DS is asking me on a daily basis when we are going on vacation. I believe I will be making that new countdown calender this weekend. I'm also going to start working on my FE's. If I do a few each weekend, I should have them all done in plenty of time.

Since I do not sew particularly well at all, I was considering ordering our Fish Extender from gradysmommy on Ebay. I think a few have you have ordered from her and have been happy with the results, so I was going to give it a try. My SIL does sew, and very well, but I feel badly pressing her into service to make something for a vacation she is not going on!

I ordered my FE from gradysmommy - but it hasn't arrived yet - I know it doesn't matter what it really looks like but since I don't sew I thought it would cost me more in materials and time to get anything that I wouldn't mind hanging outside our stateroom - so - I decided to just buy it.[/QUOTE]

I ordered mine from Gradysmommy 2 years ago and it's amazing. She does a beautiful job, very professional and you will get exactly what you want. I don't know how to sew either and I'm sure the cost of materials, time and frustration would be way more than what she charges. Now all you have to do is sit back and wait for it to arrive. :)

:sad1: I just realized that this weekend coming is Mother's Day Weekend, and it's MY weekend to WORK at that job I've given my notice for! Oh well, it's another reminder of reasons I'm quitting. I think I worked Mother's Day last year as well. OH well, there's always a nice dinner to be had for mom right? :)

Think I figured out today that Alfred & Seymore will be onboard with us! I loved them, Yeah! This will be my husbands first cruise, and I think he will love them too!!

I also saw that if we stay 2 days after the cruise, we can go to MVMCP! Ooh, what a temptation! We've been to both MNSSHP and MVMCP once each, and I love MVMCP!! I would love to go agin. But, my kids are already going to be missing so much school. They are off the Thursday and Friday before we sai, so were going to leave the Saturday before we cruise and spend a week in Orlando. We definetly want to go to Universal to see Harry Potter, spend a day at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot for Food & Wine (can't wait!) so now what to do?? Got to weigh our options...

I've never seen Alfred and Symour, but I've HEARD lots about them! That would be Awesome if they were an act on board! Do they do Family Entertainment, or is it more of Adult Entertainment?

Have had a terrible day and I am quite ready to go home. I called ahead and told DH that when he picks me up from the train, we are going straight to Chili's, so I can have a margarita! Thankfully, no work tomorrow for me.

I spent a lot of time on the phone yesterday with a CM asking him about my Give a Day ticket. We have one day base tickets attached to our resort reservation (I had a pin code for 40% off deluxes, but only if you booked a package). We are only going to the park one day. The CM gave me a lot of confusing and conflicting information and even told me some stuff that I knew was downright incorrect.

So, I don't know how to use my GAD ticket. Since I only have a one day base ticket, I don't know whether or not I can use my GAD ticket to get the special fastpasses instead (somewhere in the rules it said this was available if you already had a multi-day ticket, it didn't mention one day tickets :confused3 ). Alternatively, I can ask that my one day base ticket be removed from my KTTWC, not use that particular park ticket while we are there, use my GAD instead, and save the other ticket for another trip since it won't expire as long as I don't use it. Whereas, the GAD expires 12/15/10.

The above options I learned from a thread on the Disboards. I really wished that when I called Disney, I could be sure that I was getting the correct info when I called. Some CM's are really nice and knowledgeable, whereas others seem sort of lost.

Opinions as to how I should handle my GAD ticket?

I'm not sure either how the special fast passes work. I would be inclined to cancel the one day base ticket and use the GAD tickets for your park day. :)

I can't outright cancel the one day base ticket I have, cause it is attached to our discounted Magic Your Way package. If I cancel the tickets, I lose the discount on the room (about $270) dollars. I can only save the base ticket for later and use the GAD instead or, possibly, get the special fast pass.

The special fast pass is probably a lesser option for us cause DS is too young for the major thrill rides and DD is too much of a scaredy cat! :)

Oh, I meant cancel your plans to use it that day. I wonder if at the gate you can change your GAD tickets into the special fast pass tickets. But also, you did raise a good point about your kids and thrill rides currently, so perhaps you wouldn't really benefit from the special fast pass. If you can save the one day base tickets for later use, go for it and use the GAD tickets this time around.

Each year for the past 8 years, Two local families have run a HUGE Fundraiser for our Children's Hospital. A Gigantic Garage sale. All funds go to the CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) Foundation, to help children in their fight against Cancer. One family ran it for the 1st 5 years, the 2nd family ran it for the past 3 years, but due to personal circumstances with the last Co-Ordinator, I've decided to step up and run it for this year, because I just can't let it be cancelled for a year. Previously the sale had taken place in the little Town of Greely, an hour drive from Ottawa (where I live). As I'm running it this year, I've changed the Venue, (location, date and thus the name). The Fundraiser has previously been known as "The Gigantic Greely Garage Sale For CHEO" Now I have to think of a Catchy title for it since it's being held in Ottawa but at my end of town.
I was thinking of "The Outrageous Ottawa West Garage Sale For CHEO"
I'd love opinions on the new name or suggestions of a new name!

This fundraiser is normally held in June, but that ain't gonna happen for me, so we made a date of the last weekend of September. I've got a lot of work to do to prepare for this (rack up sponsors, at least 75 volunteers, arrange for local grocerie stores and a local pizza parlour to feed our volunteers for a day, local businesses for door prizes, one of the local banks to match straight up donations, flyers, Cheo foundation for letter head ect..) I've already secured an indoor location and a web designer (the first is working out a price for me, the second is offering his services for free). I am SOOOOO Psyched for this, and it's something the whole family can participate in, AND it will keep me occupied till it's time to pack for our CRUISE!!

2008 was our best year, we raised just under $17,000.00 in one day From a GARAGE SALE!

Anyone want in on the vote for a name, I welcome your voices!

My ride to the airport will be here at any moment - so son't have time to think of one - but I vote you come up with a word or Phrase that ends in "CHEO" and the first letters of the other spells out a word (what is that called?) - I just can't think clearly right now - I'm still on my first cup of cofee . . . :surfweb:

WOW!! After 6 years I finally hit my 1000th post - and I don't even say anything tag worthy! :sad2:

just jumping in, i've been creeping this thread for a while. can someone tell me what a special fast pass is? never heard of it.

I wouldn't make any big decisions quite yet - what if the general public discount comes out and you can change your reservation so that you are paying the same (or close to) without having to purchase the tickets (i.e. room only discount)?

You've got a couple of good ideas - try for fastpass, save tickets for later date (you don't actually have to have them removed from your hotel key - you just keep your hotel key to bring back your next trip - the one day ticket will still be on it and valid - I usually put a small piece of label on it to state either "1 day tix" or "not a room key" to remind myself).

Things will work out.

It is related to the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day promotion. If you volunteered and received a voucher to get into the park free, but you already have park tickets or are an annual pass holder, you can choose to get a special fast pass instead of the free park entry for the day. The fast Pass is good only for certain rides and you can get them for everyone in your party, up to 6 people. They give you a list of rides they are good for, some of them are the much in demand rides, some less so. They can be only be used a certain amount of times in one day, but can be used in addition to the regular fast pass you can obtain with your park ticket.

They offered something similiar during the Free Admission on your Birthday promotion.

Just upgraded!

We were in a category 10 deluxe and our TA called and Disney offered us a cat 9 for $95.00!

I'm sort of surprised that they are offering upgrades this many months before the cruise....is that typical? I am wondering if it is because our ship is filling up and they wanted to free up the lower categories to make room.

It is pretty cool and congrats to you! I think that's a great price to upgrade one category for a 7 day cruise.

We are booked as a Cat 6 GTY. I will be perfectly happy with a Cat. 6, but if we were upgraded to a Cat. 4 or 5, I certainly wouldn't turn it down!

We're CAT6 GTY too! I'm SOOOOO looking forward to having a verandah for the first time! I think that will change our whole cruise experience thus far! Taking it up a notch! Hopefully we can live with our Cat 10 inside on the Dream in 2011! :)
