WOW! This is great to know! thanks for sharing! We had already requested starting in Parrot Cay so hopefully that works out and I won't plan anything for Thursday - we have yet to be able to make it to one of these

Do you know what time the breakfast is? We have late seating. . .

Judy that cake is wonderful!! How was the party?

IIRC it is 8:30 AM for early seating and 9:45 for late. :thumbsup2

Judy that cake is awesome! Love the pierced ear!!! :rotfl2: Hope Tim had a great party!

Here is the *Magic* formula for Character Breakfast. You (should) be scheduled for CB the sea-day morning after your first regular rotational seating in Animator's Palate.

Therefore:

APLAPLA has CB on SUNDAY
LAPLAPL has CB on MONDAY
PLAPLAP has CB on THURSDAY

So if you want your CB on a specific day you can call DCL or your TA and request the above rotation that will best fit your needs. It isn't guaranteed that you will get the rotation you request (our success rate in the past is 50/50) but don't forget you can also request rotation changes upon boarding in Rockin Bar D!

Awesome info! Although, I was going to try and get a Palo Brunch (1st time yeah right). This makes my head almost hurt. We will have a CB at Chef Mickeys on Thursday, so May be not Sunday. I was thinking Thursday Palo. That leaves Monday, are the meals the same at all restaurant based on what is served ship wide? or is it a individual restaurant thing? I think my wife wants more time at Parrots too.. AHHH desicions.

My new fave from them is "Whatever It Is". I had no idea who sung it when I first heard it. Doesn't have that beach/boats/island feel but is a beautiful song!

This has been my wife's ring tone ever since they came out. Although, that may change to "Hwy 20". Although, I am not a complete over the road driver, I only see my wife and son on the weekends since we are on alternating shifts. Highway 20 Ride The song is about a dad wanting to see his child of divorce. In my case, the song is about not that but about the opportunity of seeing them both (we are not divorced nor will we ever be). Its not the way that I would like it, but its its how it has to be. Can't wait for vacation! hahaha:drive:

Well the meals, now that is tricky. As far as the Character Breakfast- the meals are all the same (and it is always served in Parrot Cay if that confuses you even more!!! ;)). As far as dinner meals, the rotational meals are restaurant specific- meaning each restaurant has a menu for that particular restaurant you are in. The rest of the nights (Villains, Pirate, and nights 6 & 7) are shipwide menus (meaning no matter which restaurant you are in the food is the same.) SO...you might want to wait and see if you can get a Palo reservation before boarding (brunch is harder to get than dinner) and once you have that, see if you can choose your rotation around that, then you can request and hopefully get the rotation that works best. Take a peek at Janice's spreadsheet here (also on post 1) it shows each night how the theme and menu is broken down:

MNSSHCruiseSchedule.jpg

It's very hard to do, I had everything planned to a T last time and then they thew us an intinerary AND dinner rotation change curveball. It messed all my plans up!

Also another rotation tip: changes are much easier to get on late seating. We've always had no trouble changing to get what we want but we are late eaters. Some of the early seating folks I sailed with on past cruises could not change things around the way they wanted once they got onboard.

Oh yeah I love Highway 20 Ride too! And I had never thought about it in those terms, but you're so right. I can totally identify with it like that, cause like you guys we are on opposite shifts too (Ron days, me nights)!

Hey all!

We will now be joining you all at Nachi Cocum :goodvibes, as we have decided to do that as a family instead of the Mayan ruins tour. It really sounds like an awesome place! It will be fun with our group there. I will e-mail tinkerbelltwins with our info. With our family of 7 that makes our number to the mid 80's. We are all so excited here! We leave exactly 4 months from today since we are driving down from Wisconsin in our camper.:woohoo:

With all this talk on the character breakfast and meal rotation, do you think that maybe we should move the Dis TOT time to around 11:00 or so, so that those that have that day's character breakfast at late seating can still go? Just a thought. If 10:00 works better for everyone else than that is fine with me too.:)

Yeah....we are so glad that your family is joining us on the beach! Our numbers are now at 86 (49 adults and 37 kids). There still might be space if anyone else out there is interested....

Princess Trisha, how was your weekend? I hear and See Toronto was NOT the place to be this weekend. Unbelievable what some people will do to cause havoc! Sounds like some positive stuff came out of the summit meeting itself though. Glad it's over and the city can get back to normal. :)

Yes it was quite riotious downtown.

My coworker's daughter lives right in the lockdown zone (for school) and got some pictures of the havoc (the burned out car, the broken windows, etc).

I'm just glad that everyone is okay - I had two staff members on assignment to the G20 and I have to admit I was concerned about them yesterday.

Does anyone remember how much the deposit was per person for Nachi Cocom? I put out the deposit for our entire group of 13 and now I have to let everyone know how much they owe me now and what their balance due is.

What was the adult deposit per person?

What was the child 4-11 Deposit per person?

And I am assuming there is no deposit for the under 4 age group but correct me if I am wrong. I sent in a request for this info from Island Marketing but they have not gotten back to me yet. We have no one in the 11-17 age group going.

Thanks.

MJ

The contract language says "A $12 usd/ adult, $7 usd/child (12-17), and $5 (4yrs-11) deposit is required in order to secure your reservation."

Remind your group that the balance needs to be paid the day of the excursion in cash or traveler check as they don't take credit cards there! Hope this helps....

Thanks Beth....I looked very everything 100 times and missed that!!! I am including all the info in my graph to the group and I told them to pay before in cash before the Excursion and I will make the one payment when we get there!!

Thanks again!!!

I'm not sure if we'll be able to see anything, but yeah I am thinking it could affect traffic.

I'm not exactly sure where the beach they list as the viewing location is in relation to the actual port area. It's got to be pretty close as they are holding events at Fishlips on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Here's the website: Cocoa Beach Air Show

Would be great if we could watch the Thunderbirds from deck 9 or 10 as we sail away!!! :thumbsup2

YIKES :scared1:! As usual, I am way behind on this thread. Noticed the mention of Fishlips and this could be a problem for our Meet and Greet the night before.

Not sure if any of the new members on this thread are interested, but please PM me if you are. We don't have many participants at this point, but perhaps I should call and see about space for our group.

Judy,

Add three more to the Captain Marvin's excursion!:cool1: Our entire party of 13 is booked!

Thanks, Kristen

Sorry haven't posted been busy with lifes curveballs....4 months to go, my daughter was reading the posts last night and wanted to know how to make the magnets for the doors and is really interested in the FE and wants more information..

I print my magnet disigns onto white cardstock, then laminate them, then put peel and stick thick magnets on the back. It works for me and is cheaper than buying magnetic sheets for the printer.

The FE is a hanging thing with pockets. If you sign up to join the FE, you supply small gift/surprises for others in the FE group and everyone else does the same. It's like a secret Mickey or Secret Santa. The FE itself is hung from the fish hook outside your cabin. There are instructions in the DCL Faq's section on how to make your own no sew FE or you can buy one off of ebay, or find someone here to make one for you. I make them too. They are easy fun to make, so even if you aren't all that crafty.

I am also interested in the FEs. I could use a little direction on what to do, never participated in FEs before.

1. Where can I get a cool FE for a 6 year old girl who likes princesses. (I don't think the 17 year old girl would interested, but who knows).

2. What kind of FE presents do you buy? I guess this is kind like stuffing a stocking at Christmas time.

3. Do you randomly put gifts in the FEs during the cruise or is this done all at once in the beginning?

4. Do we get a list of staterooms for those participating?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks

Jeff

I'll try to answer some of these . . .
I bought our FE off of Ebay from gradys mommy (no space) - she did a beautiful job, good price and quick
however - you can do whatever you want - if it is just her participating you can get a bag from the Disney Store (similar to the reusable shopping bags at grocery stores) they currently have some cute princess options

you will get a list of all that are participating - we are waiting until the cut off date to decide if we will all be one group or need to split into smaller groups

check this out for more info:

I've started to make stuff for the FEs and got the spreadsheet list from Leslie a few weeks ago. TinkoftheBlueGrass was the last one on spreadsheet that I got, but since then I saw on the posts that KristieUK added on. Has there been anyone else who lately (say in the last few weeks) decided to do it? I know that the cutoff date is sometime in August but I'm going ahead and making some of the stuff now while we've got summer down time. By my count adding KristieUK's family, I have Adults: 24 males, 29 females; Tweens and Teens (ages 10-19) 6 boys 10 girls; Children 3-9 years: 10 boys, 19 girls; Infants and Toddlers: 2 boys, 1 girl. Does this sound about right to anyone else who might be needing the approximate age breakdowns and gender of the kids for the little gifts? I just saw the postings by Sarge219 and Pudo but haven't added them to my informal running total as I wasn't sure if they've decided yet.

Here is a direct link to one of those mentioned above. The lady who makes these (Tiffany) is wonderful! I have cruised with her twice before and she is a total sweetheart. She can make them in 2, 3, or 4 pockets and with custom fabrics and deisgns, you can totally pick how you want it (which colors and princesses- I believe she can even make the mickey heads princesses!!). And although my whole FE is not made by her, part of it is and I can vouch for her quality work. :thumbsup2

2. What kind of FE presents do you buy? I guess this is kind like stuffing a stocking at Christmas time.

This is what's fun! You never know what you're going to get!! The most common FE gifts are candy and trinket toys like from Oriental Trading Co The kind of stuff kids get in gift bags at birthday parties. Other things are very common like glow sticks, pirate themed items like eye patches, bubbles, and temporary tattoos. You'll also find things adults can enjoy like pens, pencils, paper pads, and CD's of music. Some folks get really creative and handcraft items! :) Also it is fun to receive gifts that represent someone's hometown, like little bottles of maple syrup (Canada) or tabasco sauce (Louisiana) are two examples of this.

Here is a pic of (most if not all) of the FE gifts we got on our last cruise:

3. Do you randomly put gifts in the FEs during the cruise or is this done all at once in the beginning?
This is something usually decided by the group or the FE coordinator. It isn't all at the beginning, but deliveries (or "drops" as I like to call them) can occur either randomly (up to the giver when they make the drops)or on an assigned day. My personal preference is random- I love never knowing when you will find something new awaiting. Plus that way you aren't tied to a specific day or time cause you never know what will come up. (On my last cruise it took us 3 days to finish making all of our deliveries since every time we would go out, the baby would get cranky after a deck or two.) The only problem with that is everyone tends to make their deliveries earlier in the cruise when left up to them and then you don't get too much after say day 5 or so.

4. Do we get a list of staterooms for those participating?
Yes, and I think it is Janice making a very cool map of each deck with the FE cabins clearly marked. The way we like to do it is start on Deck 8 aft and work our way forward, then take the fwd stairs down to 7 and work our way back aft. And repeat! It is actually a fun way to stroll the decks and check out all the door decorations too! :thumbsup2

Hope that helps! It's a lot of fun, I think Sarah would really get a kick out of it!

Hi Sarge!

Hopefully the info above will also help you with FE's!

As far as the magnets go, I second what Judy suggested with the cardstock. Magnetic paper is very expensive and can "bleed". Kids would touch our magnets walking by our door and this smudged the ink and then they were wiping their inky fingers on other magnets, the door, and the walls! (Not all magnet paper does this but it can happen). We didnt even laminate our last magnets made on cardstock and they still looked and held up nicely! (just place the magnets near the corners of the design to prevent the corners from curling.

For designs check out Post 1 of this thread, the logos are there plus a link to several designs already made up for this cruise by Judy! :thumbsup2 And if you ahven't seen THIS THREAD before...well...enjoy! :goodvibes
