Greg,
are the ships stopping at Haiti again?
I hadnt heard they had started back there again.

Kathy

As far as I know we're still going to Haiti. They haven't told us any different.

I would mind if they missed Haiti and went to Aruba instead though. :rolleyes1

Morning all,

well we are suppose to have another nice day before rain returns by tomorrow so we are going to BBQ some steaks tonight. Peter is here and he will fire up the grill before Greg gets home and be the chef for tonight.

Greg, Aruba sounds nice!!
I havnt heard where they were routing ships to but I know they had canceled stops there after the quake and I hadnt heard that they had resumed them yet. So you may have a different stop. You would think the cruise line would contact everyone ahead of time if there was a change so you could look for different excursions.
Maybe they have started back there again, but it seems like it would be a depressing stop and possible diseased area to stop at right now.

Have fun packing:goodvibes

No real news from here today, I just wanted to check in and say hello.

Kathy

Good morning Kathy!

I checked with RCCL and they said we will be stopping in Haiti. Personally I'd rather stop somewhere else, but I guess it will be an experience?

BBQ sounds good....its been warm enough here the past few days that maybe we can try it tonight. I've been craving some steak on the grill. :)

Hey everybody.
Just back from NYC where I spent most of the last week. Did some business and had some fun.

Lizzie either broke or severely sprained a bone in her forearm and has a cast on. Hope they are only going to leave it on for 2 weeks. - they are actually going to take it off and check at that time and decide if they need to recast it or not. They don't think it is broken, but after a couple of days just using a splint, it started to get very swollen, so they casted it. So she's out of commission for swimming for a while but we are hoping that if they don't need to recast it, she'll be good to go for our Disney trip in March. Otherwise she is going to be a bit uncomfortable on that trip.

Have barely gotten 4 hours sleep the last 2 nights as I flew home very early Sat. morning had to work a swim meet today so I'm beat and ready for a long winter's nap.

Our snow is all melted. Amazing how quickly those 3 plus feet went away. When I left for NY on Wed., we probably still had a solid 10-15 inches on the ground but when I returned on Saturday it was gone. We were so tired of seeing it that even looking at the muddy mess out in our back yard (we're building a pool) is a welcome change.

Sorry about Lizzie's arm. Hopfully it's only a bruise and she will get her cast off before WDW.

Looks like you left NYC just in time. Did you see the big storm they had Saturday night? 74 mph winds at JKF:scared1:

RCCL never stopped going to Haiti because Labadee wasn't affected. They were asked by the Gov't to continue to stop there becaue that is were they make a lot of their money from. It was a big controversy because people were saying RCCL was terrible for going but it really did help them. Also they loaded the ships with supplies to all the victums and even brought Drs in. So overall it was a good thing. A lot of guest also donated money and left clothing, water and shoes behind on the island so the workers could bring the stuff home.

We are stopping there in November. There is the only port where I am paying for an excusion because it helps them so much. I am sure I will be leaving several pairs of flip flops behind too.

Denise,

Are you jealous of my job? I think you post more then I do? You've got almost twice as many "tops" to prove it.

Anyone had trouble getting on the Cruise Critic boards? I haven't been able to get on since Saturday? :confused3

Jeff,
hows Elizabeth doing today?
I hope the pain is better now.
I'm sure she misses her swimming.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy - Yeah she is probably going to start going to practice in a few days to just do kick drills. She was really on a roll, improving her times at every meet so I hope this isn't a big setback.

Think of it this way Greg. Your ship going to Haiti is helping the people there by bringing money into the region. I think it's great that RCCL is still making stops in Haiti.

Thanks re Lizzie. We hope the cast comes off too. What a pain (literally).

Re NYC - Yes I did see that. But Friday night was no treat either. I left the Garden and it wasn't raining so I decided to walk back (to the Hilton on Sixth) instead of trying to get a cab or taking the subway. It's a walk I had made many times during the week and I like doing it because I stop at places along the way. About halfway back it started to POUR. There was no way I was getting a cab and I had just passed the last subway stop that would've helped me so I got drenched even though I had an umbrella because the wind was blowing so hard. Worst weather moment ever for me in NYC! But I still loved being in the city.

Morning all,

Greg I go to cruise critic everyday and I have had no problems at all. So i dotn know why you cant get on unless they realized how arnry you are and banned you:lmao:

Jeff,

hope the cast comes off tomorrow ok. I know when my dd had an arm cast it was not the best of times for any of us!! It was a hot summer and she itched and all kinds of nasty things for 6 weeks.

well today we are back to rain but then its suppose to be upper 50, maybe low 60's and all sun for the next several days, all through the weekend even.

Greg and I are probably going to load up the pups and head to the beach for the day over the weekend. The pups love to run the beach and jump in the waves. We live really close to the beach. Maybe an hours drive and this end of the coast line is never crowded. We pass by an elk reserve along the way that can have up to 200 elk or more. I will take the binoculars in case they are back by the tree line, but many times they are up in the field where you can easily see them.
Its a nice day trip.
Today I am off to the grocery store while my sons watches the pups.

The steaks came out really good on the BBQ last night. Not sure what to have tonight.

Catch everyone later,

Kathy

Well I figured it out. For some reason my wireless router is blocking the cruise critic boards? I found a back door through the UK website, so I can get on. I've been on the phone with Linksys all morning trying to fix the problem, but no luck. Sounds like I'll need to get a new router today. :sad2:

Afternoon all:

Greg: I'm so happy that you finally agree with me that you sure chat....alot!!:lmao::lmao: and now I have it in writing!!:thumbsup2
Also, arent you a little too young to be having router problems??:rolleyes1

Nothing much going on here.....just workin hard:rolleyes1

You try multitasking 7 computers, 1 network printer and a network storage device and see how long you last. :rotfl2:

Problem solved! Just installed a new Cisco router and we're up and running again. I guess I should of installed this thing long ago. I can stream HD video to our tv now. :woohoo:

Ummm Greg, have you stared packing yet?

Well it was a beautiful spring day here today....thrusday we are supposed to be at 68 and I get off work at noon that day....however, snow on saturday and poss sunday:sad2:

Just gonna chill and watch some tv.....

Ummm Greg, have you stared packing yet?

Of course not. I don't leave for another week.

I'll probably drag out the luggage on Wednesday evening. Our flight doesn't leave until 12:30pm Thursday afternoon from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

It'll take me a little over an hour to drive to Jackson Hole from my house that morning.

Howdy everyone,

Greg on cruise critic is had an announcement about some kind of virus and problems they had, they said when they find out more they will post it, so maybe that had something to do with your problem??

It was 32 this morning and very foggy but now the sun is out and its going to hit 60 today:goodvibes In fact if they are right saturday will be 66:woohoo:
Thats the day I wanted to go to the beach to walk with the dogs. So it looks like a great day for it.:cool1:

Hope everyone is doing good today. All is well here. Both dogs are asleppa nd minnie is snoring like a lumber jack today:lmao: Poor baby has allergies and clogs up alot in the spring and summer. But the snoring sounds hilarious.

Pixie howls like a wolf in her sleep sometimes and wakes herself up. The look on her face is priceless as she wonders what happened??

gotta run , I need to fill the gas tank today before the price of gas jumps up again.;)
