do all at once? Or are you not doing one this time?

Greg is at his moms workign today.
Peter left early to go to his brothers house to help with a garage sale, so its just me and the pups today.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I read on line where the new double slides are open now on Castaway Cay. People all had good reviews of them. You have to swim out to them and there is a bucket of water that dumps on people waiting to slide. LOL! Kids are required to wear a life vest due to the deep water to get to and from the slide.

Kathy

I so want to do those slide but the water at CC is always so cold. I am really hoping to get one of those cabanas on CC too.:banana:

Well, we haven't officially booked anything yet... As my ticker shows we were going to go on a 5 day in July but now we are seriously considering switching to this cruise (99.99% positive this is the one we are doing). We have planned out both and we think this one will be the better option for us. We are going to surprise my MIL sometime with this as a gift and take her with us. I'm a compulsive planner, so I have planned pretty much everything out, now just have to work on getting the deposit around for the 5 of us. :D Maybe my MIL will join the nanaheads... Who knows. lol I am just really ready to get on the ship NOW. Hope everyone is doing well!

~morgan~

Hi Morgan,

hope you decide to join our crazy group of Bananaheads.:goodvibes
If you book you will all have the honor of being bananaheads, not just your MIL.:thumbsup2 Dont worry we are an "apeeling" group to be associated with.
A real fun bunch.:rolleyes1

Morning all,

well we have lost our beautiful sun and are back to rain and cold. Suppose to be nice later in the week though. Hope they are right.

Had an awesome visit with mom. She of course didnt know it was mothers Day so was very surprized to get the cards and gifts. She loves gifts, before she always said dont spend your money on me. But now she just loves it.:goodvibes

Then they had a Mothers Day tea for all the moms and their families. So she was very surprized about that too.
It was very nice. The tables were decorated like in the 20's and 30's which was nice for most of them according to their ages.
Each table had different cookies and candies to nibble on with your tea.
But the high light was all the very old tea pots and cups and saucers. They were all different and looked like it was someones collection that was doanted for the day. Some tea pots looked like cats, flowers, houses etc.. very unusual. Mom loved seeing them all as we sat by where they were getting filled so she could see all of them.
She was smiling and teasing us all afternoon. Best visit ever. That was the best mothers day present i could get.
Only downside was i forgot my camera and the lady who usually takes photos wasnt there. So no pictures:sad2:

Hope all you moms out there had a good day too.:goodvibes

Lets stay off page 2 where I found us today!!!
The whips are about ready to come back out again,

Kathy

Thanks Kathy! We are fairly sure we are going to book, it's just hard for us to get that initial deposit rounded around. My MIL works at Purdue University and has to work all home football games and that weekend is one of the only ones that doesn't have plans already or a home game on it. DH and I are trying to come up with creative ways to tell her we are taking her with us, but we don't want to give her TOO much time to stew on it... We've came up with a few ideas. :goodvibes I think we are leaning toward a scavenger hunt in her house with things that she will need on the cruise like crocs and sunscreen and a bucket and shovel... Any other ideas would be awesome!

Um, I thought I would ask you since you have done so many Disney cruises, do they have life jackets on Castaway Cay for rent or free for the kids? Both of my kids will know how to swim by then, but I won't let them go in the lake let alone the ocean with out a life jacket! If they don't, I guess I will just pack ours, I just don't want to have to deal with them if I don't have to. :)

heres 2 photos of the Dream under construction. She is looking better every day now.

I dont recall seeing life vests for kids on the island.
You can get a small vest they were for snorkeling by asking, but they dont really work like a true life vest.
I know where the new slides will be they said they will have life vests for kids to wear in order to swim out to the slide, so you could probably ask for one there and return it there when done for the day.

One good thing is where the family beach is its only a few inches deep and very slowly gets deeper, no drop offs either just a gentle slope which does help with some of the worries. Some kids wear those plastic rings on their arms.

I have seen many kids 4 and under wearing swim suits with a built in life jacket so they cant go under. Plus the swim suit covers them pretty good which helps with sunburn problems. I have seen those suits at Walmart and Target before, they are really great. The kids cant sldie out of them or take them off. Plus they take up less room than bringing a separate vest.

You might check that out.

Kathy

 Morning everyone

Welcome Morgan and family:cool1::cool1:

Our ship is looking good. Looks like both halves have been fused together.

i almost forgot, I think a scavenger hunt is a great idea. Maybe start off with a dinner with a tropical theme and dessert can include a treasure map with clues for the treasure hunt?

We surprized 2 of the grandkids once. At that time we were living an hour from the port in Florida and they lived in Oregon.
We invited them out to visit, then said we were going to spend a few days at Cocoa beach in a nice hotel so they didnt think anything of us driving towards the port. Of course they just packed old shorts and tank tops for the beach so when they figured out as we were pulling into the parking lot they about died. (13 year old girl) I dont have any clothes to wear on the ship!! I cant go to dinner in ratty cut offs. I dont have any make up!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

But she soon discovered her mom had packed up their good clothes, pirate costumes and formal dress. Andy couldnt care less if he had to wear shorts all week.:lmao: Boys are so much easier.
Plus we told them it was a 3 day cruise but it was really a 7 day cruise.
I had the cam corder running as we approached the port to get their reactions. It was priceless.

I hope your surprizing your MIL goes just as well. Its is a great thing to do for someone.
