We're CAT6 GTY too! I'm SOOOOO looking forward to having a verandah for the first time! I think that will change our whole cruise experience thus far! Taking it up a notch! Hopefully we can live with our Cat 10 inside on the Dream in 2011! :)

I think I have spoiled us forever. Our first cruise we had a Cat. 4 (my Mom was with us on that cruise). We ordered breakfast from room service and I would have coffee and a danish sitting out on the verandah every morning. On our last night, a pod of dolphins was swimming along the ship right below our room. Our kids were thrilled. My Mom thought it was magical. Mike and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect ending to our first cruise.

In short, the verandah was heaven for us. :cloud9:

my little find of the day...I was at a church flea market where there are tons of clothes on tables and in boxes to go through. I found a pink Castaway Cay t-shirt which I'm sure will fit one of my girls-fun! Also found a Tinker Bell skirt and red white and blue Mickey shirt. Got a box full of things for just $5!

We have only been on a 4-day with Disney so I have a couple of questions about the character breakfast. First of all, do they still do that on the Magic? If so, is it on a certain day? We are wanting to reserve brunch at Palo and don't want it to interfere if there is a character breakfast.

The still do it, and they are normally on sea days.

Mmm, yep there is a formula for it. It is the sea days (Monday and Thursday) and also on our cruise it is held on Sunday (Key West). The way you determine which day you get depends on your dining rotation. I don't recall the formula off hand but the info I had for our last western was this:

Character Breakfast on:

SUNDAY: APPLAPL rotation at 8:30 and 9:45
MONDAY: LAAPLAP rotation at 8:30 and 9:45
THURSDAY: PLAAPLA rotation at 8:30 and 9:45

Things may have changed since then so take this info with a grain of salt. Also it is subject to change. On our cruise (a double dip) they changed Sunday's CB to Friday (apparently just for our cruise) which really messed us up since that took a big chunk out of our Castway Cay day. Oh well.

The eastern 7 day is a little easier to schedule since there are 3 sea days, the western only has 2 which usually means Monday and Thursday sea days and then Key West. Haven't yet figured out who gets there character breakfast on the sea days and who "draws the short straw" and has it scheduled on a port day.

Now THOSE are my kind of finds! Good for you! Each day I go through an area of the house and pack into boxes items I dont' want/need anymore, to store away for the Childrens Hospital Fundraiser Garage Sale I'm Hosting in September.
Last night on tv, DH had on a shopping channel, and being advertised was "THE BIG BOSS GRILL". I LOVED it, had to have it, DH was impressed with it, and when little DS6 saw it could make DONUTS too, Well, he wanted it too, LOL. SO I ordered it and said that was my mothers day gift. It makes waffels, tons of things, has interchanegable templates for making different things.

SOooooo, I got to thinking of all the Little frying pans in my cupboard I can now get rid of ANNNNNND, our "CINDERELLA WAFFLE MAKER".
We bought this waffle maker back the year of our first Disney trip (2006) and although we used it a lot that year, DD, has no interest in it anymore, and the boys won't eat waffles from it because there is a huge imprint on the front of each one of Cindereall and her Carriage! SOoooo, this will now be a GREAT find for someone in the Garage Sale! (I'd like to get a MICKEY one!)

I'll miss that waffle maker, but now I'll have a new one, that can make more than one at a time too.

Happy Mother's Day!

Missy loves to garden so after breakfast we are off to the local nursery to pick up some seedlings, probably tomatoes, peppers, etc.

I'm planning to garden today, too- just not crazy about all this wind and all the stuff flying around the back yard!

Happy Mother's Day!:flower3:

We are getting ready to transplant our vegetable seedlings to the backyard garden. We went today to get some more top soil and "natural" fertilizer.

My DH tossed a bag of cow manure into the back of our minivan and said "Happy Mother's Day! Here's a bag of poop!" :rotfl:

My real gift was a gift certifcate to one of my favorite restaurants.

We just came back from dinner, Missy likes the Rainforest Cafe so that was her Mother's Day dinner. There is one about 20 minutes away in the Menlo Park mall.

On a hunch this afternoon on the way to the Rainforest Cafe I called the T-Rex restaurant directly instead of through WDW Dine. The nice person was very helpful, she said she could take reservations 6 months in advance (same as ADR).

When I asked about October 28th around 4:30 - 5:00 she said we have reservations every 15 minutes so pick whatever time you like. She clearly made it seem like they had a lot of openings. Apparently, booking directly is better than through WDW Dine.

I can't remember who had trouble getting the time they wanted, but if you read this I suggest calling the restaurant, it sure seemed they had plenty availablity.

That would be me! Thanks! I will give this a try today.

I wonder if they only set aside a certain number of reservations to be made directly through WDW Dine?

Pudo, I just got off the phone with T-Rex and they were able to give us a reservation for 10/28 at exactly the time I wanted that evening! :cool1:

Thank you!!!

I live 20 minutes from there, too! In the opposite direction....:goodvibes

Glad that worked out for you. I was actually pretty surprised myself when I called. The girl almost made it seem like the whole day was wide open, pick whatever time you want.

Curious question. What time did you get? We booked 4:30, maybe we'll see you there.

She did make it seem like the whole day was wide open.

We booked for 5:30. We are arriving that morning around 11:00 a.m. and wanted to hang out at AKL for a bit before heading off to Downtown for the evening.
